Hi I know you’ve been in the fandom for a while and I’m coming back from a one to two year hiatus and unfortunately I think all my favorite fanfics were deleted by tumblr specifically the one I’m looking for is about Harry marrying a journalist if I remember correctly it’s called the unexpected attraction I was wondering if you knew anywhere that I could find this and all the other old good fanfics

First of all, welcome back!  

Second of all, I just went hunting through the phff tag for you… and wow, it brought back some good memories.  I think (think?) the fanfic you’re looking for is gone now.  I found some old replies and tags and when I clicked on the blog link, it had been deactivated.  Maybe the writer is under a new url, so I’m going to open this up to the floor and see if anyone knows where to find the writer :)

I only read two fanfics, but to be honest, I still reread them both about twice a year (each), maybe more haha.  The first one I read was by @ravishingtheroyals called Against the Odds (you can find it here @phfanfic-againstheodds).  This one features Alexandra Morgan, an American-born wartime widow with a young daughter named Emma, who falls in love with Prince Harry.  It’s fun and sweet and light and I can think of three moments off the top of my head right now that bring tears to my eyes still, even though I’ve reread the story a hundred times.  

Then I read @joishereforthis‘ absolute masterpiece of a work featuring Dr. Madeline Forrester, a child psychologist born in Colorado who meets and falls in love with Prince Harry during a mission trip to Africa with Doctors Without Borders.  This story is literally more complex than some published novels I’ve read.  It’s not short (both parts to the main and alternate stories take up probably 300 chapters) but it is worth reading every single word.  Maybe twice.  Three times if you have the time.  I know I’ve read it about ten times now haha.  It is posted on Wattpad and Mibba if I’m not mistaken.  I was able to find it by reaching out to Jo directly after several years - I would do the same if I were you.  She may know where to find the rest of the old fanfics and their authors.

I’m not entirely sure who else was around for the heyday of Prince Harry fanfiction - @catherineandmeghans, @dirtyroyalconfessions, @rachelmarkle, @claireofluxembourg, @lovingtheroyals ?  Do you know where to find any of the other good ones?

What was the racist argument with Kiki?

Kiki is usually nice, but she bitches about racists when she is the most racist one here (oh sorry, according to her only white people can be racist…exhibit A). She is always calling people by racial slurs and always pointing out someone’s race (this black mother, this warm moccha prince, this white person, this chocolate lover). What is this, 1850 where one’s skin color is their defining factor? And she’s always dragging Harry for being too pale. Like he has any control over being born a ginger. . She’s always talking about how European monarchies need to marry people of color to diversify, but does she ever say the same for African or Asian or Arab monarchies? Nope. I asked her if she hoped for other monarchies that aren’t white to become mixed in ethnicity too, but she would never publish those asks. A year ago she posted some awful things making fun of Harry for being pale and I sent her a note saying that was a bit racist and rude and she went off on me saying it is impossible for her to be racist because she is black and slavery is true racism. blah blah bitch moan, like hurtful statements are a competition and only the worst one is important? How about we grow and learn to stop saying hurtful and judgmental things about EVERYONE. If you think someone saying a statement about you is racist (making comments on how dark your skin is in a mocking manner), then maybe  they should refrain from doing the same to someone else (making comments on how light someone’s skin is in a mocking manner).

Hello, well, first of all, what you point as racial slurs are not racial slurs, racial slurs are words that insinuate or allege something about someone regarding their ethnicity, that could be insulting or hurtful to them, such as the ‘n’ word. If she had replaced any of those words (black, moccha, chocolate) with the ‘n’ word I would say it’s racist but it’s clearly not (also, fyi, calling someone black or white is not denigrating)

I believe (Kiki, correct me if I’m wrong) that she drags him for being too pale as a joke, I don’t think she bullies him because of his skin color. ‘People of color’ means everyone who is not white, and when it comes to diversifying monarchies, it is not the same to diversify an European monarchy than Arabs, Africans or Asians, which usually are more conservative, but I’m p sure POC have it harder trying to enter an all-white monarchy than the other way around.

Again, I don’t think she truly made fun of him, and I do agree with her. Given all the things white people did to black people, I don’t see how calling him ‘pale’ joking, it’s on the same level as slavery. 

Besides that, if you have a problem with her for not replying to your asks go to her, but tbh with racist bullshit like this I wouldn’t be surprised if she ignored you.
