I will add to this as I find more stories. The stories linked here are from members of the fandom 💓 I have now added stories at the bottom of the list found on fanfiction sites such as fanfiction.net, Archive of our Own and Wattpad.
After more than 3 years, I have decided to officially retire this blog. Never fear, it shall not be deleted. This blog was a lockdown project that became more successful than I anticipated. Due to the nature of this blog's aim (finding old fanfictions), my use of it has always been sporadic.
I have now decided to officially stop searching for and posting stories. This will likely mean that I will not log in here very often, therefore asks may be unanswered for long periods of time.
I would like to thank all of you for supporting this little project and providing information.
I was told some time ago by a few kind people that @thewalesgang stories were on Wattpad in Spanish.
I am not sure if these are different to the ones posted in English on her blog - and subsequently reblogged to this blog (see thewalesgang tag) after she left.
Initially I was asked not to post the link in case it made her delete her Wattpad account. However, I feel it's been enough time for me to post it. And for reasons to be explained in my next post.
I will not be able to provide translations of these stories :-)

Chapter 8
“The key to chaos. Part II”
Chelsea, London
In less than 10 minutes, Catherine parked her car and took the bag and the two folders from the back seat to enter the house, in a few more minutes Matt would arrive as agreed, but she was already sorry from the moment she hung up the call. What would you say to Matt? Why did you call him? She just wanted to vent, get the attention of someone more understandable...
On the way to the apartment, he thought of other possibilities, he could have called August, Pippa or even his mother, but the first person who came to his mind was Matt.
In order to put something more comfortable, Catherine took a quick shower before Matt arrived, the folders with the drawing notebook were placed on the dining table and as much as she wanted she still could not have an opinion about it, obviously the drawings with an obscene content made her very embarrassed, they were too specific, full of intimate details that caused her disgust.
John was very talented, this was a fact, but his drawings were somewhat disturbing because they showed an intimacy with Catherine that she did not want, an intimacy that made her uncomfortable and lost. Since yesterday, when he arrived at Kensington Palace he had not stopped to think about it, he ended up being distracted by Natalie and Mary, the official appointment - which thank God happened perfectly - although she did not like the answer he gave to the reporter and then a new discussion with William.
Now sitting on the couch, wearing wool socks and sweatshirt, Catherine stopped to think that since the day that the damn photo of William with that Catarina - name that William made a point of informing - went viral, things got cold between the two, they were not a couple to fight a lot, but last week this started to get very frequent.
Catherine felt more and more distant from her boyfriend, she felt that love had diminished and in her view he seemed too accommodated with their relationship and this made her lose her charm involuntarily. With that, she admits that she began to notice other men around her, Matt was one of them. With John's departure from the National Gallery, Matt was hired and soon became friends with Catherine, but she had not noticed him otherwise, until a few weeks ago and obviously it was not something she would like, but for some reason she was attracted to him.
The doorbell rang and Catherine jumped off the couch to open the door, afraid she walked to the entrance.
“Hi. ― said Catherine.
“Hi, how are you?” said Matt, leaning against the door frame.
“Come in here.” replied Catherine, pulling him by the hand.
The intimacy between Matt and Catherine was very limited, they had long conversations about all kinds and any kind of subject, but they rarely had any kind of physical contact, except for the last meeting where Matt took her by the waist causing a wave of electricity in her body, but now due to the latest events, all he thought of doing as soon as he closed the door was hug Matt. A strong hug that left him surprised, Matt surrounded his waist while she supported her head on his shoulder.
“I think I screwed up with Will.” she whispered.
“What do you mean?” he asked letting her go.
Catherine took him to the sofa in the living room, Matt already knew that they had fought a few times because of John, but she told everything again, talked about how she felt distant from William and how his self-indulgence bothered her, talked about being upset by his talk to the reporter... Matt listened to her carefully, making some comments from time to time.
“But what about you, Kate? You said that William is accommodated, don't you think you are too?” Matt asked cautiously.
“What do you mean?” Catherine looked at her confused.
“In my opinion, you are accommodated, why don't you talk to William about it? Maybe he's not even noticing... You should tell him if something bothers you, if you really like him it's worth trying…" said Matt.
“Do you think so?”
“You like him, don't you?”
“I love William…" she said looking into Matt's eyes. “but sometimes I feel like it's cold... I can't explain…"
“I know how it is…" he replied softly.
“Matt…"
“About what happened in your living room…" Matt started and Catherine immediately red. “I'm sorry, I don't know what happened to me…"
“No need to apologize! Nothing happened.” Catherine replied by getting up.
“I said that about the drawings, but it was in reference to the ones you were wearing. You are beautiful, Kate! And he was extraordinary in the details of his eyes, in the shape of his mouth... The way you sit…"
“Matt, no…" Catherine swallowed it dry. “Don't tell me those things.”
“P-Why?” asked Matt, getting up too.
“Because John hurt me a lot and the fact that he captured all this, turned it into drawings and still had the courage to hurt me the way he hurt me makes me confused. I don't know how to deal with it.” replied Catherine.
“I get it, I'm sorry…" said Matt taking her hand. “Maybe we should change the subject, do something else... What do you think?”
“A movie, maybe? We can order something to eat…” suggested Catherine, gently moving away from him.
“Great idea. Shall we order fish and chips? I know you love it.” said Matt, making Catherine immediately remember William, he would have said exactly the same thing.
“Okay.” Catherine replied, going to the kitchen, Matt took the cell phone to place the order.
The food arrived very quickly, so Catherine and Matt turned off the lights and sat on the sofa in the living room to watch a suspense movie, chosen by her, while drinking a glass of wine and eating her favorite food.
William took a few minutes to reason that Catherine left his house, but immediately did not want to give his arm to twist, before he would cool his head and then go after her to try to solve the situation.
While taking a shower, I was thinking about the possibilities I had to please Catherine, maybe I could suggest that she send him an email or even a letter, William could request that one of his security guards deliver the correspondence if that was her wish... William could promise to be more tolerant on issues involving John and even Matt.
Of one thing he was sure: he was not willing to give up his relationship with Catherine.
Stoping to think, these fights are nothing compared to the love he feels for her, just as he is sure that she also feels the same, the tension between them needs to end once and for all. Determined to put an end to these fights and disagreements, the prince rode his motorcycle and went straight to Catherine's apartment.
William left his motorcycle and helmet in the parking lot and walked to the entrance of her apartment, it was all dark so he decided to pick up his cell phone to call, but it was at that moment that he realized that he had forgotten his phone at home.
He assumed that Catherine was sleeping and his only alternative at the moment was to ring the doorbell, approached the door and can already hear the noise of the television... Well, that's a good sign, after all I wasn't going to wake her up.
Stopped in front of her door, William took a deep breath and with his left hand pressed the doorbell and waited.
The doorbell rang and Catherine's whole body froze, added to the tension of the film she was startled when she heard the noise and took a few seconds to act.
“Kate? Love, it's me.” called William from the outside. Catherine got up in a jump. Matt turned white like paper and didn't dare move.
“I think you'd better answer the door.” said Matt swallowing it dry. Catherine ran towards the door without saying anything.
With fear, he unlocked the door and turned the handle slowly, opened the door and had the vision of William leaning against the door frame with his hand in his pocket.
“Will... ― said Catherine feeling guilty.
As much as he hadn't done anything too much, he didn't know how to explain to William what Matt was doing in his house right after their fight.
“Hi, beautiful!” said William already entering the apartment and picking her up by the waist. “I came to apologize, I want to solve everything with you... I don't want to be like this with you…" he said leaning her body against the wall of the living room.
“Ah, Will.” she replied, swallowing dry and looking in the direction of the sofa where Matt was standing looking at both of them.
The lights were off and William turned his confused head towards the couch and his heart jumped, his whole body became rigid. His gaze alternated between the television, the standing figure staring at him, the glasses and the bottle of wine on the coffee table.
“What the fuck is this?” William shouted, releasing Catherine's body.
“C-calm down, I can explain…" said Catherine with her hands on her chest.
“CALM DOWN? ARE YOU ASKING ME TO CALM DOWN?” shouted William, tapping his hand hard on the light switch to be able to see clearly.
Matt got up pale white, but still stared at William without saying anything.
“Will, love... I called Matt here because I wanted to vent, I was sad.” said Catherine desperately trying to take his hand.
William started laughing. Laugh at despair, hate, hurt.
“You can only be kidding me! Is this a prank? We argue and you just leave and call this asshole to your house? What the fuck is that!?” said William with bitterness.
“Relax, man! It's no big deal.” Matt intervened, walking towards William.
In two steps, William caught up with Matt and with only one hand caught him by the collar pressing him on the window wall. Catherine screamed desperately.
“AH, YOU BASTARD!” William shouted angrily. Catherine grabbed him screaming for him to release Matt.
William lifted Matt off the ground, making him run out of air.
“HAVE YOU LOST your VOICE NOW? LET'S GO! DON'T YOU HAVE THE STRENGTH TO DEFEND YOURSELF? RETAR, YOU PIECE OF SHIT! REVIDA!” William was screaming and now his two hands were on Matt's neck who had no strength to push him.
“William, stop! Please stop it!” begged Catherine, uselessly trying to get William to let him go. Matt had his whole face red.
“W-williamm, ― tried to speak Matt. ― please. ― only a thread of voice came out of his throat.
“Will, no.” the panic in Catherine's voice. “You're scaring me.” William let go of Matt who coughed and tried to breathe.
“Get out of my face, before I break you whole. Come on, get out!” William shouted, catching Matt by the arm and threw him out of the door. Matt looked desperately at Catherine.
“Go, Matt! Go!” said Catherine, grabbing William's hand because she was afraid that he would fly on Matt again.
“William, please calm down.” whispered Catherine. William got rid of her arms.
“I can't even look at you.” said William looking away from her with both hands on his head.
“Love…"
“Don't call me love... You me…" he took a deep breath. “Kate, why did you do this to me?”
“William, that's not what you're thinking about.” she said desperate. “Let's sit down and talk... I, I can explain everything, there was nothing, I swear. I love you. I would never do that.”
“There are limits in which a man can accept to be rejected and humiliated, you have already extrapolated.” said William crossing his arms, he looked everywhere but at her face.
“I didn't kiss Matt! I didn't betray you.” Catherine said vehemently. William put his hand on his stomach because he felt nauseous.
“Even if you didn't kiss, you betrayed my trust.” he said looking at the table. Two notebooks caught your attention.
‘Don't see that…” she said shaking from head to toe. William took a step towards the table, Catherine tried to stop him but it was too late. To Catherine's bad luck, he took the second notebook and opened it.
Catherine didn't move anymore, it would be useless.
“Kate?” said William with a choked voice. He couldn't distinguish what he felt.
“I-I, I, I can explain.” whispered Catherine next to him. William threw the notebook on the table.
“I'll make it easy for you…" said William looking deep into her eyes. The blue in the green. “It's over. Today. Now.”
“How did it end?” Catherine replied, grabbing him.
“My coming here was very enlightening. I hope you are happy and free now.” said William, letting go of Catherine's hug and walking with great strides out of the house.
“No, no, no, no!” begged Catherine, running after him. “William come back here, let's understand each other, let's talk.”
William got on the bike, put on his helmet and left accelerating as much as he could without even looking back, leaving Catherine crying copiously as the icy wind beat rudely on his face, his body was cold and his heart shattered.
The prince seemed in a state of shock, all he did was accelerate, accelerate and accelerate. His mind turned into a white figure and disconnected words appeared in his head, he drove aimlessly along the city's highways, the strong wind beating against him, it was all so intense, but at the same time so meager.
He felt betrayed and humiliated, how was Catherine able to do that to him? What had you done so wrong that you deserved such suffering? Did Catherine want to take revenge because of a photo? Did she fall madly in love with Matt and will stay with him? Just thinking about it, your stomach would wrap it up. His whole body was tingling and he felt as if his head was going to explode.
He never imagined himself breaking up with Catherine, it was like he was in a nightmare and couldn't wake up.
2 weeks later
August:
You promised you would come to Luke's welcome party. Even if you and Kate are no longer together, it does not mean that you are no longer our friend.
William:
I'll be there, my friend.
It's been two weeks since the end.
Two weeks when Catherine didn't eat and didn't sleep properly and William felt anesthetized, it was as if they had pulled something from him and he didn't know how to react.
Catherine didn't dare go to his house, William didn't even look for her. She tried to call, sent messages, and as much as he missed her a lot, he didn't have the strength to answer, he didn't have the courage to try to understand what happened.
The media didn't even dream of the breakup of the two and his team did everything to make things stay that way, just as it was William's will. Natalie and Mary did everything to cheer you up, from their favorite foods to playing tennis or some card game. The prince didn't want to see any of his friends, so he pretended to have some appointment or meeting to avoid leaving, his father also had no idea of the breakup.
Catherine was the personification of repentance, she cried for three days in a row and didn't want to see anyone. She walked away from Matt, and was practically forced to tell August and her mother, she had to beg her not to tell her father. At first, she didn't want to hear any advice, but after a few days, she wanted help to win back William.
York, England
It was a beautiful winter afternoon, the open sky practically all blue, it was a rarity even more at that time of year, the icy wind was present when William got out of the car for the reception at Arthur and August's house.
He wore a black overcoat and a red scarf wrapped around his neck, walked slowly to the entrance door of his friends' large and cozy house.
Already at the entrance was hung a banner written "Welcome, Luke" and some balloons in silver, blue and white colors, next to the door there was a gift box, where William left his bag.
Arthur was the first to greet, then August who was with the little and smiling Luke on his lap. William can't help but smile as he contemplates him.
Luke surprised his parents and especially William, when he threw himself into his arms, making everyone smile even more. William took the baby on his lap and started talking to August and Arthur, other people passed by them and greeted him as well.
The moment the prince was going to deliver Luke to August again, the boy grabbed his scarf.
― Don't you want to leave me, Luke? Did you like uncle's lap? ― William joked, holding Luke in the air carefully, making the baby laugh.
Catherine was in the kitchen when she heard William's voice and went out in a hurry to the entrance of the room and when she saw him her heart raced.
He was so beautiful in his black overcoat, smiling. He looked happy with Luke in his arms, it broke his heart even more, but she couldn't turn her eyes away from him.
There were more than 30 people present in that house in the afternoon to celebrate Luke's arrival, Catherine had only eyes for one person: her prince.
That when he noticed his look at him, he looked back at her, but for the first time he didn't feel anything.
Chapter 9
“We look forward to those who taught us to be strong and at the same time showed us how vulnerable we can be.”
York, England
August and Arthur were delighted with the arrival of Luke who came to complete and make this family even happier, the party was organized by Carole, Pippa and Catherine. The decoration was impeccable, as was the food.
All the guests had fun, but no more than the star of the party: Luke.
He adapted so quickly with the house and with his parents' friends, but for some reason his favorite person at the party was the Prince of Wales, even if he passed from lap to lap and everyone gave him attention, Luke looked everywhere.
William was loving the party and especially Luke, but he didn't feel well. He was forced to talk and play with the guests, including Carole and Pippa who treated him well, despite recent events. The only person he didn't talk to was Catherine, they just exchanged looks and dull smiles.
As much as Catherine wanted to come back running into his arms, she didn't want to run the risk of being rejected and breaking another piece of her heart, William's coldness was totally understandable and she knew she deserved it, after all she betrayed his trust and thinking rationally she knew she would do the same thing if it was the other way around, but she wasn't willing to give up this love, she just didn't know for sure how to get it back.
Now Catherine was sitting on the couch, drinking an Italian soda just watching the prince play with Luke on the opposite side of the room, he talked non-stop to the boy who smiled openly. William was beautiful, as always, but he looked paler and couldn't stop running his hand over his belly.
“Go there and talk to him.” said Pippa, sitting on the couch and giving Catherine a slight scare.
“Will it be?
“Of course, Kate. Did you hurt him and still want him to run after you?” Pippa said sincerely. Catherine closed her face. “It's no use looking at me like that... He may have misinterpreted it, but I totally understand his side.”
“I'm not going to discuss this with you.” Catherine replied.
“You never want to talk to anyone about it... It's no use crying afterwards.” replied Pippa, taking a sip of the drink in his glass.
Catherine looked at her sad and got up to leave the glass on the table, taking a deep breath began to walk slowly in the direction of William.
“Hello.” he said timidly.
“Hi.” he smiled weakly.
“It looks like you've got a new friend.” she smiled interspersing her gaze between William and Luke.
“It seems so.” replied William, playing with the baby's little hands.
“I know it's a stupid question, but are you okay? It looks pale, do you want me to get you something to eat? I noticed that she hardly ate anything.” said Catherine worried.
“I'm not hungry, thank you.” William replied, noticing Arthur approaching.
“Luke, my love! Come here with dad, let's take some pictures with grandma?” said Arthur smiling, and taking the baby from William's arms. “Thank you, Wills.” he completed it, leaving them both alone.
William was going to leave, but Catherine was quick and held him by the arm.
“I'm worried about you.” she said caressing your arm. William stood still.
“You know you don't have to stay.” he said looking at her hand. She was still wearing the ring.
Catherine was slowly sliding her fingers down his arm with the intention of picking up his hand, but William noticed what she was going to do and walked away.
“Will…" she whispered.
“No.” he said softly.
Pippa arrived in a hurry and slapped William on the back.
“William, can you take Kate home? We came only with a car and I will need to take my mother running home, my father called saying that one of our uncles went to visit us, we need to come back quickly.” said Pippa looking at William, totally ignoring Catherine's presence.
“No, no... You don't have to do that.” interrupted Catherine.
“All right.” replied William.
“Thank you!” said Pippa, kissing his cheek. ― Bye.
“Bye to you too.” said Catherine watching her sister walk away. “Will, I'm sorry about that, you don't have to take me, okay?”
“It's the way to my house, unless you don't want me to take you without problems.” said William putting his hand on his stomach because he felt a slight pang. ― Excuse me.
Catherine watched William walk away and then went to say goodbye to his mother.
“Daughter, I'm going because your uncle Simon got home, but tomorrow I'm going to your house. We need to talk, don't you think?” said Carole hugging her daughter.
“Send a kiss to Uncle Simon for me.” she said and put a kiss on her mother's cheek. “And yes, mom... I think we need to talk.”
William went to the bathroom and closed the door behind him, leaned with both hands on the countertop and looked at the mirror, he felt horrible.
He was pale and very nauseous, he could hardly eat, even though all the guests praised the food, he was not hungry.
In an attempt to alleviate the malaise he opened the tap to wash his face, the cold water made him shiver from head to toe, but this made him feel a little better, William stayed a few more minutes there looking at himself and thinking.
The more I thought, the more angry I felt... He wanted to forgive Catherine, he wanted to run back to her, he wanted to have her in his arms, he wanted to kiss her, love her... but he couldn't. Two weeks ago he thought about everything that was said and what was not said and came to the conclusion that Catherine is right to feel trapped, she came out of a troubled and abusive relationship and soon they started a relationship and had problems because of the same unnameable. The truth is that she did not have a phase, a period to feel free and well with herself, maybe he has trapped her in her crazy world, no one more than him knows how difficult it is to live surrounded by photographers, reporters and other people saying what he Should or should not do it, maybe he did it to Catherine. Maybe it made her adapt to a reality she didn't want, no matter how much she loved him.
But would it be selfish of you to want to have Catherine in your life? Want to love and be loved by her?
And the question that remains, if Catherine who until a month ago seemed to be fine with it, why has she changed so much? Why did she do this to him?
William would rather repeat these questions in his head than the image of Catherine talking or worse kissing Matt, just thinking about it feels a twinge in his abdomen, making him want to moan loudly in pain.
A knock on the door makes William return to reality, fixing his clothes and washing his hands, he goes out looking for Catherine to leave.
William sees Catherine from afar, talking to Arthur's mother and walks to her, gently touching her back he whispers a ''can we go now?'' Close to her ear causing a wave of energy to pass all over her body, she does not respond, but almost involuntarily takes her hand, he does not retreat. He just politely says goodbye to you and they go hand in hand.
Catherine didn't want to let go of his hand, but they needed to say goodbye. After kisses and hugs on the other guests, they approached Arthur, August and little Luke who was now very sleepy. Both thanked for the day and promised to come back soon, after putting a kiss on the baby's forehead, they were leaving right at the time August exclaimed:
“Wait!” he said taking the camera from the table. “Have you already taken pictures with Luke, but would it be too much to ask for one of you 3?”
William looked at August suspiciously, but it would be rude of him to deny it, even more so that it was with Luke and with... Catherine. Despite everything, she is the love of his life.
Catherine turned red and with no reaction, she didn't dare say anything, for fear of rejection, until she heard it.
“For my part it's perfect.” he said taking Luke in his lap. Catherine accompanied him and they went to the photo panel, the baby scratched his eyes and laughed at her.
“Ah, Luke! You are the cutest and most smiling baby in the world.” said Catherine caressing his cheeks. William looked at her and she lost her breath.
“Very well! Smile! Luke, look here at Dad.” said August pointing the camera at them, making everyone look in his direction.
Photos taken, farewells made, they would finally have their moments alone to her house. Catherine was willing to try a rapprochement during the long journey.
“I didn't know I would come back with you, I didn't bring your favorite candy to eat on the trip.” she said as soon as he started the car.
“No problem.” he answered without looking at her, one hand on the steering wheel and the other on his own leg. Catherine looked at him and immediately missed his touch, William always directed a hand on her leg.
“Luke is so cute, isn't he?” said Catherine trying to start a conversation.
“Yes.” said William and they were silent for a while. He had his eye on the road and she kept moving, looked at his face, at his hands and then at the window, then repeated everything again.
“William, for God's sake! Don't give me an ice like that, I won't be able to stand this long journey with you treating me coldly, let's talk about anything.” Catherine spoke desperately. William looked away at her and smiled.
“You never had a hard time talking.” William replied caressing her leg, but when he realized his act he soon took his hand.
“Tell me about Aston Villa... How are you in... Premier League?” said Catherine and William started laughing.
William admired her effort to try to get closer to him, she knew he loved to talk about football and especially about Villa. He couldn't keep ignoring her, so he started a conversation about football, talked about the situation of his team in the championship and about the transfer window, what his expectations were.
Catherine listened attentively and made several comments, William was entertained saying that he almost did not realize that she caressed the back of her neck, the connection between them had returned to normal.
“Don't you think?” asked William, as there was no answer he looked to the side and saw Catherine sleeping, all clumsy on the bench, one of her arms still stretched towards her, he took her hand and deposited a kiss then fixed her arm close to her body.
They had already passed halfway and Catherine had slept, William decided to turn on the sound quietly so as not to wake her up. From time to time I would look at her, trying to resist the immense desire to touch her.
It occurred to him that Catherine could feel cold, because she always felt, her blanket was still in the trunk, so he stopped the car and took the blanket.
William fixed Catherine's body and covered her, as he always did on trips with her, before starting the car again he felt a twinge in the abdominal region, making him feel nauseous again. He just took a deep breath, practically took a bottle of water and continued the journey.
After the long trip, the prince finally parked in front of her apartment.
“Kate, we arrived…" said William, caressing her face. She took a deep breath and opened her eyes.
“My God, I slept.” she said, seizing herself on the bench and noticing the blanket over her body. “Thank you.”
“You don't need to thank me.”
“No, seriously... Thank you for bringing me, for taking care of me…" she said caressing his shoulders and looking into his eyes. “I want to be a better person, less confused... I don't want to lose you.”
“Kate, no…"
“No, no... Don't say anything, I'll kiss you on the cheek and enter my apartment... I want to keep the memory of you coming to bring me and waking me up with affection, please don't take it away from me, I've already lost everything else.” she said with tears in her eyes. William nodded.
Catherine approached slowly and gave him two kisses, one on each cheek and got out of the car. William didn't say anything, nor did he dare to move, he just followed her with his eyes, so she closed the door of his apartment, he began to cry.
Everything seemed too exhausting, too painful. His body hurt so much, his stomach seemed like his biggest enemy, as soon as he turned the key, had a sudden urge to vomit and had to act fast, turned off the engine again and opened the car door.
William vomited on the sidewalk, his whole body was sweating and his vision was blurry, he had to take off his coat because he felt a huge malaise. I didn't want to run the risk of someone seeing him in that situation, he turned on the air conditioning at a very low temperature and inexplicably drove to Kensington Palace.
Chelsea, London
The day dawned completely different from the day before. Wetter, colder and more gray.
Carole arrived early at Catherine's apartment and both enjoyed a hot tea in front of the fireplace in the cozy living room.
“Kate, I'm here as your mother and as your friend, I want to know what's wrong with you, I want to help you, daughter.” said Carole.
“Oh, mom... I can't take it anymore... You know I don't like to open up very much, but I need advice.” Catherine replied timidly.
“I won't judge you.” said Carole holding your hand. “I just want to help you.”
Catherine told her mother that she lied to William the day he called to tell her about the photo, on the call she said that everything was fine, that it didn't mean anything, but it was a big lie... She tried not to care, but when she saw the photo viralized, she couldn't. After the photo, he was disappointed and William's reaction didn't help at all either, he wanted to continue as if it were no big deal. Things were getting cold between them, she felt as if the William who looked for her in the National Gallery and surprised her in various attitudes was no longer there, causing her to begin to be interested in the way Matt treated her. John's appearance caused even more confusion in her head and all she wanted was William's support, but all she received was reprimand, unlike Matt, he didn't want to hear about John, he always told him about protection, but Catherine didn't feel protected. She loved William too much, but she felt that the passion was over and hearing him saying that she didn't want to get married soon left her disappointed. It was clear that they were not well and she didn't know why William didn't seem to care about it, she just went on with life quietly, because whenever he called or showed up at her house or at her work, she would leave everything to stay with him. And she was already fed up with so many fights, in the heat of the moment she couldn't express in words what she was feeling, it never crossed her mind to betray William or break up with him, she doesn't know why she called Matt to her house, she just wanted a friend and understands that she could have made another choice at that moment or better yet, not have left William's house.
Carole listened to everything with compassion and attention, Catherine cried a lot as she spoke and her mother waited for her to finish talking before anything else.
“You know Kate, listening to you speak, I think that after John and everything you suffered with him, you began to have a different view of men... Daughter, you were raised by a caring and loving man and you deserve to be treated exactly that way, maybe you have confused your feelings because in addition to William, Matt came treating you well, but dear think... You are surrounded by men who treat you well, that's exactly how you need to be, like Arthur, August and even Matt... John is the exception here. He should never be the ruler of measuring affection. And dear, William loves you and is in love with you. Your father and I have been married for more than 20 years... I love your father and he loves me, there comes a time when the passion, that burning fire has diminished, but it does not mean that it does not exist. Love needs to be nurtured, cultivated... You and William need to learn this if you want to be together. You said you feel he was accommodated, maybe you should also take initiatives, surprise him, conquer him... As I said before, love needs to be nurtured and this is a two-way street. And daughter, one last thing, you need to forgive yourself to move on... John, he served his sentence, even if we agreed or not and getting closer to him would not be a good idea, I'm sure his intention is good, but John has psychological problems and is unstable, you also have to let him move on, start his life again... I'm telling you all this, because I want you to be happy, you are amazing, beautiful and responsible... It deserves to be happy and it breaks my heart to be so sad and lost. Understand, daughter... A relationship doesn't need to complete your life, you can't make it your goal of living, but something or someone who disappears with you.” Carole said tenderly. Catherine didn't answer anything, just hugged her mother and cried.
A cry to wash the soul, because Catherine finally understood.
There are days when only the affection and embrace of a mother are able to heal us, to bring us light and wisdom, that morning Catherine can feel as if a weight was taken from her back... She needed this, she needed someone to listen to her and advise her in a direct way, to show her the obvious and to welcome her.
Catherine realized where she made a mistake and was willing to learn from her mistakes, was William willing to forgive her? He wanted to drop everything now and run to his apartment, but he wanted to do it right, so he sent him a message.
Kate:
Will, I know I screwed up, but I want to fix it. Maybe we can talk, can I go to your apartment or will you come here? What do you think? As one day you told me that you were willing to do anything for me, I also tell you: I am willing to do anything for you. I miss you.
Kate:
I look forward to hearing from you.
Catherine spent the rest of the morning with her mother, Pippa arrived for lunch and the three Middletons spent the rest of the day entertained talking and enjoying a special family moment.

Chapter 10
“I had to remake myself away from the touch of your hands so as not to run the risk of completely shattering me again.'' THE END ― PART I”
William was at the entrance of a bridge, leaning against the handrail just looking at the river, when Catherine approached.
“William?” said Catherine getting closer and closer to him.
Upon hearing her voice, he looks in her direction and her face turns pale, her expression of terror scares her, but before she could say anything, William begins to run to cross the bridge. Catherine stranges her reaction and starts running after him, her heart beats fast and her body hurts, she screams for William who doesn't even look back, just runs desperate.
“WILLIAAAAAM!” screams Catherine desperately. The moment he finally looks back, Catherine loses the ground, as the woods of the bridge crumble under her feet and to her horror both she and William fall off the bridge. His eyes contemplate the horror of William's eyes before waking up from this terrible nightmare.
Catherine jumps on the bed, her body is completely cold and wet, just like her sheets. She puts her hands on her chest to feel her heart beating fast and sits on the bed to calm down, still confused about the nightmare, picks up her cell phone to look at the time: 07:00 am. There has still been no return of the messages she sent to William and her nightmare with him made her even more worried. And he looked so scared and fragile, it broke his heart to watch that look of panic as they fell off the bridge. She decided to call him, maybe telling about the dream could be the kickoff for a reconciliation dialogue.
The brunette got up still with her body sore and cold, locating William's contact, with trembling hands squeezed to call... She called, called, called... P.O. Box. Well, maybe she was still sleeping, after all it's 7 o'clock in the morning. One more attempt. Nobody answered. P.O. Box.
Walking slowly to the kitchen, her bare feet felt the discomfort of the icy floor, holding her cell phone with one hand, she used the other to move the curtain away from the kitchen window while trying to call William one last time, the rain fell torrentiously outside, loaded and gray clouds covered the city, proving that the storm was far from over.
“William, my love, I just wanted you to answer me.” he whispered softly and put water to warm up.
Catherine had a bad feeling, the last few weeks have been horrible for her. Being without William and knowing that he was sad that she hurt him left her heartbroken, having seen him on Sunday and knowing that no matter how much he was smiling and being nice to everyone, he was in pieces. Catherine just looking knew that he was not well and knew that something was wrong and felt even worse for thinking that she was the reason to let her feel that way, but now that her mother opened her eyes, maybe it was the right time to solve this.
Recognizing that you made a mistake and where you made a mistake is the first step and this fortunately Catherine has already achieved, now the time has come to put into practice, she was willing to forgive herself for everything that happened to John, finally she understood that she is not and will never be guilty of his behavior and that both have the right to restart their lives, now her head was finally getting rid of these confused thoughts about John. Another important point that she was also willing to recognize that she made a mistake with Matt in confusing her feelings, it turns out that Catherine had the view that she was not worthy of affection and respect and that all men approached her precisely with ulterior motives and her weak and confused mind was treacherous and needy too, confusing a genuine friendship with something totally wrong just to praise her ego. Catherine was finally recognizing that she deserves to be treated well by everyone, not just to have something in return and this may even seem crazy, but John moved so much With his head that something as simple as this, caused him a gigantic mental confusion.
And finally, she would fight to get her love back. Yes. Catherine loved William, only William. As much as she recognized that she confused things with Matt, no attraction or feeling for anyone she has ever related reaches the feet of what she felt for William and no matter how much the relationship had cooled, she knew they were there, even if hidden they were there... And she would do everything for the flame to light up again... On Sunday, she already had a glimpse of this feeling, no matter how much William was cold and distant, her small gestures, his look, his smile even if not directed at her were the fuel that kept everything there... And At the end of the night, when he woke her up from the nap during the trip, for a moment it seemed that everything had returned to normal, his touch, his voice and his affection directed at her... A crumb that Catherine decided to hold on to. Maybe it was weakness, but it seems so unfair to let it pass. She didn't like to lose.
While waiting for her tea to cool down a little more, Catherine was sitting in the kitchen messing with her cell phone and received a notification. A notification that made your world stop.
Announcement from Kensington Palace
His Royal Highness, the Prince of Wales, was admitted to King Edward VII Hospital in London on Monday night. The prince's admission is due to a malaise. His Royal Highness underwent exploratory laparotomy surgery.
“NO.” Catherine screams throwing her cell phone on the table. Your eyes fill with tears, your body freezes and your vision becomes blurred. How can this be happening, my God? That can only be a lie. No, no, no. It's fake news. William didn't answer the phone because he was sleeping.
Catherine doesn't know what to do, her head can't process what she just read, the panic paralyzed her and after a few minutes of pure terror, where all she did was cry, her phone rings waking her up from this state of torpor.
“Hi, Kate. Are you okay? I just read the palace note.” August said as soon as she answered the phone.
“August, I don't know what to do... Tell me this is a lie, please? I just read this, I texted him yesterday, he didn't answer me... I tried to call him earlier today, I had a nightmare and now he doesn't answer me... Did I do that to him? Did I make him sick?” Catherine said between tears.
“You need to calm down! You're not to blame for anything, okay? Let's do it like this... I can't go to your house now, because I'm too far away, but calm down and get in touch with Natalie to understand what happened... Then we'll meet in a little while, okay?” August spoke slowly in an attempt to calm Catherine.
“Natalie... Okay... I'll call her right now... I'll talk to you.” she replied by hanging up the phone.
As soon as she hung up, Catherine located Natalie's contact and went straight to the mailbox. Her heart was beating fast, it was desperate. Catherine located Rob's contact.
“Kate?” said Rob on the other side of the line.
“Rob, for God's sake, tell me what's going on... I just saw a note from the palace, is that serious? Tell me it's a lie.” said Catherine desperately.
“It's not a lie, Kate... William was sick all day yesterday and we were only able to convince him to go to the hospital at night when he fainted. He had surgery, we still don't know for sure what happened to him... Maybe the appendix or something... The doctor didn't give more details, he's still in the operating room, I'm here with Natalie waiting.” said Rob in a serious tone of voice. His concern was clear.
“Oh my God! I'm going there.” replied Catherine holding her tears.
“I don't think that's a good idea.” said Rob, but Catherine didn't even listen because she had already turned off the phone.
Sunday night
William parked in his parking space at Kensington Palace, his body dripped with sweat and his vision was blurry, he doesn't even know for sure how he managed to get home and his body begged for a bath and rest.
Still dizzy, William walked to the entrance of his apartment, it was already dark and very cold, but his body was not even feeling the cold wind and the fine drizzle falling on his body. There was no one, not even Mary was at home that night, as soon as he came in he didn't even notice the note she left on the table. He went straight to the bathroom and this time filled the bathtub.
His belly hurt so much, it was as if someone had given him several kicks in the mouth of his stomach, William took off his clothes slowly and entered the bathtub, the hot water at first relieves the pain in his body for a while, making him start thinking about the day he had.
Seeing Catherine today was already in his plans, in addition to seeing Luke and participating in a special moment of his friends was the main reason he went to York today, but it was obvious that he wanted to see her, be together with her even if he was not yet ready to talk and much less to come back, but he was surprised by the fact that he did not feel anything when he saw her. 2 weeks ago you felt apathetic towards her, it hurt too much to have seen her with Matt and then those drawings... What was Catherine thinking? They had just fought and she calls another man to her house? He really felt as if someone had punched his stomach about 25 times. As he himself said to her, there are limits in which a man accepts to be rejected and humiliated and at the moment William did not want to give his arm to cheer and simply come back with her without first healing this wound. He felt hurt, betrayed and resentful for everything she did, he really wanted to talk and let her talk, but he still didn't feel ready to listen.
When he saw her earlier, he didn't feel anything... but coming back with her caused him a confusion of feelings, feeling his despair for feeling the distance between them made him realize how much she was sorry and was suffering too. Having her sleeping in his car almost made him bring her to his apartment, just as he did several other times, but this damn abdominal pain got in the way of his plans. Feeling Catherine kissing her face instead of her mouth was a new kick in the stomach, watching her move away she burst into tears and he doesn't even know how this happened. A mixture of feeling and emotions, William still did not believe that he was suffering this way because of her.
Now standing feeling the hot water covering his body, he felt a new twinge in the abdominal region and a wave of pain invaded his body, William got up in a jump and ran to the toilet to vomit again. What the hell was going on? Would you throw up every time you thought of Catherine? That's a nightmare. Wiping his forehead on the towel, William brushed his teeth and finished his bath.
He felt weak and nauseous, mentally thanked Mary for not being at home, because she would be desperate to see him in this situation, so gathering all the energy he had left, he went to the couch and lay down only in his pajama shorts. His body was on fire, but he had no idea about it, he just fell asleep wrapped in Catherine's blanket.
Monday morning
Around 8 a.m., Mary entered the prince's apartment through the side door of the kitchen and soon surprised the temperature of the house, it was much warmer than usual, a huge contrast of the temperature she was outside. The lady walked to the living room and came across a scene that made her heart accelerate with fright.
William was lying on the couch wrapped in the blanket, only his head uncovered, he had an expression of tiredness and his few hair was wet and his forehead dripped with sweat, Mary approached slowly because she thought he was dreaming, but when she stopped in front of him she noticed that he mangled meaningless words, then sat next to him on the couch and touched his forehead. The prince burned with a fever.
“William, William... Wake up, son.” said Mary very worried. She began to discover her body that dripped sweat.
“Kate?” asked William with his eyes closed. Trying to cover yourself again.
“No dear, it's Mary... William finds out you're burning with fever... Wake up, let's call the doctor.” said Mary and got up in search of the phone, but stopped as soon as she heard Natalie's footsteps entering the apartment. “Nat, help me here!” Mary said in a higher tone.
Natalie heard Mary's voice and increased the step towards the voice and got scared when she entered the room and saw Mary trying to pull William's body.
“What happened?” asked Natalie almost running to them.
“I don't know, I just arrived and found him grumble while sleeping here on the couch.” replied Mary kneeling next to the sofa, running her hand over William's forehead.
Natalie ran to the pantry to get a box with a first aid kit, quickly came back with the thermometer.
“My God, 38º.” Natalie murmured right after touching the digital thermometer on the prince's forehead. “Let's take off this blanket and take it upstairs.”
“Why the hell are you messing with me?” William grumbled opening his eyes.
“You have a fever, William... I'll call the doctor, okay?” Natalie pulling the blanket and revealing his naked chest.
“Hey, why are you discovering me, I'm naked, you know?”
“We are trying to take care of you…" replied Natalie smiling and taking off all the blanket. “You're not naked, you're wearing shorts, thank God.” Natalie pulled him by the hand with some difficulty, because William was heavy and seemed drowsy due to the high fever.
“Here, take it!” Mary sat next to him and stuck a pill in his mouth, then gave him a glass of water. William obeyed.
“I feel so nauseous, I remember I arrived and took a bath and then lay down here.” said William softly running his hand over his forehead.
“Did you drink?” asked Mary.
“No.”
“I'll call the doctor.” Natalie said again and unlocked the cell phone.
“For what doctor? It's just a fever and nausea... Maybe it's something I ate. I've already taken medicine, it will pass.” he said holding Natalie's hand.
“Go up and take another shower, you're all sweaty.” said Mary and pulled him by the hand. William saw stars because with the tug his abdomen felt a hook and a sharp pain hit him.
“Are you in pain?” asked Natalie worried. William denied it.
“Don't worry about me.” William replied and with difficulty walked slowly to his room trying to disguise the pain he was feeling as much as possible.
William took a practically cold shower and lay down again under the covers, now in his bed, the fever seemed to have gone down but he felt very cold, but Mary did not let the temperature of the air conditioning rise and did not let him stay so covered. With all the affection, she prepared a breakfast, but William barely touched the food, the half toast and the little tea he drank went out half an hour after he ate it.
Nothing stopped in his stomach and the only position that made him a little more comfortable was with his legs flexed towards the abdomen. William felt like a helpless child and insisted that they not call the doctor, because he claimed that it was no big deal, he even fought with Natalie to stop meddling in his life.
William felt ashamed to be sick, he thought that being too depressed was what caused him to be like this, he didn't want to see anyone or talk to anyone. Mary didn't care about his opinion and went into the room every hour to see if everything was okay, William pretended to sleep, but it was all a big lie because every hour his pain increased. His malaise and persistent fever did not subside, every time he tried to move in bed he felt an intense pain that made him dizzy. He didn't feel hungry and didn't even try to eat, because he knew he would vomit, time didn't pass, the hours dragged on and everything seemed like a nightmare.
The prince was no longer reasoning right, he read Catherine's message.
Kate:
Will, I know I screwed up, but I want to fix it. Maybe we can talk, can I go to your apartment or will you come here? What do you think? As one day you told me that you were willing to do anything for me, I also tell you: I am willing to do anything for you. I miss you.
The women appeared panting and frightened in the room and found William crying lying down.
“What is it? William, you're scaring us, let's go to the doctor, please.” said Natalie and they both went to the edge of his bed.
“Kate is coming here, I need to get well... My God, she will never want me again if she finds out that I got sick with sadness and threw up on the sidewalk of her house.” said William with his hands on his head.
“Sick of sadness?” asked Mary confused.
“Yesterday she was so beautiful, am I so weak for wanting her back?” grumbled bitterly.
“You're not weak, William.” Mary said in a maternal tone.
“She will come here, I need to get ready. ― said William and taking a deep breath, put his feet out of bed, in an impulse he got up, a sharp pain like never felt before hit him in full, his vision became dark and he simply went out.
William fell to the ground, fainted and Natalie even tried to run to hold him, but couldn't. Mary ran out of the room screaming for help and then five people appeared to see what was happening. Mary was desperate, didn't know if she called an ambulance or if she told someone to take William to the hospital, but before she concluded the reasoning Natalie was already calling the emergency room, while holding William's head trying to wake him up.
Natalie was panicked to see William like that, she had never seen him so fragile, he seemed to feel so much pain, his skin was very hot and sweated a lot, she felt her heart beating hard and whispered to William that everything would be fine, in an attempt to calm him down. William didn't say anything to something, he was delirious with so much pain, he just held Natalie's hand as if his life depended on it.
The rescue arrived in less than 07 minutes and they forced Natalie to let go of his hand so that they could take care of him, then took him into the ambulance immobilized on the stretcher, made an access to his arm and took all the information about his symptoms with Natalie and Mary.
Some of William's security guards stayed with Mary to calm her down, while Natalie accompanied William inside the ambulance on the way to the hospital. Although she was very shaken by everything that happened, she needed to work, so she already called Rob, who was on his day off, but didn't even care and both have already started the protocol for cases of when a member of royalty needs medical attention.
Rob was in charge of warning William's family, because it was a more delicate subject he asked the King's secretary to pass on the information, he has already advised the entire team on the announcements, but has already been warned that nothing would be published before they had concrete news and information about William's diagnosis. He decided to go to the hospital to get more information and also to stay with Natalie.
Monday night
King Edward VII's Hospital, London
The ambulance parked at the King Edward VII hospital and before they opened the vehicle door, William called for Natalie.
“Nat, are you here with me?” he asked.
“Yes, William. We brought you to the hospital, everything will be fine.” she replied holding your hand.
“You have to go back, Nat... Kate is going home. ― he said desperate, now trying to get up from the stretcher. “I need to go back to Kate.” the rescuer opens the ambulance door and Natalie had to let go of his hand.
“Hey, William... Look at me, I'm sure Kate will wait for you, won't she, Nat?” the second rescuer said calmly, while fixing the serum bag to get him out of the ambulance. “Let's go to the hospital and soon everything will be fine, okay?” William nodded.
Four people pushed William's stretcher in an attempt to hide who the patient they were carrying was. Natalie got out of the ambulance and went straight to the area that the rescue doctor advised her, with the intention of not causing any unnecessary turmoil. Fortunately, that night the hospital was not so full, but to prevent it from being recognized, it was the wisest option at the time.
Prince William was taken into the hospital, where he was received by a specialized medical team, the person in charge was Dr. Daisy Wilson. The doctor received William's file; high and constant fever, nausea, vomiting, malaise, stomach pain. Emergency was called because the patient fainted. According to the physical examination, the abdomen is rigid. Diagnosis: Appendicitis.
The Diagnosis was given in minutes by the doctor after reading the clinical history and performing the physical examination, they referred William to perform an abdominal tomography and confirm the diagnosis before referring to the operating room and performing the procedure as less invasive as possible without running the risk of rupture of the appendix, but as soon as they entered the examination room William began to get sick, the air lacked and his pressure began to rise rapidly. Change of plans, they took him directly to the operating room, possibly the appendix broke.
The surgery would no longer be the same, but an exploratory laparotomy. Fortunately the Surgical Center was already fully prepared, the prince was sedated and then received anesthetic medications that kept him asleep and without feeling pain throughout the surgical procedure, The muscle tone and the contractile activity of the musculature are abolished through curarizers, he received an endotracheal probe through which the anesthesiologist, dr. Benjamin Smith, needed to maintain proper ventilation, since William was no longer breathing on his own. Dr. Daisy Wilson performs the vertical incision directly in the inguinal region and the dr. Wilson was right, it was an inflamed appendix, which broke just when they took him to the examination room. William now had an abdominal abscess, due to the ruptured appendix, the pus accumulated around, causing the appearance of a pouch filled with pus. The doctor and her team did everything they could to perform the procedure calmly and masterfully. The case was now risky, William's life was really in danger.
What was supposed to be a quick procedure lasted hours, all professionals wanted to be absolutely sure that they removed any and all remnants of infection from the abdominal cavity of the future king of England, after the scheduled intervention, the abdominal wall was closed and sutured with appropriate threads. William's blood pressure was still fluctuating a lot, so he was taken to the intensive care unit at 4:00 am.
Rob arrived at the hospital when William was still in surgery, Natalie and he were waiting in a reserved waiting room. The blonde had her head leaning against his shoulder, Rob didn't even like coffee very much, but he held a glass now empty, he ended up taking two of that due to anxiety for the lack of answers. It was around 4:15 a.m. when Dr. Wilson entered the room, she explained that William was stable and that the operation was a success, detailed everything that happened before and during the procedure, and was very frank when she reported about a possible infection due to the rupture of the appendix, but said that they were doing everything possible so that nothing got worse so now he was in the ICU and they could visit him when he woke up. Both thanked the doctor and her entire team and now with the information they gave authorization for the rest of the palace team to release the statement.
Around 07:00 am under an intense rain that fell all over the city, Charles and Camilla accompanied by their secretaries arrive at the hospital and everyone is taken to a reserved room to wait for William to wake up, Dr. Wilson explains again everything that happened, but this time to King Charles. He was distressed and very quiet, he limited himself to looking at anything other than his hands. Natalie and Rob also enter the room, but the deadly silence inhabits the room, no one has the courage to say anything... Everyone only thinks of one thing: when will William wake up?
The silence of the room is interrupted by Rob's cell phone, causing everyone to look at him, he gets up quickly.
“Kate?” said Rob answering the phone.
“Rob, for God's sake, tell me what's going on... I just saw a note from the palace, is that serious? Tell me it's a lie.” said Catherine desperately on the other side of the line.
“Why did you lie to her?” said Natalie looking at him with an ugly face.
“Natalie, didn't they tell you that it's ugly to hear other parties' conversations?” he replied by saving his cell phone.
“Even uglier is lying. Why did you do that?” said Natalie crossing her arms.
“They broke up, didn't they? Maybe it's not appropriate for us to keep talking about it with third parties.” he said quietly scratching the back of his neck.
“What's wrong with you? Kate would never leak any information about William. Whether they're together or not.” said Natalie touching his arm.
“You're right, Nat.” he said pulling her by the hand until they entered an empty room.
“What is that? What is it?” asked Natalie surprised looking at his face.
“I'm desperate, Nat. I confess that I'm afraid that something will happen to him, since he broke up with her, I realize that he was bad and I didn't do anything... I should have done something. ― Rob confessed quickly, gesturing non-stop.
“I'm scared too, but it's not our fault. He had a broken appendix, Rob... This has nothing to do with sadness, we couldn't predict it.” Natalie replied holding his hand.
“Thank you for being the best work partner, without you I couldn’t." said Rob pulling her for a hug.
“Without you I couldn't do it.” Natalie whispered while hugging Rob.
Buzz and movements could be heard from inside the room reserved for royalty, while waiting for some news from the Prince of Wales, the private secretary of King Charles left the room to walk a little and came across Catherine leaning over the information desk.
“He's my boyfriend, ma'am. I just want information! Can I please look for Natalie Barrows or Rob Dixon, they know me.” Catherine said almost crying.
“I'm sorry, we can't pass on information to third parties. Even more so when it comes to members of royalty.” said the lady already getting impatient.
“Please! Rob told me he's here, just show me the direction I'm going to look for myself.” Catherine insisted.
“Please don't insist! There is a protocol.” you said coldly.
“Please!” said Catherine almost screaming and hitting her hands on the counter. You looked at her angrily.
“Miss, this is a hospital, please, without scandal.” said the lady, pointing to the exit door.
Catherine decided to pick up her cell phone and dial Rob's number again, when Clive Alderton touched his shoulder.
“You are Ms. Kate Middleton, isn't it?” he asked softly.
“Yes.” she replied with her head. “Why?”
“Come with me.” he said he pointed to a corridor in the eastern area of the hospital.
“ Are you from William's team?” she asked and began to follow him, while the hospital employee looked at them in disbelief.
“No, I'm on his father's team.” he replied softly.
“How is William?” she asked.
“I'll take you to Natalie and Rob, okay?” said Clive.
“Just tell me if he's okay, please.”Catherine insisted
“Maybe you'd better talk to Natalie, but don't worry so much. He's being treated.” he said stopping at the door of a room. “Wait here, please.” Catherine nodded and waited.
Less than a minute, Natalie appeared at the door and Catherine practically jumped on her lap, both hugged.
“Nat, what happened? How is William? Have you finished the operation yet? Don't you dare say you can't tell me, please.” said Catherine in distress.
“Ah, Kate! He's already had the surgery…" said Natalie.
“And is he okay? Can we see him?” she said squeezing the bar of her coat.
“No, calm down... It's complicated... He had appendicitis and the appendix ruptured, in the surgery they removed everything they could, but he was referred to the ICU to contain a possible infection... The surgery ended at 4 a.m. and he went there and so far he hasn't woke up. ― Natalie tried to sound as calm as possible.
“Oh my God!” said Catherine crying. “What time does he wake up?”
“We are waiting. The doctor said they are evaluating every hour. His body needs to respond to medicines, you know?” Natalie replied drying her tears. “Calm down, Kate.”
“How did this happen, Nat? Sunday we saw each other, he took me home, I asked him if he was okay and he didn't want to answer me... I should have noticed, brought him to the hospital before” Catherine cried on Natalie's shoulders.
“William disguised it for everyone who was in pain, he didn't want to go to the doctor, he was sick all day... It's no use trying to find a culprit now... There is no one.” Natalie caressed her back when the door opened.
“Catherine?”
“Oh!” Catherine let go of Natalie's hug and wiped her eyes. "Your Majesty," said Catherine, looking in the direction of Charles.
“Hello, my dear!” he said extending his hand to her. Catherine shook her hand respectfully.
“Hello, sir.”
“What are you doing out here? I was even surprised that you weren't here when I arrived.”
“I was warned this morning, sir. They weren't letting me in.”
“Enter right now and I will ask Clavis to let you know that you can have access at any time you want.”
“I can do that, sir.” said Natalie.
Charles led Catherine into the room, she greeted Camilla and the other people present in the room, the king began to tell in more detail what the medical team had reported and what the concerns were.
It was past 11:00 a.m. and no change in William's clinical condition, the king and queen's team wanted them both to go home and pass the updates by phone, but no one wanted to leave the hospital. Harry sent messages all the time, even though he knew there was no new news. Catherine had already cried and prayed that everything would be fine and that William would wake up but she felt that everything was in vain, the hours did not pass and everything was a nightmare.
Each time the door of the room opened it was a new expectation, but all disappointing because the doctor had no positive updates. Always the same thing: fluctuating pressure, constant fever.
“Is he in pain?” asked Catherine interrupting the doctor.
“He's sedated. You don't feel pain. We are monitoring so that when your body responds to the medicines we can remove the sedation little by little.” replied Dr. Daisy.
“Our forecast is to leave another day in the Intensive Care Unit and tomorrow after new exams, we will wean from sedation and ventilation to see how his body reacts. I advise you to go home and any news I will make immediate contact.” added the doctor.
King Charles asked a few more questions and even dissatisfied his team advised him to leave, Camilla had to convince him to go home with the intention of resting so that when William woke up, he would be fine to pay attention and take care of him.
William's team also organized to leave, all hospital contacts were up to date, the only person who did not move from the chair was Catherine. She felt unable to move, it seems that now she was finally realizing that William was sick, that he was unconscious and with an infection considered worrying.
The way the doctor spoke sounded calm and confident, but if you analyze it well, it's desperate. Everything seemed inaccurate, they were counting on luck and Catherine became aware of it at the very moment when everyone began to get up to leave.
Catherine did not want to leave, because she simply did not want reality to knock on her door, she was aware that from the moment she stepped outside the hospital she would feel the guilt invade her heart. William was admitted to the ICU and she still hasn't had a chance to talk to him, she can't apologize and can't say she loved him, at least one last time. William couldn't die. Catherine couldn't leave him here. I just couldn't. It may even be selfish, but after so many promises and everything they lived together... Ending up like this is not an option.
“Kate? My friend, come here!” August said hugging her.
“August! What are you doing here?” she said relieved to finally see him.
“I met Natalie at the hospital door and she authorized her to come here, everyone is already going. We have to go too…"
“No, August! I can't... I can't leave him here... What if the worst happens?” she said starting to cry on August's shoulder.
“No, no, no! That's not going to happen! Kate, listen to me.” August said and holding her by the shoulder to make her look into his eyes. “We need to think positive, okay? Send him positive energy... William is strong, you know that! Let's go home, okay? Rest... Eat a little and tomorrow when we have news, maybe we'll come back here. It won't do any good for you to sit in this room. Will wouldn't want that.”
“I can’t." I said in the midst of tears “I feel so guilty, he's there and I couldn't even say how sorry I'm, I couldn't say how much I love him, he felt so much pain and I couldn't even help him…"
“He knows, Kate! He knows you love him. Let's think about the things you will tell him after he wakes up. You'll be able to apologize and start over, okay? Let's think positive.” said August kissing her forehead. Catherine hugged him again and he took the opportunity to drive out of the hospital. They walked slowly to her car, it was already dark and a very cold drizzle was falling on the city.
“How did you come?” asked Catherine.
“Arthur is there!” replied pointing to the red car. Arthur waved.
“What about Luke?”
“We left it with my mother.”
“Very kind of you to do this!” she replied by hugging again.
“Friend, we are all here for you and William. Your mother, your sister, everyone is very worried... Natalie did everything, kept us informed so as not to overwhelm you... Even Harry called me. Come on, let's go to your house, it's very cold here.” August completed and got in the car. August drove to Catherine's apartment, Arthur followed them.
Catherine had the best friends in the world, as soon as they arrived at her apartment, Arthur prepared something for dinner, August began to set the table, while she went to take a shower and change her hospital clothes. The worry did not leave her for a minute, but being with her friends and feeling the love of her friends and family through messages helped her put up with everything.
Wednesday
At eleven o'clock in the morning, Catherine received a call from Clive Alderton, informing her that King Charles would go to the hospital to visit William and asked if she would like to join him. The answer was obvious and as soon as he hung up the phone he started to cry.
At first, she thought that William's father would not include her in the group of people who had access to the prince's clinical condition, but fortunately he made her aware of everything. Charles loved Catherine and it was clear that he had no idea of their breakup, at the same time that Catherine wanted to tell the truth every time he hugged her yesterday, she was afraid to say anything and the king would take her out of the room because she would no longer be ''part of the family''. No employee or friend of William even mentioned any fight or breakup of them, but it was very clear that everyone was faithful to the prince.
Catherine arrived at the hospital at the time she was instructed and was taken directly to the same room as the day before, the King along with his private secretary and Rob arrived a few minutes later.
Everyone greeted her and she noticed how dejected Charles looked, she can't help but give him a tight hug that he gladly accepted, soon Dr. Daisy Wilson arrived with the news that everyone was waiting for.
“Fortunately, His Highness has been progressing, the body is accepting the medicines well and the fever has ceased, we have already started weaning from sedation and ventilation and until then his body has been reacting positively. The forecast is that he will wake up by the end of the day. There are still signs of infection, but we are well advanced in the recovery process, so there are not so many risks... We can release a person to enter the ICU to see him, a friendly presence known to the patient usually helps in recovery.” said the doctor with her calm and angelic tone of voice.
“That's good, isn't it?” said King Charles.
“That's great news! He is evolving very well!” answered the doctor.
“And when will Your Majesty be able to see you?” asked Clive. Catherine sank into the chair.
She knew it was obvious that it would be his father who would see him, not her... But she felt that William needed her.
“In a few minutes.” the doctor smiled gently.
“I'd like to come in too.” said Catherine looking at the doctor.
“Unfortunately we can't, it can only be one person. William has an infection and we also have other patients, we can't fill the ICU. ― replied the doctor. Catherine nodded, arguing wouldn't solve anything.
The doctor withdrew informing that soon a nurse would prepare Charles for the visit. Catherine sat in the armchair and didn't say anything else, she didn't even raise her head, her eyes were fixed on the ring that William had given her. As soon as the nurse entered, she silently said goodbye to the king with a smile and a discreet nod and began to walk aimlessly through the hospital.
Catherine was not of the religious type, she attended church only on commemorative dates, but when she came across in front of the hospital chapel, she did not think twice before entering. The chapel was small, only 8 wooden benches fit in that space, a small and rustic altar in front of a large cross, some lit candles deposited on the candlestick on the left side, she entered and sat on the second bench.
Everything was so peaceful inside that place, Catherine looked at the cross and allowed herself to empty her head. His heart was distressed and looking at the cross, even though he didn't know for sure how he mentally did his most sincere prayer.
''Sir, everyone deserves a second chance, make William feel good. Maybe it's not our destiny to be together, but William deserves to live, the world won't be the same without him. The Lord knows his heart, the Lord knows how good he is, make her well, please.''
Catherine made her prayer in the midst of tears, and has no idea of the time she stayed there crying in silence, because she completely lost track of time. She was interrupted by Rob sitting next to her, she leaned her head on his shoulder and were silent for a while until Rob said ''He didn't wake up'', she squeezed his arm and closed her eyes. Everything seemed like a nightmare.
“I wanted so much to see him. I feel... I feel deep in my heart that I need to talk to him.” she said softly with her eyes closed.
“Catherine, come here.’ said Charles at the door of the chapel. Upon hearing his voice, Rob and Catherine looked back scared, they were not waiting for him there. They both jumped up. “You'll see him!”
Chapter 11
“'Aying myself to be yours again would be to give myself to this bond so strong and so intense that my heart created for you.'' THE END ― Part II”
Catherine was preparing to enter the Intensive Care Unit, a nurse gave her a proper outfit and gave her all the necessary information according to the protocol. Her heart beat hard and she controlled her breathing, she would finally see him. Obviously it was not these conditions that I wanted to find him, but just having the chance to talk to him was already a great advance... There's so much to be said, things that maybe he wouldn't have the courage to say if he had looked into his eyes.
The door opens and Catherine is allowed to enter bed 01, William was lying on a hospital bed, covered by sheets as white as snow, surrounded by machines and the only noise in the room was from the devices that controlled his heart rate and blood pressure. His face had a calm face and his chest went up and down calmly. His body no longer needed the use of any help from mechanical ventilation, although the air mask was there in case he needed it. It was like William was sleeping, but why didn't he wake up? Why didn't you open your eyes? It wasn't supposed to be like that.
She approached walking slowly, sitting on the chair next to the bed. First he touched William's face, his soft skin was warm, she made a slight caress with her fingertips the way he always said he liked, after that she took his hand, caressing lightly. Catherine looked at William's sleeping face and took a deep breath to create courage. William's heart beat slowly, calm and calm. Tum-tum. Tum-tum. Tum-tum.
“Oh, my love... I know you can hear me, and maybe I'll finally be able to tell you everything I couldn't before... William, I want to ask you for forgiveness! Forgive me for breaking your trust, forgive me for neglecting our love, I even thought that love had cooled, but now I know that I drowned you myself with my confusions, you have always been there, being you... In the little things showing your love and you never feel as much love as in a situation like this. You love yourself with that desire to love more and more... And I love you, I love you so much... I've planned a life with you, we've talked about it several times, haven't we? I'm willing to do anything for you and I want to learn even more by your side... So I need you to fight! You still have a lot to live, a lot to teach, make a difference... Work on your projects, be the prince that everyone expects you to be and that I know you are... Love, you've always loved the ways I wake you up, how I wanted to hear you say that again... How I wanted to look into your beautiful blue eyes, feel your touch, hear your voice and feel your love... Fight, William!” said Catherine still caressing William's hands, as the words came out of his mouth William's heartbeats increased, he actually felt her presence.
Catherine looked at William's face again and a tear ran down his face, Catherine got up quickly and touched his face with her free hand.
“Oh my God, did you hear me? I'm here, my love... I'm here with you, William.” Catherine whispered and the tip of her finger retraced the path of his tears, from the eye to the ear. “I was sure you would listen to me, get well soon, my love. I love you, William... I love you so much. ― she felt very subtly William move his hand in an attempt to squeeze hers.
A light touch was able to make Catherine's heart take a leap, she looked in the direction of his hand clinging to yours.
“Did you move? Do it again, William.” she said without detaching her eyes from his hands. And very subtly, he moved his hands again. Catherine smiled, a smile of relief. Never before has such a small and simple gesture had so much meaning.
Catherine walked away from William and rang the bedbell and promptly a nurse opened the door, she reported what happened and even behind the mask you can see the smile of both. The brunette kept talking to him, while the nurse evaluated William.
“His blood pressure is great, no fever and his heart rate is very good. Notice here,” the nurse pointed to a monitor. “that he is doing everything alone, we left the air mask just as a precaution. The medications make him more sleepy, they may have been a factor that contributed to his delay in waking up... It's a matter of time for him to wake up.” added the nurse.
“Come on, William... All that's missing! We're all looking forward to seeing you.” said Catherine.
“I'm sorry to say that the visiting time is over, but you can come back tomorrow, maybe by then he wakes up. He's been progressing very well.” said the nurse. Catherine nodded.
“Bye, my love. Get well soon so we can go home.” said Catherine and slowly she leaned in the direction of William and put a kiss on his shoulder. And slowly let go of his hand.
The moment she walked away, William opened his eyes. Still a little confused and sleepy. Catherine could not contain her tears, the nurse next to her signaled for Catherine not to say anything, just let him get used to the environment, maybe his mind was still a little confused after everything that happened.
“Hello, William! Do you know where you are? I am nurse Carly, we are taking care of you here at King Edward VII Hospital. Can I take this mask off your face? You don't need her anymore. ― said Carly looking into William's eyes. He nodded a little confused.
“I'm going to take off the mask and then I want to surprise you.” said the nurse winking at Catherine. “I'm sure you'll love it.” The nurse gently approached William and removed the oxygen mask from the prince's face, measured his pressure again and fixed the serum support. William was very quiet and looked at the nurse. “Very well, now I'm going to give you my surprise that you were an excellent patient... Look what a beautiful girl I have here…"
Catherine turned around the bed and stood next to the nurse, as soon as William put his eyes on Catherine, he opened his mouth but did not make any sound, her beautiful eyes lit up and all she did was cry.
Four days later
Announcement from Kensington Palace
After a detailed evaluation this morning, the Prince of Wales' medical team discharged him from King Edward VII Hospital, but remains under medical supervision.
The prince is comfortable at rest and recovering from the surgical procedure at Kensington Palace.
Kensington Palace
“Kate?” called William.
“Hi, angel.” replied Catherine.
William raised his head and saw Catherine sitting on the floor at the foot of the bed, she scribbled a notebook.
“What are you doing?” he asked curiously.
“I'm finishing drawing you.” she got up and sat next to him on the bed. “You and Luke, actually.”
“You are so talented.” he said and Catherine smiled in response.
Since the day Catherine visited him in the ICU bed and he woke up, she practically did not leave his side, went to visit him on the days that followed and accompanied him on his way home, but they did not talk. Catherine wasn't sure if William had listened to everything she said and he didn't even touch on the subject.
Catherine visited him every day in the hospital and there they were always surrounded by people, now that she was discharged from the hospital to continue with the recovery at home they would have more privacy to talk about, they just lacked the courage to address the subject. William was still digesting everything that happened, after all the pain he felt, surgery and postoperative he felt physically weak, but at the same time he felt renewed and waited for an opportunity to talk to Catherine.
“Do you know what I miss?” asked Catherine putting the notebook on the bed and caressing his face.
“Of what?” he said closing his eyes when he felt the touch of her hands.
“To kiss you.” she replied softly. William opened his eyes to face a pair of green eyes looking with expectation.
“Do you know what I miss?” asked William without turning from her eyes.
“Of what?”
“To have you.” he replied softly. Catherine looked at him confused.
“But you have me, I'm here.” said Catherine squeezing his shoulder.
“Will things go back to the way they were before?” he asked. William moaned in pain as he got up to lean his back against the head of the bed, Catherine got on the bed and sat in front of him.
Catherine could not be more relieved that they finally talked and felt grateful that he had taken the initiative to bring up the subject. Maybe she didn't take the fate she wanted, but she could never say she didn't try.
“No.” said Catherine smiling. “I don't want you to come back like before... I want it to be even better... William, I don't know if you heard everything I told you in the hospital, but if you have to, I'll say it all over again…"
“I heard... Well, in parts... I can't explain it…" said William quietly. Catherine smiled.
“Will, I don't want to neglect our love. I now understand that love needs to be cultivated, nourished and preserved and that this does not depend only on one of us, but on both... Together. When you were in the ICU, first they didn't let me in... It was your father who went, so I started walking through the hospital until I got to a chapel... I made a prayer... For you.” Catherine spoke looking into his eyes. “I asked you to have a second chance, even if it wasn't our destiny to be together. You are so good, an amazing human being and you are the man of my dreams and know that I would open my hand to be with you if that is the reason for you to stay alive, I can't imagine a world where you don't exist, you know?”
“Kate... You are the reason why I wanted to stay alive, I wanted to wake up because I heard your voice, I felt you. You inspire me, give me strength and make me want to live, make me want to be a better person, even though I don't deserve you... I want you, because you are everything to me.” said William holding her hand.
“I love you.” they said at the same time and started smiling. A smile that turned into a laugh.
Laugh that made William's belly hurt and made Catherine pull the blanket to caress his abdomen his chest, Catherine got even closer to his body and when she raised her head, her face was very close to his, she touched her lips with the tip of her tongue and in a subtle movement, he tilted his head slightly, rubbing his lips on hers, contoured with his tongue his mouth, his eyes closed, eternalizing in the memory every word spoken by both. She breathed deeply, anticipating the sweet and tender kiss that was reciprocated and both felt the weeks they spent distant dissolved in a passionate kiss.
As Catherine anticipated her vacation to stay with William, Matt was covering her demands, the friendship between them remained intact even with everything that happened, everything was just a misunderstanding and both knew how to separate the differences to keep the professional environment a pleasant place. Keeping friendships does not mean acting in the same way, both Catherine and Matt changed some attitudes and established some limits and when Matt learned that William had been hospitalized he was the first to make himself available to replace her at work, although the prince does not feel as much affection for him as She was equally grateful for her kindness. Elisa, Mr. Newton's secretary, finally found the courage to open up and confess her attraction to Matt, who wasted no time in investing in a new relationship and Catherine's absence was contributing to the unfolding of this relationship.
Catherine's first official engagement with William representing the crown was a success, there were several articles and photos about the engagement at Liverpool University Hospital and when John saw the news related to that day, when he saw the photos of her and the way she behaved next to William he realized that he would never have her back and even if she did not stay with the prince, she would never look at her that way, so he finally decided to put an end to that obsession. After serving his sentence in prison, John never intended to do anything to hurt her again but still kept a lot of interest in her life, Catherine was like a drug to him, addictive and destructive. He decided to start his life again, he no longer wanted to feed this interest in her, because he knew that everything could cross the line, as has happened before, but he would never be able to start over by seeing her face every day in newspapers, magazines and tabloids... The labor market was scarce and his reputation in London was not the best, finally he decided to restart his life away from everyone and left for France. John no longer had friends and many family members no longer talked to him, so he just had to say goodbye to his parents.
Catherine did not look for him and this was a great relief for everyone, including John. The great irony of fate is that on the same day he embarked for France bound for the city of Avignon, she burned the two drawing books. In a way, this marked the end of the story.
1 month later
Chelsea, London
The small shapeless and white forms falling lightly over almost all of London slowly but incessantly causing the streets and roofs to be covered by a thick layer of ice. The temperature was very low, to say it was cold was an understatement, but none of this was a problem for the occupants of the Old Church St Street apartment.
“Unfortunately it's snowing a lot, I won't be able to go home.” said William with a smile on his face.
“What sad news.” Catherine replied smiling too. “You'll have to sleep here.” William took her hand and pulled her closer to him and opened the curtain.
William and Catherine were stand in front of the window of her apartment, the snow fell slowly, the pole light dimly illuminated the small blocks floating slowly, a delight for the eyes.
In the corner of the room there was a large Christmas tree, decorated with small golden balls and bows of the same color. Small lights around the tree blinked in a lively rhythm illuminating everything. On top of the fireplace and on the shelves several and Christmas ornaments made the environment even more cozy and special.
“We can turn our Christmas Eve into something special, since you're going to Sandringham tomorrow.” said Catherine quietly leaning on his chest.
“Excellent idea, my love.” said William kissing her shoulder.
“I have some ideas in mind.” said Catherine turning in front of him.
“I love your ideas, you always end up naked and that's perfect.” said William smiling kissing the tip of her nose.
“William…" said Catherine.
“Love, it's been more than 2 months.” William replied leaning his forehead on her shoulder. “Damn appendix. I miss having you like this.”
“I miss it too, love…" said Catherine caressing the back of his neck. “We can have all this today, but let's first celebrate our early Christmas, what do you think?”
“I think it's perfect.” said William.
Catherine pulled him by the hand and took him to her room.
“Sit here.” Catherine said and pushed him to sit on the bed. William obeyed. He didn't lie when he said he loved her ideas, because she always made the best surprises, regardless of whether there would be sex or not, he loved to be surprised by her.
“What are you going to do? ― asked William when he saw her enter the closet. "Wait a minute," she said opening the closet door. William waited anxiously.
“Close your eyes! ― said Catherine entering the room with a large box in her hand. William obeyed her as usual. She approached stopping in front of him and put the box on his lap. “You can open your eyes.” she smiled in expectation. “It's kind of silly, but it will be a moment of our own.”
William opened his eyes and saw a very beautiful red box and smiled now looking into his eyes, she motioned for him to open the box and he promptly undid the loop and removed the lid revealing the contents.
There were two hand-knitted wool sweaters in red, two pairs of colored socks, a small picture painted by Catherine, another wrapping and an envelope.
“Oh, my love!” exclaimed William taking the gifts out of the box. First the sweater.
“One for me and one for you... Just like the socks... So we can watch movies. I was going to give it to you another day, but we can use it today, what do you think?” said Catherine sitting next to him.
“Of course we can, I love you in red.” he replied by looking at the details of the sweater and socks. He carefully put them on the bed and took the envelope.
“The letter I prefer you to read it alone.” she said timidly.
“Did you know that I also wrote a letter to you?” he said touching her face. Catherine smiled. “I'll read it later.” he put the envelope inside the box again and took the painting. A painting of the 13 shields of the Aston Villa from the first to the current shield. “How perfect, I loved my beautiful. Thank you.” said William in amaze, putting a peck in her mouth.
“I think you like the latter more.” she said smiling. William opened the package and can't help but laugh.
“I can't believe it!” he said lifting a retro Aston Villa shirt. “Love, how did you do it? I've been trying to find this one for years.” he analyzed all the details of the shirt, his eyes shone with excitement and Catherine looked at him in love, seeing him smile like that confirmed how it was worth all the effort to get the gift.
“I have my contacts…" she smiled. “Did you like it, Wills?” he took the box off his lap, got up and pulled it to himself.
“Kate, you're perfect, I loved everything.” he said kissing her hands. “Thank you.”
“I'm glad you liked it.” replied Catherine. William pulled her gently and deposited several kisses on her face and lips.
William couldn't stop smiling while keeping his shirt, painting and envelope in the box. Catherine took her sweater and her pair of socks to wear. The prince took off the sweater he was wearing to dress his pair.
“Love, come here…" called Catherine. William went behind her into the closet and saw her standing in front of the mirror and stopped behind her. “We're so cheesy, but I loved it.” she said laughing.
“You look beautiful.” he hugged her from behind and put a kiss on her neck. “What else do you have in mind?” Catherine smiled looking at the image in the mirror.
William and Catherine wearing the same sweaters and wool socks prepare a small dinner together, drinking wine and talking about various subjects. He had the gift of turning a casual conversation into something unforgettable and every time he made her smile, she felt something warm inside her.
Now there, sitting on the living room floor while watching a Christmas movie, William and Catherine were able to experience once again the nuances of love.
Sandringham, Norfolk, United Kingdom
William took off his scarf and sat on the chair as he opened the envelope and removed a small handwritten letter.
Dear William,
This year I learned that in this life things change very quickly, one day everything is great, the next it's not good at all, I learned that it's too easy to fall in love, but it's not that easy to stay in love. I learned that love is a daily choice.
I chose you, William.
And I want to choose you every day.
Merry Christmas, my love.
With love,
Catherine
West Berkshire, England
Catherine was sitting in her room at her parents' house and held a small golden box with an envelope addressed to her, it could only be William's. She smiled as she removed a small handwritten card from inside the envelope.
Catherine,
I love the way you look at me and how you care, I love your ideas and your advice.
I love being with you and I miss you when you're far away.
This year was intense and I thank you for spending a good part by my side, especially in the moments when I needed it most,
You inspire me and enchant me, I love the story we are building together so much.
I love you.
Merry Christmas!
Lots of kisses,
William
She couldn't help but smile, kept the envelope and undid the noose from the box to open it. William presented her with a beautiful pair of green amethyst earrings with diamonds. The prince made the right choice, Catherine loved the gift and without thinking twice took the phone to call him. William answered right at the first touch, she thanked for the gift and wished again a merry Christmas, they talked briefly about how great the day was being and how much they missed each other. The prince had to end the call, because he had some royal duties, but promised to return calmly later. They both spent an excellent day in the company of their family members.
At the end of the night, William returned by FaceTime.
“Love, I found out that you didn't receive the complete gift.” he said leaning over the office desk.
“Really?” she said curious.
“Yes, they forgot to take it to another box.” he said head down.
“And what's there?” she asked curiously.
“Try to guess.” said William smiling.
“Is it a shoe? A bag? A bracelet?” Catherine began to say everything that came to her mind. William started laughing.
“My God, you'll never guess.” he replied laughing a lot, holding a gift box where a pair of binoculars were wrapped.
“Tell me what it is, then.” said Catherine pretending to be angry.
“I prefer to surprise you, tomorrow I'll give it to you.” he replied by opening the drawer to store the gift and the black velvet box caught his attention. Without her seeing it, because he had the camera on in a video call, he opened the box revealing the blue sapphire ring that belonged to his mother Diana.
“What are you doing?” she asked confused. William closed the drawer and smiled looking at her.
“Love, what do you think about taking a trip to Kenya? I know a chalet there that I'm sure you'll love to visit.” said William making Catherine smile once again, having no idea of the surprise he was preparing and that this trip would change the whole trajectory of his life.
Epilogue
“Christmas Eve Eve.”
The film was already in the credits, when William leaned his elbow on the improvised mattress in the living room to check if Catherine was sleeping.
“I thought you were already sleeping.” said William looking at Catherine who smiled at him. She ran her right hand over his face.
“Of course not, we still have more things to do, don't we?” she replied and ran her index finger through William's lips.
“Hummm…" that's what William just said when he felt the touch of Catherine's finger in his mouth. He gently turned Catherine's body so that they were facing each other and slips one of his hands down her neck, making her sigh. They haven't had sex for a little more than 2 months because of the breakup, surgery and recovery. During the recovery they had some intimacies, but it was very limited because William could not make any kind of effort on medical recommendation. “I miss you so much... I had to lose you all this time to find out that I can't lose any more day, you are all I want.”
No other man was like William, in Catherine's view. No other man knew how to touch her and knew her body like him and upon hearing that statement, a little reluctant Catherine moves away from the prince's caresses and kneels on the mattress looking into his eyes.
“Take off your clothes.” she said softly. William doesn't say anything, he just smiles without ceasing to look into her eyes.
William sits on the bed and takes off his sweater, when he was going to throw it on the couch, she takes the blouse from his hands and inhales it to feel his perfume, he also takes off his shirt, she does the same and then throws them on the couch and approaches him again. Catherine touches William's neck and slowly goes down her fingertips through the hot skin of his abdomen, his body shivers all over when he feels her delicate touch.
His hand reaches the waistband of his sweatpants and William gets exciting, but he raises his hand again to his shoulder and pushes him lightly so that he lies down. He obeys and as soon as he lies down she approaches again kissing his shoulder, then his naked chest, his belly and when he gets down there again, she caresses his waist and with both fingers on each side makes the mention of removing the fabric. William understands the message and takes off his pants.
“I want to see you too.” said William caressing her waist. Catherine smiles.
“You like red, don't you?” she said taking off her pants. William laughs devilishly.
“I love it.” said William massaging her thighs. Catherine slowly removes the sweater revealing her cropped lingerie in red tulle, the bra has no bulge, only a rim held the lining with strappy details drawn on the bra valued her small breasts emphasizing and leaving them flashy. Her marked silhouette made the color and shape perfectly adjusted to the brunette's body, her tiny lace panties provided the sensuality and pleasure in the right measure to enchant William even more, who when contemplating the body of his beloved loses his breath and already felt the pleasure inflate for her. “What a wonderful sight, you are perfect.”
Catherine seeks the words again, her green eyes fixed on the blue of William who kneels on the mattress next to her and descends her left hand slowly behind her back, stopping at her waist. That seems to have awakened her, giving Catherine the ability to speak.
“I need you.” Catherine could, but she didn't want to resist anymore. His whole body longed for him. Catherine climbs her hands through William's wide and strong chest, where she loves to let herself stay after making love to him. She continues the path of her fingers through her neck, reaching the face she loved to kiss so much. William delights in her touches and does nothing to interrupt or rush her. He's there. She's there. May everything happen in the time it takes to happen. The prince turns his face a little and kisses the palms of her hands, making her smile. Catherine slightly scratches the back of her neck, bringing her face closer and closer to his. William loved the way she looked at him and as soon as he felt her lips press his, he wrapped her around the waist and kept her stuck next to him as they kissed. A kiss of longing, of despair, of hope. A kiss of all the nuances of love.
“You drive me crazy.” Catherine sits William's words reverberating in her heart. All her senses are awake, she takes a deep breath. She loved him. A lot. She wants him by her side, sharing the days, the afternoons, the nights, the smiles, the tears and everything else that comes along the way. It's his smile that she wants to find at the end of the day. It's his hug she wants to receive after a difficult time.
“Happy Christmas Eve.” she whispers with sweetness and horniness. In the right measure to drive him crazy. She closes her eyes and puts her head on his shoulder, hugging and letting herself be hugged.
“Happy Christmas Eve.” he responds affectionately, very close to her ear.
When she feels a caress on her neck, she raises her head and opens her eyes, come across William's blue. Catherine finds certainties there that she didn't even know she was looking for.
“I missed you so much, love.” he confesses while kissing your neck.
“Finally let's kill this longing.” she replied and kissed him again.
Her kiss makes him sigh. Her kiss makes him forget everything. The intensity of the kiss increases, the two want each other a lot. Their bodies miss each other, they keep kissing until he sits down and accommodates her on top of him. Catherine throws her head back as she feels William's mouth sliding down her neck and going to her shoulder, going through her skin with kisses and caresses. His hands walk through every curve of the slender body and feeling the smooth and fragrant skin burning with desire. As her tongues dance, Catherine scratches his shoulders pulling a loud sigh from him. She starts kissing his face, going down his neck, reaching his collarbone, one of his weak points. Rehearses a bite there and makes him take a deep breath by letting out a small moan.
William can't resist and takes his hands to her small breasts, his fingers feeling the bristly nipples, perfect in the red lace causing a reaction already visible in his box underwear. The prince soon gets rid of that beautiful lingerie that was preventing him from feeling it. When Catherine kisses him again, he fits her breasts in her hands, caressing her nipples, feeling them harden between her fingers. She moans, leaving her lips half-open and moving her hips on his lap, feeling him on his thigh.
Their looks date each other's bodies. Her fingers touch William's defined chest, her nails scratch the way to the nape of the neck, making the two sigh together. With his fingertips, the prince slides through Catherine's traces, touching her nose, the cheekbones that jump when she smiles wide, going down to the soft lips that he loves to kiss so much. Without taking that little distance anymore, she intertwines her fingers through her long and voluminous hair, pulling her into a devastating kiss.
They press their lips against each other and the bodies at the same time. Languages involve your desires. William walks his hands on Catherine's back, making her gasp and moan against her mouth. He always thought her way of surrendering was beautiful, the way her whole body trembles at his touch, how he can feel her skin goosebumps.
Without hesitation, the prince slightly scratches her firm buttocks back and forth on her back. Catherine feels her pleasure hurt, squeezing her mouth even more in William's and her fingers on the back of his neck, biting his lips hard. William firm her with his hands on her back and lay her on the bed, staying on top of her. He for a moment with kisses and caresses just to admire her.
“You're so beautiful and hot.” He smiles. “I can't help but say that.” He takes your hands and kisses each of her fingers.
Catherine holds the prince's face, staring at him, as if wanting to keep in new memories each of those traits, every little detail. In a discreet movement of the lips, a subtle smile adorns her face. A small smile, but full of meanings. A smile that William loves and can't resist. He lowers his eyes to Catherine's mouth and kisses her once again, savoring those soft lips he loves.
The prince makes a trail of wet kisses going down her chin, reaching her neck and letting himself be inebriated by her smell. Once again, she moves her head back, leaving her lap free. William goes down distributing kisses and hickeys, going further down, going through the little valley between her breasts. Catherine pulls the back of William's neck and looks at him in a mute request. He knows what she wants, he knows what she can't resist, but decides to play, climbing a little, walking with his tongue down her shoulders and leaving hickeys at points that make her shudder, marking her in places that only he would see.
“Oh, William.” Catherine moans as she feels his lips taking her breasts.” She grabs his back, moving her body to meet him. He sucks, licks and nibbles on his already bristly and sensitive nipples. The brunette pulls his nape harder, making him stop with those delicious caresses or she would surrender before he even touches her sex.
Seeing Catherine already with altered breathing and reddened cheeks, William smiles. He seeks her lips for a slow, cove and calm kiss while her hands soon get rid of his box underwear. He helps to lower the fabric and now there were only her panties between their bodies. William presses his hip against Catherine's body and sighs, looking at him, asking for him.
The long fingers of the Prince of Wales run along the side of his beloved's body, shivering her and making her almost lose her senses with the sensations of that caress on her skin. With affection, he slides her panties, dragging the fabric to her feet. In a moment of amazement, William goes all over it with his eyes, admiring the woman he has there, so close, so close to him. You would never get tired of looking at her, such a woman in her natural beauty. But her mouth thirsts for that skin. He then holds her right leg and starts kissing her delicate and small foot, goes down her calf, reaches her knee and slowly runs down her thigh. As soon as he finds the groin, he passes with an affectionate breath, provoking it and going to the left leg, kissing it for its entire length as well. Catherine moves, anxious for him, already knowing herself wet with desire.
“Will... William…" he smiles as he faces her, loving her name said in that tone of lust and pleasure.
William positions himself between her legs, kissing her sex, sucking her clitoris, making her bend her body and close her eyes, trying to seek strength to resist and prolong her pleasure, biting her lower lip so as not to moan so loudly. The sounds that come out of her throat make William give up on teasing Catherine, he really wants to satisfy his desire to have himself inside her. Upon noticing the prince's movements, she prepares herself excitingly, holding his penis, playing with him in her agile and skillful hands.
“Fuck, Kate…" it's his turn to gasp. Catherine's caresses almost take him to heaven. He crawls over her and fits, looking her in the eye. She guides him between her legs. His eyes say so much, they talk so much and his lips are hungry, thirsty. Her tongue slides down his lips and then sucks every bit of your man's lips. The faces walk by each other, the noses touch each other with affection.
Catherine lets go of her hands and gets lost in her prince's blue eyes, finding there the same adoration as when they gave themselves to each other for the first time. The two stare at each other as he slides slowly into her, letting her feel every inch of her penis, a contact that makes the two dive so deep into each other that not even fear can reach them. The lips seek each other and meet again, they delight in each other's taste as intense as they can, while their bodies cradle at a slow and strong pace. Every time William enters it, Catherine moans between the kisses. The two are ecstatic, dizzy with pleasure, marked by love. Skin on skin. It's hard to hold back the ecstasy with each other's desire so much.
The desire is so much that the two stop the kiss and just stare at each other, with their faces very close, mixing the breaths. Their bodies guided by pure instinct, moving faster and faster, seeking maximum pleasure, allowing themselves to be guided by desire. Catherine squeezes William against her and slides her legs through his body until she lands them both on her waist, allowing him to go even deeper inside her. His nails scratch his shoulders and back. William moans a little more panting than her, almost reaching orgasm. She smiles when she sees him feel so much pleasure in satisfying himself with her.
“Will…" Catherine calls him and he opens his eyes, staring at her.
Catherine wants to dive even deeper into that blue as their bodies indulge in the magical pleasure of orgasm, squeezing it in her intimacy and feeling it squeeze her back, the way she loves it. Although small compared to his size, she was never fragile. She shuffs her fingers around the back of her neck, squeezing it. The breaths mix even more panting as their bodies collide and surrender, prolonging the pleasure of having each other. The two kiss seeking to appease their tremors and spasms. William turns on the bed and takes Catherine's body on top of his, squeezing it against him, wanting to make sure that what had just happened was really real, that she is really in his arms.
As if guessing his thoughts, the brunette sits on top and kisses him slowly, telling him of her passion while his tongues seek and meet. William lets his fingers run through his long hair, removing some messy strands that stuck to his sweaty face.
“Did you like it?” he asks with a full smile.
She contemplates him, walks her fingers through his face, skirting his lips. The man she loves is naked under her, in her house, in her life. William exists and that makes her smile. The fact that he is there inspires her to want to live every day with more commitment the duties that await her, makes her want to make small and large trips, to discover other reasons that make her have that beautiful and sincere smile.
“I loved it, William. I missed making love to you so much.”
“I am and will always be in love with you. I'm so happy that we did this again, you know?” he squeezes her even more against her body and sighs when she laps her head on her wide chest. William kisses her hair, paying attention to her every tiny reaction, which only better wraps her arms around him and closes her eyes.
“I love you.” Catherine declares herself and the prince distributes smells through her hair.
“I love you, beautiful.” A smile dances on his face.
“This is the best Christmas Eve of all.” Catherine raises her face and raises her body a little, getting closer. “Even if improvised, it's being one of our best moments this year…"
“You always have the best surprises…"
“And you…" she puts a finger on his lips and gets a kiss. “she has the most beautiful eyes in the world.
The prince smiles and is moved to hear her. Without words that can convey to Catherine the size of his love, he carefully wraps her in his arms and kisses her until they both lose their breath.
Catherine lies down again on his chest, looking for the pulse of that heart. The two are silent, enjoying each other's presence. Slowly, the fingers come together and intertwine.
The snow was slowly falling outside and everything always seemed to fit together. Christmas is magical and it's more than a date, a party... It is the celebration of a new beginning full of peace and love... And lying there, together. Catherine and William felt that way, because everything in life gets even better when you have someone to love.

Chapter 4
“Maybe things got out of control.”
Chelsea, London
A heavy rain fell that Saturday morning, making the branches of the trees swing violently, everything indicated that the winter would be harsh that year, the cutting wind whistled outside the elegant apartment on Old Church St Street making Catherine wake up. A blanket was everything that covered the naked skin of the brunette who smiled as she contemplated the figure next to her. William slept peacefully, wrapped in a blanket next to the opposite of the huge bed. Taking care not to wake the prince, he got up slowly and went to the closet.
Catherine put on William's T-shirt and looked out the window, the rain and the strong wind made her give up her plans to go for a run, with the slow steps she returned to warm and cozy bed. William moved, feeling the shape of Catherine lying down again.
The prince was face down and with his face turned in the direction of Catherine who lay on his side next to his body. The brunette looked thoughtfully at her calm face, observing her white skin dotted with small and discreet freckles, her mouth ajar, her perfectly marked jaw and those back that Catherine loved so much. William exuded masculinity and aroused something addictive inside her. The attraction she felt for him became even stronger by loving him. It was all so good and so right, that she couldn't resist the urge to kiss his skin. Catherine deposited kisses on William's back, while caressing his neck, making him sigh with his eyes closed.
Upon hearing his sighs, she stopped kissing and slowly walked away, as soon as she leaned her head on the pillow, she felt a known touch surrounding her waist. William opened his magnificent blue eyes and his whole body was warmed with the weight of that look.
“Good morning.” said William.
“Good morning,” he replied. “you weren't supposed to have woken up now.” she moved a little further away from William to pick up the cell phone. “It's not even eight o'clock in the morning.” added Catherine. The prince took a deep breath, he was still very sleepy and she couldn't resist the urge to smile when she saw his way of waking up.
“Why did you wake up so early?” he asked. His blue eyes looked even more beautiful in the morning.
“I was going to go for a run, but it's raining a lot outside...” said Catherine, starting to caress his face. “sorry to wake you up, I couldn't resist the urge to kiss you, you were so warm and so beautiful, you looked so comfortable.” William opened a huge smile.
“And were you going to go for a run and leave me here alone? What cruelty.” he said, feigning sadness. Catherine laughed.
“You were lucky today.”
“Today? My love, I'm lucky every day. ― he turned around in bed to pull Catherine closer to him. ― You really got up and even put on a T-shirt.” William's hands went up her back under the fabric. His touches were delicate, but firm. She rubbed her lips on his, which soon gave way to start a slow and soft kiss.
“Speaking of luck.” she put another kiss on his mouth. “I was wondering…” Catherine spoke, as she lay down again, her faces very close to each other, she spoke with her eyes closed.
“What were you imagining?” he whispered.
“Just the two of us, in the field... With our baby.” she said softly and opened her eyes to see William's reaction, who smiled when he heard it.
“Is that what you want?” he asked.
“Yes... “she replied.. He smiled even more. “one day I want to, what about you?”
“Of course...
“William…" she whispered.
“Kate?”
“Can I ask you something?” she said and William who was already attentive to her, nodded. “Do you really think I'm going to adapt to your world? You know I see you as just my William, but you know... If one day we... get married, I, we... will have a lot of responsibilities. I don't know if I'm capable of that.
“Love,” began William, touching her chin with his left hand. “I think you will be the most perfect princess of Wales in the history of the United Kingdom... And yes, we will have a lot of responsibilities, but let's take it on together.” he put a kiss on her forehead.
“Ah, Will.” she whispered giving him a peck.
“You know... I want to marry you, I want to make your dreams come true... our dreams and let's do it slowly... As we have already talked, but what do you think about starting to go with me on some appointments?
“In official appointments?”she asked, a little frightened by William's proposal.
“Yes, nothing too big that can make you embarrassed, you can go to something you like, like sports... What do you think?”
“But would I only go with you? Without doing anything?”
“You would participate with me, talk to the people involved there, but you wouldn't need to speak, or anything like that... If that's what makes you worried.”
“Love, do you think that's a good idea?” Catherine was not yet convinced of this.
“I'll talk to Natalie to see my schedule and you choose something that makes you comfortable, but only if you want to, okay? It was just a suggestion.”
“You make it look easy…" said Catherine smiling.
“I'm sure you'll do well.” he pulled Catherine by the waist, making her climb on his lap, the brunette lets out a cry of exclamation, but smiled at his contact and closeness. “Now... we go back to talking about imagination... Guess what I'm imagining now?”
“I have no idea.” she said feigning innocence.
“Do you want me to tell you?” he spoke seductively and Catherine nodded biting her lips.
“I'll talk in your little ear,” William pulled Catherine by the back of the neck, and began to whisper against her ear. “I was imagining, you all…” William was interrupted by the ringing of his cell phone. Both breathing frustrated by the interruption.
“It's Natalie.” Catherine said rolling her eyes, as she handed the phone to William's hand and came out of him.
“Hi.” said William grumpy, putting the phone on the speakerphone.
“Good morning, I'm sorry to call, I know you're with Kate, but it's bad news, William.” When you hear Natalie's voice, William swallows dry.
“What is it?”
“The photos went viral on Twitter, there are several gossip sites publishing biased articles…" Natalie sighed heavily. “a chaos, William.” Natalie added. Catherine hid her face in William's neck.
“Shit.” William just said.
“To be honest, there's nothing to do... We just need to wait for something more relevant to show up and soon they will forget about it.” said Natalie.
“All right, Nat. Thank you for letting me know.” said William and then hung up the phone. Silence took over the room.
‘I want to see these photos.” said Catherine, after a long silence.
‘I think we'd better not see these things.” suggested William.
“I want to see.” and with an impulse, he sat on the bed, picking up his phone.
“Ah, Kate.” William sat down, leaning his back on the head of the bed. Catherine unlocked the cell phone screen and Googled William's name and in seconds several recent articles appeared, she chose to click on The Sun link.
PRINCE WILLIAM IS CAUGHT WITH MYSTERIOUS BRUNETTE IN A BAR IN KENYA
It is no secret to anyone that the Prince of Wales loved to visit the African Continent, he makes frequent visits there, always in order to help in the preservation of the animals, but it seems that on his last visit, it was not only the Safari that caught the attention of our charming and coveted prince.
According to anonymous sources, Prince William went to a bar in the city of Meru, Kenya, accompanied by his friend Jecca Craig, where they were seen drinking several drinks, in the time he stayed at the bar, the prince flirted and danced with a mysterious brunette.
Eyewitnesses report that they talked and he invited her to dance, the two seemed very intimate.
The brunette left the bar alone and William left soon after. No one could tell if they met again.
Is this another competitor for Miss Kate Middleton?
We don't know if the prince's current girlfriend is jealous, do we? Or would it be an ex-girlfriend?
From Becky Pemberton to The Sun
Catherine looked at the four photos, where a very beautiful woman, wearing a tight dress, was smiling while dancing with William. Her hands wrapped around the prince's neck and his hands were on her back. There was no denying that it wasn't William in the photo, there was no doubt.
Sadness invaded her body, just remembering those days, her head hurt and now seeing these photos of William caused a confusion in her head, she knew he was sad, but seeing him dancing at the moment she was suffering for having gone through those terrible moments with John made her breathing fail.
“Love... stop reading, please.” said William, putting his hand under her right shoulder. Catherine blocked her cell phone screen and got out of bed.
“I'm going to have breakfast.” she said heading towards the closet.
William got up in a jump and quickly took his underwear to wear and practically ran into the closet behind her.
“Love? Were you mad?” he asked and received a discredited look from her.
“No, William, I was so happy, I'm almost jumping for happiness.” she spoke with disdain.
“Love, please, it's not my fault, I've already explained to you... I was sad, it was just a dance, it was no big deal... Catarina didn't mean anything...
“What?” interrupted Catherine.
“What, what?” said William, swallowing it dry.
“You even remember her name.” she said with disgust. William denied it with his head. “Her name is Catarina,” Catherine leaned against the dresser and put her hands on her forehead. “are you sure it didn't mean anything?”
“Love, please! You need to believe me, that's why I said it wouldn't be a good idea to read the subjects.” William said desperate, looking at her. “Kate, look at me.” she took her hands off her forehead to look into her eyes.
“William, I can even believe that there was no kiss or anything else, but there were flirtations yes... You called her to dance, made her smile, gave her hope, William. You even remember the name! There's no way I can tell you that it doesn't hurt me to see this, especially knowing that it was at the time that my life turned upside down. ― Catherine said with a choked voice.
“Love…” William took Catherine's hands and held her against her naked chest. “I would never play with her feelings, so I told you as soon as I heard about these photos. Don't get into their games, they publish these articles precisely with the intention of making us act the way they want, they plant discord to reap the chaos.”
“I want you to tell me exactly what happened.” she said letting go of William's arms. “but first put on an outfit, for God's sake.”
William was just in box underwear standing in front of Catherine who only wore his T-shirt.
“I've already told you what happened, are you sure it won't make things worse?” said William with his hands on his waist.
“Who shouldn't, doesn't fear.” Catherine spoke and turning her back, opened the first drawer of the dresser, pulling a pair of sweatpants for him.
“My plans were not to wear clothes at least until noon.” grumbled the prince, wearing his pants.
“So think better before dancing with beautiful women out there.” Catherine took off the shirt she was wearing and threw it in the direction of William.
“Don't be so cruel to me.” he said downcast, watching Catherine wear another piece of clothing.
Mayfair, London
Two weeks ago the Clarke family welcomed again the one who had been released from prison. He had his sentence reduced and was released for good behavior. The tall and now thinner man than the year before, drank a cup of hot tea, sitting on the porch of his mother's house. The rain fell torrentiously on the grass, he wore a heavy brown coat and took his cell phone out of his pocket, in his wallpaper he still had the picture of her smiling.
As soon as he entered one of the social networks, numerous stories appeared on the screen of the small device involving Prince William, a mysterious brunette and Kate Middleton.
“John, what are you doing out there? It's very cold, son! Come inside.” said a lady inside the house.
“I'm just getting some fresh air, I'll be right there, mom.” he replied, without taking his eyes off his cell phone.
When John was arrested, he did not know what happened between Catherine and William, his mother was the only person to visit him in prison and refused to talk about them. The year he spent there served as a lesson for him, but at the same time curiosity consumed him. John regretted his actions and said he was a new man, when the date of his freedom arrived, his father and mother welcomed him, but the rest of his family and friends disappeared. Even free, John felt alone. As he didn't have a job yet and lived with his parents, now with a certain luxury, he spent practically all day watching, reading and paying attention to social networks. The curiosity that consumed him a lot in prison was extinguished in the first days of freedom, because John researched everything he could on the Internet, but everything he saw was disappointing, William was a protective and loving boyfriend and Catherine seemed very happy next to him, even the stories about Jecca did not seem to bother Catherine, because they were caught together several times, but today's one seemed different. There were pictures. And for some reason, John was sure it would bother Catherine deeply.
“I can't believe he had the courage to do this to you, Kate.” John said to himself. He blocked the cell phone screen and entered the house, closing the door behind him.
Chapter 5
“When things get out of control, everything gets confused... And everyone knows that we don't rule our own thoughts.”
Despite all the tension between William and Catherine, they did not unmark any of their plans for the weekend, after a long conversation during breakfast, where the prince had to tell about four times everything that happened in Jonah's bar, she was satisfied to hear his version of the story.
Catherine knew that William was not to blame for the story and that a dance meant nothing, but this subject stirred a poorly healed wound in her heart.
As soon as he was released from the interrogation that ruined his breakfast, William went to take a shower, in other circumstances he would call Catherine to go with him, but he was already too disgusted to make this invitation. William understood her side, she certainly has every right to be upset with the lies and assumptions of the tabloids, but why the hell would she take it out on him? Aren't they together in this? In the prince's view, it was all a matter of trust.
As the hot water spilled on his body, he allowed himself not to think about anything. It was your time to relax, take a deep breath and forget all the problems for at least 5 minutes. William was spreading the liquid soap on the bath sponge, when Catherine started punching the door, he took a deep breath and felt his whole moment of peace leaving.
“The door is not locked, just open it.” William said in a louder tone, for her to hear from the other side. Catherine opened the door slowly.
“Are you already finishing?” she asked, opening the box.
“Yes, almost. - said William, rubbing his arms.” Are you going to enter?
“Only after you leave.” grumbled Catherine and walked away from the box, leaving the door open. William didn't say anything, he just touched the door so as not to wet the whole bathroom and in less than five minutes turned off the shower.
Catherine was standing outside and as soon as he passed wrapped in the towel, he entered the bathroom slamming the door. The smell of his soap was all over the bathroom, and even angry with him he couldn't help but smile at what he saw when he closed the shower door, William used the steam of hot water to write "Kate linda" inside a heart. She was the one who always left little messages in the bathroom mirrors for him.
The time she took in the shower was what he needed to get ready and realized that the best thing he could do was get out of her way, so it was with the intention of speeding up the exit, it was to take to the car the bag, the computer, the camera and a bag that she had left separate to take to her parents' house. After that, he sat on the sofa in the living room to wait for her to finish getting ready. William took the opportunity to touch his cell phone, did a quick check on the news and in William's head there were much more important things that deserved highlights on the cover of the newspapers than his own face, he was reading an article about Artificial Intelligence that he found randomly when his phone vibrated.
Harry:
I saw that the fucking photo went viral. That sucks. I hope you and Kate are fine.
William:
It sucks, but we're fine. Do you need anything?
Harry:
Shall we do something tomorrow night? I have news.
William:
Where?
Harry:
Eight o'clock in my apartment.
“Are you exchanging messages with someone? ― said Catherine standing at the living room door. William raised his head when he heard her voice.
“Harry sent me a message calling to go to his apartment tomorrow,” he said getting up from the couch and going in her direction.” it looks like there's news.
“What will it be?” she said with curiosity, William was already standing in front of her and took the opportunity to surround her waist.
“We'll have to meet him tomorrow to find out.” he said and then put a kiss on her mouth. William wanted to intensify the kiss, but she interrupted.
“Tomorrow night?” she asked. He nodded.
“Yes…" he took a deep breath. “Are you ready for us to go?” William walked away from her, putting his hands on the back of his neck.
“Did you put the blue bag in the car?” she asked, looking at him. He nodded again.
“So let's go, my beautiful?” said William, pulling her gently by the hand.
William realized that Catherine was different from the usual, but chose not to make any comment about it, deep down he knew it was because of the recent news, he has already explained his version of the story more times than he thought necessary, but he did not want to spoil the day. Going to fights at the Middleton house was not an option for him, so I would use all the patience I could not to argue.
The intensity of the rain had decreased but the icy wind seemed to have intensified that Saturday, quickly getting into the car, William soon set off for the Middletons's house with Catherine by his side. Due to the weather the traffic was slower and the trip would last around 1h20. The prince put on his favorite playlist and continued driving, humming softly, a hand affectionately placed on her thigh.
“Do you want a chocolate?” she asked, while taking out of the blue bag, a chocolate bar of a brand that William never saw.
“I want it, where is this chocolate from?” William answered. Thank you for bringing up the subject.
“I bought it at that new candy store near the Gallery. I think it's a chocolate from Brazil.” she said opening the packaging.
“Oh yes, you said you went there, I have to go with you any day.”
“The hot drinks there are delicious.” Catherine spoke without looking at him.
“So have you tried it?” he asked interested.
“Matt and I tried the hot chocolate, it's just wonderful.” she said breaking the chocolate bar in half. Without noticing that William took his eyes off the road to look at her.
“You and Matt,” William swallowed it dry and looked at the road again. “That's good. Interesting.” Upon hearing this, Catherine came to his senses in what she said. William now held the steering wheel with both hands.
“Here, love. Open your mouth.” said Catherine, taking the chocolate to William's mouth. He bit a piece of chocolate and it was delicious.
William felt grateful for the sweet taste in his mouth, but the image of his girlfriend accompanied by his co-worker drinking hot chocolate caused him indigestion. Something about Matt bothered him and he didn't want to know why.
“Very tasty, love.” commented William.
“I talk little about Matt, because we get closer now, but he is an excellent friend. I don't think you need to worry.” she said, sticking another piece of chocolate in her mouth. William stopped at the traffic light and lightly squeezed her thigh to make her look in his direction.
“I don't mind you having friends, if that's good for you. You don't have to hide him from me.” said William looking into his eyes.
“I'm not hiding, I just didn't think it was necessary to tell.” she replied.
“All right.” he said, leaning towards her. Catherine couldn't resist a sweet kiss.
The traffic light opened and William turned his attention to the road. Catherine changed the subject and kept giving her chocolates and mouth watering. William said everything was fine, but it wasn't right in his head, until they finally parked on the Middleton family property.
West Berkshire, England
The Middleton family lived in a large, luxurious and very welcoming house in the county of Berkshire, Catherine had not lived with her parents for years, but she loved to visit them whenever she could and after she started dating William, he went to attend the family home and everyone loved the prince and treated him very well as if he was already one of them.
The couple got out of the car and were greeted by the matriarch of the family that was already waiting for them, all the Middletons were present inside the house, James helped William take William and Catherine's belongings to his room, but they were interrupted by Mr. Middleton who had William's backpack taken to the guest room.
“Dad, that's not necessary. William can sleep in my room.” said Catherine.
“I don't see a wedding ring on your finger.” said Michael, indifferent. William turned red like a pepper.
“But dad, what an unnecessary thing, you know very well that I live alone and William always sleeps in my apartment.” Catherine protested.
“It doesn't matter! Under my roof, I don't want to know that, you are not married, everyone sleeps in their own room.” Michael spoke authoritatively.
“But dad, what's wrong with that? We're just going to sleep, we've slept together here several times, why is that now?” she insisted.
“Leave it, Kate... Let's obey your father.” William intervened. Then he looked at the older one. “All right, sir. Middleton, I sleep in the guest room, no problem at all.” he said, entering the room to leave the backpack. Catherine looked at her father in disbelief.
Carole, Pippa and Catherine went to the living room, James went to his room, Michael entered the room behind William.
“William, I want to talk to you.” said Catherine's father, as soon as he closed the door, taking William completely by surprise.
“Of course, you can talk.” said William, looking at him.
“We saw the news that came out today and my daughter sent us a message telling us that it was all a misunderstanding, but I want to know about you…" Michael was serious and looked directly at William.
“These photos were taken more than a year ago, they were on a trip to Kenya, at the time Kate and I were not... How can I explain it to you? We had taken some time, well... You know everything that happened. And I went to this bar, whose owner is one of my friends. And I danced with this girl, but there was nothing. It was just that. I've already explained it to your daughter and she believes me.” said William.
“I don't want my daughter to be misspoken, much less for her to suffer.”
“I love your daughter, Mr. Middleton! Since I met her I did everything to have her, I would never ruin it.” said William. “I give you my word, that I will always do everything to protect you. ― he extended his hand to the man standing in front of him.
“Very well, William. It's good to keep your word, because even if you're a prince, if you hurt my daughter you'll have a lot of problems with me.” said Michael, very serious and shook William's hand.
William had already had a conversation with Catherine's father when she introduced him to the family and Michael was always very kind to him, this time he was being very strict but it was totally understandable. William thought he would act the same way if he had a daughter.
Michael was walking to the bedroom door with William behind him, but he seems to have remembered something that made him stop with his hand on the doorknob.
“One more thing…" he said, turning to look back. “That worm came out of prison.” William's body became rigid.
“But already?” he asked with clenched fists.
“They say she's in London. She doesn't know, I don't know if we should tell her.” Michael said with a tone of concern.
“I think it's better not to worry her about it, he wouldn't be crazy to go after her again.” William said confidently.
“I don't think so either, but it's good to be attentive to this guy.” said Michael. William was going to answer, but the doorknoll turned revealing Catherine that she looked suspiciously at them.
“What are you two doing here?” she asked.
“He was just passing on to his boyfriend the rules of the house.” said Michael, leaving the room, leaving Catherine discredited behind. And upon hearing this, William decided to keep all the conversation he had with her father to himself.
“We better not annoy your father, love.” said William, kissing the top of her head.
The rest of the day went on quietly, Carole prepared the prince's favorite meals and everyone gathered around the table, no one in the family missed the opportunity to make jokes and jokes with William who always had an answer on the tip of his tongue, making the mood even lighter and more relaxed. Catherine took the opportunity to tell the news of August and Arthur, everyone was happy with Luke's arrival, Carole suggested that they could prepare a small reception party for the newest member of the family, only a FaceTime call with August was necessary to start the preparations. The women spent the afternoon together, while Michael, James and William watched a rugby game.
After the rain, the sky was partially clear, causing the temperature to drop but night appeared in a beautiful way, it was possible to catch a glimpse of some stars, Michael made a bonfire in the backyard and everyone stood around talking excitedly while they baked marshmallows. Catherine was sitting next to William who kept his arms around his body. Pippa began to tell horror stories and what was supposed to be scary ended in laughter, William on the other hand, was more convincing, told the legends of the ghosts of the Balmoral Castle property, leaving Carole goosebumps with fear.
James was the first who wanted to retire, followed by Pippa. Mrs. Middleton called her husband to rest, she knew that her daughter and William needed these moments together, far from everyone and in her vision her house was the best place where they could have privacy and create memories, so wishing a good night came out pulling by the hand Michael who entered the house grumbling loudly that they should sleep in separate rooms. William and Catherine were in a comfortable silence for a while, just looking at the flames crackling and heating their bodies while enjoying each other's company.
“I love your family, they are always very nice to me.” he said, playing with a lock of her hair.
“They loved you, including my father, even if he's weird today... What was that in the morning?” she said laughing.
“You are his princess, it must be hard for him to see you loving me.” said William and he was sincere in his speech, he knew that Michael was acting that way to protect Catherine.
“He'll have to get used to it.” said Catherine nestling even more in William.
“You know…" William started. “come here today... Being like this with you reminded me of what you said this morning.” Catherine raised her head to look at her face. “I want to live in a house like this, have many more moments like this with you... Having our children playing around the fire, hearing their laughter mixed with theirs. I've always wanted that.
Catherine was moved by William's words and soon felt sorry for having acted coldly with him all day. In a way, she felt betrayed by him and even though John's words unintentionally returned to her thoughts. Everything was very confusing, but hearing these words coming from him and that way fills a gap in his heart. Not knowing what to say and to avoid crying in front of him, she prefers to let the actions reveal what she felt and wanted exactly the same, so her warm hands hold the man's face and her mouth approaches his, in a delicate movement, Catherine captures William's lips, always receptive to her caresses.
In a slow and soft kiss, Catherine indulges in the arms of her prince, William sets his posture to attach her body to his and does not resist an involuntary moan that comes out of her mouth, the temperature of their bodies rises and she interrupts the kiss in search of air, but does not move away completely, being able to feel his warm breath on his neck.
“I think we'd better go in or your father will kill me.” he said laughing against her neck.
“I still can't believe he's going to make us sleep in separate rooms.” Catherine said laughing.
Holding hands, they entered the house and spent some more time together in the living room. Although Catherine really wanted to disobey her father's request, William did not dare to disrespect his father-in-law's order and after many kisses in the hallway, he lay on the bed of the guest room, thinking about his beautiful brunette who occupied the next room.
Catherine is walking down a street full of beautiful trees on both sides, although the temperature is high with the sun shining and the blue sky, the air is very fresh, the wind blows making her flowery dress fly and a sincere laugh come out of her lips, she feels her waist surrounded by a pair of hands, an affectionate and welcoming masculine touch makes her body shiver for feeling this proximity, the brunette slowly turns in the direction of the man to give her a kiss, the figure standing behind her is not William, but Matt. The man smiles and leans towards Catherine and when her lips will touch, she wakes up scared.
“My God!” says Catherine, sitting on the bed. Her body has goosebumps from fright and it takes her a few minutes to assimilate what she just dreamed of. Why the hell did you have this dream about Matt?
In the intention of getting this dream out of her head, Catherine got out of bed, put on her baby pink robe and put on her slippers of the same color and opened the curtain to spy on the outside, the day had already dawned and the weather was clear, she was rooting for another day without rain to enjoy a bike ride in the city with William.
Silently she left the room towards the kitchen and found her mother leaning on the counter with a cup of tea in her hand.
“Good morning, mom.” said Catherine.
“Good morning, Kate! He woke up early today.” said Carole smiling. Catherine smiled back, sitting in the chair next to her.
“Is Dad still sleeping?” asked Catherine, leaning over the table.
“Actually he went out for a walk…" Carole took a sip of tea. “You're no longer 15 years old, Kate, you can go to William's room, your father won't fight with you.” said the older one smiling, making Catherine laugh too.
Catherine spent a few more minutes talking to her mother and then went to the guest room. The door was leaning against her and she walked slowly so as not to wake him up, William slept peacefully on the double bed, she took off her slipper and stuck herself under the covers, hugging him from behind, with this proximity she can feel his woody smell, sighing with love, put a kiss on her neck.
“You always wake me up in the best ways.
“I wish I had slept with you.” whispers Catherine, kissing her neck again. “You look so fragrant and warm.”
“Love, don't do it like that…" he whispers with a sleepy voice. William turns around lying with his back on the mattress and hugs Catherine, who caresses his abdomen, his legs are intertwined.
“Why?”
“Because,” he laughs and looks down “we are at his parents' house.”
“We can solve this…" she speaks and her hands begin to slide into his shirt.
“No way.” said William, holding her hand. Catherine laughs in his desperate way.
“Calm down... It was just a cuddle.”
“I know your affections and I know how they end. I love it, but I can't do it here.” he laughs nervously. “Come on, let's get up.”
“I just came to say good morning.” she said softly. A little upset by the rejection.
“Good morning, my beautiful!” William gives several kisses on her forehead. Catherine gets out of bed, fixing her robe. William looks at her confused by the change of mood, but prefers not to comment.
After breakfast, William and Catherine left for the expected bike ride, the temperatures were low but the cold was not a problem for them. The tour was quiet and peaceful and both were able to enjoy each other's company without any interruption. At the end of the afternoon, they said goodbye to the Middleton family and returned to Catherine's apartment, where they would just leave her belongings, since they would go to Harry's apartment as they had already agreed.
Kensington Palace
At 8 p.m., Catherine rang the doorbell of Harry's apartment, with William by her side. Although I spent the day with him and it was fun, she couldn't get that dream out of her head. You still wondered why the hell you had that dream about Matt? William's small rejection also made her upset and did not contribute to her treacherous mind that began to think of infinite possibilities, making her feel guilty and sorry.
“Is everything okay?” William asked, while they were waiting for Harry to answer the door. It was possible to hear the music and a chatter coming from inside the apartment.
“Yes, yes.” she replied, standing on her toes to give a peck in her mouth, in an attempt to erase a face that appeared on her head.
William smiled while playing with Catherine's hair when the door was opened by Harry totally drunk, holding a glass.
“Ah, finally you!” Harry said euphoric, raising his arms. “Give me a hug, sister-in-law!” he pulled Catherine, who smiled politely.
Harry's apartment was practically the same size as his brother's and he always had parties there. William noticed that there were about twenty-two people and they were not all known, the music played loudly mixed with the parallel conversations. Glasses, pizza boxes and beverage bottles were scattered throughout the room. Everyone was so drunk that they didn't even notice the newcomers.
“Apparently the party started yesterday, didn't it?” Catherine said in William's ear.
“Apparently Harry never left adolescence.” William replied with sadness.
William took Catherine by the hand and went looking for his brother, who simply disappeared right after the hug at the door.
“Willy!” Harry shouted, making them stop walking and look back. “Welcome to the farewell party!”
“Farewell?” asked William.
“I'm going to Kenya.” he turned into another glass. ― That's the news. ― he said smiling silly.
“My congratulations?” said William confused. Harry was not in a position to talk.
Catherine and William interacted with the others present. She may notice William's frustration with his brother's behavior. The reason for Harry's going to Africa should be discussed when he was sober, but in Catherine's opinion, perhaps the change of air could do him good.
After the frustrated meeting with the redhead, they left the apartment where the party seemed far from over. Catherine clung to William to sleep with a lot of weight on her conscience, because she couldn't get that dream out of her head.
Another week has started, what else could happen?
Chapter 6
“Encounters and mismatches.”
“Here we are, my beautiful.” said William parking the car at the National Gallery. He took off his belt and she did the same, the prince intertwined his hand with hers. “Do you know what I remembered?” she shook her head in the negative.
“Of what?” asked curiously.
“From the day I came here and fell in love with you.” he declared smiling. “It was an opening like today's and you were so beautiful, I couldn't take my eyes off you.”
“Ahh love, how cute.” Catherine deposited several kisses on his mouth and face. “Why did you remember that now?”
“In fact, since the time I saw you getting ready for the inauguration, you look so beautiful that if I could I would stay here to participate in the event with you.” he said smiling.
“I would love to have you here.” Catherine stroked his face. William started playing with her scarf.
“Give me a kiss…" he whispered and bit her lips making her smile before starting a slow and soft kiss.
“I have to go, love.” said Catherine, separating from him slowly. William checked the time on the clock and looked at the corner to the left of the National Gallery.
“Is there the chocolate store?” William asked and she nodded.” You still have about seven minutes, let's get some hot chocolate?
“Of course!” a wide smile appeared on his lips. “You'll love it, there's a hazelnut one that I want to try.” she said very excited, getting out of the car. William closed the door and activated the alarm.
Catherine went to meet him, William put the key inside his coat pocket and fixed his black scarf before intertwining his hands with it and starting to walk towards the store.
“Matt! B-good morning!” said Catherine, blushing and feeling disconcerted. She let go of William's hand. Matt was wearing a black overcoat, his black hair messed up in a cute way, he held two glasses and a bag from the Carpo store, where they were going.
“Good morning!” said Matt smiling. “I bought you that one with hazelnut.” he said handing her a glass. “I was going to leave it at your table, but as I already found you here.” William sighed angrily, making Matt realize his presence. She thanked her smiling.
“My God, it's very tasty!” Catherine said after taking a sip of the hot drink. “Did you like it?”
“I thought it was good, but I prefer the traditional one.” he replied, taking a sip of his glass. He looked at William. “well, it's... I'm already entering, I need to check if everything is ready for the inauguration, I'll see you later.”
“Oh, huh... A-see you later.” said Catherine, taking another sip of the drink and getting even more blushing. William looked at her in disbelief as she watched Matt walk away.
“You can only be slutty.” he said bitterly.
“What is it?”
“My God, you even turned red.” he put his hands on his forehead. “Why did you let go of my hand when you saw him?”
“It was nothing, Will…" she replied, taking his hand again. “Come on, let's go to the store.”
“We don't have to go, he already got the drink for you.” he said seriously. “I'm leaving.”
“What? Why? Stop it, William. Let's get one for you.” said Catherine with a certain desperation in her voice. William let go of her hand again.
“I don't want to. Come on, I'll take you to your office and I'll leave.” William said firmly.
“Stop the drama, William.” she said angrily.
“Drama…" he laughed with disgust. “ok.”
William walked again to his car and leaned against the door, Catherine walked behind him feeling very embarrassed and confused, but she would never admit it to him.
“Love?” called Catherine. William looked at the clock again.
“I need to go, Kate.” he tried to sound indifferent. The prince was taking the key out of his pocket when he felt his body sandwiched against the car and her body. Catherine clung to him, running her arms over his shoulders.
“Don't be like that with me…" whispered Catherine, her hot breath tickling her icy face. He laughed.
William knew that she always tried to seduce him to deviate from the subjects he didn't want to discuss. And the worst that he always hosts, because his body burned with desire for her and his ego always inflates by having a beautiful woman wanting to get her attention.
“I'll take you to your living room.” he said, pulling her by the hand and in silence they walked with quick steps to the office.
“Come in a little bit, love.” she said opening the office door, gently pulling William by the hand.
Catherine left her bag hanging next to the door along with the scarf and the glass on the table to take off her coat, revealing a turtleneck dress that marked all her curves. William looked away.
“I can't stay... Have a good day, Kate.” said William, wanting to run away from her, because he knew he wouldn't resist and he was too upset to let it pass.
“Will,” now with her hands free she took him by the waist, her left hand went up to the back of his neck. “don't go before kissing me, please.”
Of course, the prince did not resist Catherine's request and started a kiss, she intensified, moving her tongue and caressing the nape of the neck the way he liked, making him shiver with the touch.
“Kate…" said William between the kiss. “Kate... stop.”
“Why?” she asked, kissing his lips again.
“We'd better stop…" replied William, without the courage to say the reason. He didn't want to confront her about Matt, because he was afraid of what he might hear. “For me I would spend the whole day kissing you, but you have something to do and so do I.”
“You're right.” said Catherine smiling at him, fixing her scarf and caressing her shoulders.
“Natalie will send you my schedule so you can see if you want to go with me on an appointment.” William said caressing her hand. Catherine nodded smiling. “Have a good day, beautiful.”
“I love you.” she whispered, giving you one last kiss. The prince left the room, leaving Catherine alone only for another five minutes, because soon she went out to meet her co-workers, after all they had an inauguration to be exhibited that morning.
William left thinking about Catherine and the way she has changed in recent days. The nervousness at seeing Matt, the way she blushed when talking to him and wondered why she hid the friendship relationship she has with him? Why do you avoid talking about him? And worst of all: Why did she let go of his hand? Did Catherine like Matt? William felt ridiculous when he remembered the scene in the parking lot, just watching the two of them talking, Matt taking a drink to please his girl. William decided to increase the volume of the music to calm his thoughts and drove to Kensington Palace, squeezing the steering wheel harder than necessary.
Two days after the publications of the tabloids about William and girl at the bar, the situation seems to have calmed down, as the Palace and no spokesperson issued any kind of statement or comment on the subject people stopped commenting, most likely something more relevant happened.
Upon entering the house, William was surprised by the visit that awaited him.
“Dad? Good morning!” he said, going to meet King Charles who was sitting having breakfast. Mary, Natalie and her father's secretary were present.
“Good morning.” replied the king.
“I didn't know you were coming, I went out to take Kate to work, has it been a long time since you arrived?” asked William, sitting in front of his father to have breakfast.
“Actually, I had scheduled to talk to Harry, but he is not in a position to talk at the moment.” Charles spoke while passing jelly on a toast.
“By the way, is he going to live in Kenya or just take a trip? Whose idea was that?” William began to serve himself.
“He asked me to spend time there and honestly I think it's a good idea. He needs to mature, have responsibility.”
“And do you think sending him far away from here is a good choice?” asked William, making everyone in the room apprehensive.
“William, have you been visiting your brother?” Charles asked looking into his eyes. “You live nearby and I'm not saying that you need to have a responsibility to take care of and watch him, but you know that his company, the places he's been going to are not good for him. Don't ignore that.”
“Harry doesn't listen to me anymore.”
“William, your brother feels alone... Before you had each other and now you have Kate. Maybe Kenya is good for him, it's a place he likes, we have good friends there, it will only be for a period.”
“Yeah, on second thought…" William replied and continued to have his thoughtful breakfast.
That cold Monday followed its course as expected, William spent the morning with his father and his brother, who was in a terrible hangover. In the afternoon, he met with his team to organize the events of the week and also some internal work. Throughout the day he did everything not to think about Catherine, she sent him some messages telling him about the inauguration and what frustrated William was her indifference to the relationship of the two, in his view Catherine was close but at the same time distant from him.
Catherine had a quiet day, even with the inauguration of the new exhibition at the National Gallery, everything went well, Matt presented the work and she followed it closely, soon after everyone went to celebrate the good news and August's farewell, several colleagues brought gifts to Luke. After lunchtime at the National Gallery, Catherine was alone in her office doing something she loved: drawing. It was the way you chose to empty your mind that was very confused.
At the end of the shift, Matt offered a ride home, but Catherine decided to refuse, because she could not feed more costumes in her head, so after saying goodbye she began to walk to Leicester Square.
The subway station was very close to the National Gallery, a quick five-minute walk to the place, but the icy wind made the route a little more unpleasant, Catherine wrapped herself in the scarf and with her hands in her coat pocket walked with quick steps, when she felt her phone ring, looking at the display she saw William's name.
“Hi.” said Catherine putting the phone in her ear.
“Hi, beautiful!” William replied panting. “I just left the gym and remembered that you don't have a car, have you left work yet? I can pick you up and take you home.”
“I'm already arriving at the station, you don't need to come love, the time it would take you to get here is the time I would get home.”
“Are you sure? You'll have to take a walk from the subway to your house and it's already dark.”
“Don't worry, love. It's quick... But then tell me, how was the conversation with your father? Are Harry really going to Kenya?” reassured Catherine by asking her questions to relax.
William started telling everything that happened this morning, while Catherine walked through the cold streets of London. The conversation had already lasted a few minutes and until she finally arrives at the station.
“Will, I'm going to board the subway, I'll call you later.”
“Okay, angel. I'll be waiting.” when she hears William's voice, she hangs up the phone and throws it into the bag to board.
By the time, the subway is empty, Catherine sits totally oblivious to everyone around her. The route from Leicester Square to South Kensington takes around ten minutes, there are only five stops from terminal 5. During this period Catherine put on her headset and got lost in her thoughts, when she arrived at her stop she went up the stairs and leaving through Pelham Street she went south to her house. It was already darker than before and the temperature seemed to have dropped even more, his steps were fast.
When she stopped at the traffic light to cross Old Brompton, she picked up her cell phone to look at the time. 07:15pm.
“Kate?!” said a voice. A voice that Catherine hadn't heard in a while. Voice that made Catherine's body rigid. Catherine looked scared to the side and was in a complete state of panic.
“J-john?!” said Catherine terrified.
“I'm sorry, I didn't want to scare you, I wasn't sure if it was you.” said John afraid. He was wearing a black jacket, he wore a hat, he looked much thinner than the last time Catherine saw him. John has always been vain and now he seemed more sloppy.
“I didn't know she was in London.” she said in a low tone, trying to regulate her breathing.
“It hasn't been long since I left... From there…" The traffic light opened so that pedestrians could cross. John waited for Catherine to start walking and then he started walking too, next to her, but not so close. “Kate…"
“I... me, I don't know what to say, John. I honestly don't think we should talk.” she said with anguish.
“I understand…" John stopped walking as soon as they crossed the street. “I just want you to know that I didn't follow you here, I just left that building there” he pointed to a building on the right side. “I went to do a job interview... I'm trying to start my life again, Kate. I'm sorry for all the harm I've caused you... I hope one day you can forgive me.” said John. Catherine was a few steps away from him, looking at John's figure not knowing what to do.
“I hope you can start over. Goodbye, John.” said Catherine in a low voice. She didn't have the courage to look at him, turned her back and walked away as fast as she could without looking back.
When Catherine turned left on Old Church St, it was a real relief, her body ached from cold and fear, hot and thick tears flowed down her face. The meeting with John was something so unexpected that she didn't even know what to think. John didn't seem aggressive, very dangerous, although she was taken by panic when she saw him, what moved her the most were his words. Why does everything he says move your head?
When you closed the door of your apartment, you can already feel the change in temperature, your head was exploding. In addition to everything he was going through, now there's more John returning to his life? Even though he seemed harmless, she couldn't be fooled by his meek words on a dark street, but unlike last year, she knew she could tell William everything and that's what she did.
While turning on the bathtub, she dialed his number, already on the second touch the prince answered. Catherine told about the meeting with John and William was desperate, it didn't take ten minutes for him to punch the door of her apartment.
Catherine opened the door of her apartment wearing a dark blue robe and a towel on her head, finding William pale with an Aston Villa jacket, he held a helmet and the tip of his nose was red because of the cold.
“Come in! My God, you came so fast! Do you want to kill me from the heart?” Catherine spoke agitated, pulling him in.
“Catherine, did this bastard follow you?” asked William, opening the jacket. “I should have picked you up, I'm an idiot…" he spoke fast, distressed.
“No, no... He was leaving a job interview, he didn't follow me. We met on the street. It was exactly as I told you on the phone.” Catherine tried to calm William down.
“I would never forgive myself if something happened to you.” said William, hugging her tightly. Making Catherine's whole body relax, tears flowed over her face. Finally Catherine felt safe.
“I'm glad you came here, I panicked when I heard his voice.” Catherine confessed.
“I'm here now, I won't let anything happen to you.” the prince kissed her forehead and stroked her back.
William loved Catherine's hair and insisted that she let him dry her hair. He banked the hairdresser and proved that he knows how to use the dryer making her laugh, filled her with love and affection. That night he was much more than a boyfriend, he was her best friend, because he wanted to erase from her mind all the feeling and bad feeling she might have had earlier. He just wanted her to feel safe and loved.
No matter how much problems they might have to face, it was more than clear that they both had each other and that's what really matters... So far.
Chapter 7
“The key to chaos. Part I”
As the days went by, the weather cooled even more, as did the relationship of William and Catherine. After that Monday, where he ran to her apartment to comfort her, things changed.
The next morning, Catherine ended up revealing that she would like to talk to John, explained that she did not want friendship, or anything like that, she just wanted to hear him, the Prince of Wales was totally against the idea, arguing that this would only bring more hurts and problems for her and forbade her to do this, generating an argument of hours, making Catherine late for work and ignore William all day.
Without the presence of her best friend, Catherine got even closer to Matt who obviously noticed that there was something wrong, making her vent to him about her relationship, about William and about John.
Catherine rarely talked about John with anyone, because it was a delicate subject, but after seeing him, she felt the need to talk about him with someone. She needed to heal her wounds to move on and to her surprise Matt was an excellent listener.
William tried to end the disagreement between the two, but even trying to resolve himself was against her desire to talk to John, in his view it would be the stupidest thing to do. He apologized and said he was just trying to protect her, but Catherine was indifferent to his opinion, moving further and further away from William and getting closer to Matt who was in the middle of everything.
In the following days, to William's misfortune he had several commitments in Wales and Scotland, which made him leave London, leaving Catherine 100% available to Matt to his total despair.
In addition to William being worried that she would go after John, or worse that he could do something against her, there was still Matt who took away his sleep, he irritated him deeply with his kindness and willingness to be Catherine's best possible friend.
It was late afternoon and Catherine was concentrated typing something on the computer, until her phone began to vibrate on the table, she gave a small smile when she saw the name of the caller.
“Hi, Nat.” he said smiling.
“Hello, Catherine, how are you?” said Natalie excited on the other side of the line.
“Everything is great and with you?” she replied, seizing in the chair.
“All right... So, we are organizing the events at the end of this week and William asked me to confirm if you are really going…" said Natalie. Catherine immediately got angry with William for sending Natalie to call her instead of doing it himself.
“I had told William that I would... Doesn't he want me to go?” asked Catherine.
“No, it's not that... It's just that we always need to organize ourselves in these events, you know?” Natalie replied fearfully.
“No, it's okay... I need William to give me a light on the way I need to behave, what I have to do... I'm afraid to go and just get in the way…" confessed the brunette.
“I can help you with that, are you free for us to schedule something?” suggested Natalie.
“That would be great! Are you with him in Wales?”
“No, only Rob went with him. Do you leave work at 5pm?”
“Yes.”
“So come to KP after work, we can talk here.” said Natalie.
“Okay.” Catherine replied excitedly. Matt entered her office with two briefcases in his hands, making Catherine smile even more. “Natalie, I need to hang up, we'll talk later.”
“All right, see you later.” Natalie replied, ending the call.
“What's that?” asked Catherine, getting up from the chair and going to meet Matt.
“I was organizing room five and found these folders and guess what's inside?”said Matt, drumming his fingers on the folders.
“I have no idea!” Catherine exclaimed, slightly pushing Matt's shoulder. “Let's do it soon, tell me what's there.”
“See with your own eyes.” said Matt, depositing the folders on her desk. Catherine looked curiously at the material and slowly opened the first folder and removed a drawing notebook, just like the one she has at home. Slowly opened the cover and was shocked by what he saw.
“My God!” your eyes fixed on the first page. “Is it me?”
“Yes, on practically every page.” he replied. Upon hearing this, Catherine flipped through the first notebook and came across several drawings of herself. In all angles and poses. She was silent looking at the drawings.
“I wonder if this notebook wouldn't be John’s." said Matt closing the notebook as soon as Catherine let go.
“P-why?” asked Catherine.
“It's just that, uh... the second notebook…" Matt turned so red that he looked away from her. “the author... Yeah, he was a little bolder.” he completed it, making Catherine open the second folder quickly.
He opened the second notebook revealing very obscene drawings, involving his person. Right on the front page, Catherine was lying on her bed totally naked. In the drawing there were all the details of his room and especially his body. John was a talented designer, there was no denying it. And even if no drawings, folders or notebooks had her signature, Catherine knew very well that the drawings were her own, Matt was suspicious because she told him her story with him.
― I think I'd better keep that. ― Catherine said quickly closing the second notebook. Matt nodded still very blushing.
― He is very talented... I know he's worth nothing, but we can't deny that he captured your essence, the most beautiful thing in you. ― said Matt softly. Catherine blushed violently.
― I... ― she swallowed it dry. ― I need to leave.
At the same moment he went to take a step towards his chair, Matt took a step forward making them collide, he automatically held her by the waist, making Catherine let out an audible sigh.
― Kate, are you okay? ― asked Matt looking into her eyes. Catherine was so close.
― S-yes. ― he whispered softly. Matt and Catherine looked at each other for a few more seconds without daring to say anything else, until she regained consciousness and moved away from him.
Matt swallowed it dry and without looking at her, said goodbye and as soon as he closed the door, Catherine threw herself on the cream sofa taking a deep breath. What just happened? His head exploded into disordered thoughts that took a few minutes sitting with his hands on his forehead to calm down.
Once you understand the basics of narrative, you don’t have to follow all of the rules. In fact, some of your favorite books that you enjoy as a reader might break away from typical narrative structure. As the writer, you have the freedom to structure your book in whatever way feels most powerful and effective, even if that means breaking some of the rules.
“Every book needs a structure, but that structure is going to be very different depending on whether you’re talking about fiction or nonfiction. Also, depending on which genre of fiction you’re talking about,” said author and publisher Noah Lukeman. “Romance might have its own demands versus mystery versus thriller versus science fiction.”
“Structure is definitely very important in a book, especially if you’re new,” said author Barbara Freethy. “… There’s a reason for the structure. There’s a reason why you want to have plot points at certain points in a book and you want to have a sense of excitement. I think when you first start out sometimes you’re doing it by instinct. I know I was.”
Kensington Palace
― Mary, I will never get tired of saying that I love your chocolate cake. ― said Catherine, putting the plate in the sink and hugging Mary. ― It was delicious, thank you.
― Ah, my dear, I love it when you come here, for me you could already live. ― said the older lady with a huge smile. Catherine just smiled at her.
― Shall we go to the living room, Kate? ― asked, Natalie also putting the plate in the sink. ― Thank you, Mary.
― Of course!
Natalie took her to the living room of William's apartment, she already knew this room very well, like everyone else in the house. Since the first time Catherine went to the prince's house, she has always been very well received and won a free pass anywhere in Kensington Palace, but the house was totally different without him there. When William was at home, it was possible to hear some music coming from his office and the women of the house were always attentive because at any moment, he could appear absolutely out of nowhere to give a scare, Mary was William's favorite victim, she always fell into all the tricks he played even though she was used to the naughty way of the eternal boy William.
Catherine loved the way William treated his employees, especially Mary, Natalie and Rob, the affection he has for his employee-friends was transferred to her who now considers them as if they were family, just like him. Natalie is one of the few younger women she is not jealous of and has developed a kind of friendship with the blonde.
Now they were both sitting on the sofa in William's apartment, Natalie explained about the institution they were going to visit and the importance of it, Catherine listened to everything carefully, took the opportunity to ask how she would refer to William, what she should say and not say.
After the long and relaxed conversation, Catherine Middleton was much more confident to participate in an official engagement with the Prince of Wales, the only problem with all this is that the two were distant from each other.
Catherine did not dare to comment on this with Natalie, because due to the rhythm of the conversation they had, William also did not make any comment to anyone about their real situation. When did things change this way? Was she the one who walked away from William? Or did William move away from her? Maybe that was even an invention of his head. Everything was fine.
Natalie and Mary were such nice people that Catherine didn't even notice the time go by and in the moments they spent together, she didn't even allow herself to think about John, let alone the drawings, which were now in the back seat of her car, her mind now thought about the clothes she would wear during the appointment, making her drag Natalie to her house in search of a suitable outfit for the occasion.
Now the darkness and the fine drizzle made Catherine wonder if she had made a good choice to wait for William at her house, because it was already past midnight and he had not arrived, Natalie had already gone to her house and Mary had already gone to lie down while she rolled back and forth in the prince's huge bed.
Tired of waiting, I didn't know if it had been a long time since the last time she looked at the clock, but she finally heard a noise of keys and steps coming from the hallway, ''can only be William'', she thought and instinctively pretended to sleep at the very moment he opened the bedroom door.
William entered the room half staggering with the cell phone flashlight on, he threw the backpack on the floor causing a muffled thud, began to walk slowly to the bed with his left hand holding the cell phone at head height illuminating where Catherine pretended to sleep, leaning on the head of the bed, the prince balanced to take off his shoes.
“There's a kitten in my bed.” William whispered and started laughing alone.
“Get that light out of my face now!” Catherine grumbled covering her face.
“Are you awake?” he asked, sitting on the bed.
“Where were you?” Catherine asked angrily. William discovered her face.
“In Scotland…" he replied laughing, but soon stopped laughing when he received a deadly look from Catherine. “ok, I went out with the guys and had a beer.” Catherine took her cell phone out of his hand.
“And was there a wife with you?”
“Not that I noticed.” William replied by getting up.
Standing William took off his coat and trying to open the buttons on the shirt, Catherine decided to turn on the light in the room.
“Do you want to see me taking off my clothes?”
“Not me.”
“Why are you like this with me?”asked William, he knelt on the edge of the bed and his icy hands caressed her face. “It's sad, you know?”
“My God, what a drama just because I said I don't want to see you taking off your clothes.” Catherine replied and William lowered his hands to her shoulders.
“Your hand is cold, William.”
“Wow, love…" William took his hand from her and slowly got up walking slowly to the closet. Catherine did not comment on anything, did not want to start an argument for the fifth time that week, even more so in the situation of William who was clearly not sober.
William spent a few minutes in the bathroom and returned to the room wearing only pajama shorts, the bath made him feel completely sober, walking normally with the control of the air conditioning in his hand and charger in another.
“Where's my cell phone?” he asked and Catherine gave it to his hand. “Can I lower the temperature a little? It's hot here.”
“Yes.” she replied, turning on her side on the bed. William adjusted the temperature and plugged his phone in.
“Now my hands are warm, can I touch you?” asked William turning off the light and sticking himself under the covers. Catherine turned in front of him.
“I didn't want you to take too long.” she said pouting and hugging his body.
“I didn't think you were coming to sleep here, I'm sorry.” said William kissing her forehead.
William realized that he had not yet kissed Catherine, so with the tip of his index finger he contoured her face, raising his chin and slowly approached his mouth to hers to start a slow and intense kiss, she ran her leg around his waist and scratched his nape, while he grabbed his hip. The air was necessary, but the prince did not want to miss this moment, so he lowered his kisses to her neck and his hands caressed her whole body.
“Will…" whispered Catherine.
“Your kiss is different.” said William, making Catherine stop caressing your shoulder.
“What do you mean different?” asked kissing his mouth.
“Huh?” grumbled William.
“You said my kiss is different. What do you mean different?” he asked again.
“Did I say that?” asked William confused.
“Yes.” she walked away from him.
“I thought out loud.” he said embarrassed. “Forget…" William approached again.
“No, now I want you to talk…" said Catherine, holding his face delicately.
“Love, I'm not thinking straight... I don't know why I said that…" William replied, kissing her shoulder.
“What do you think when you kiss me?” asked Catherine, running her fingertips through his abdomen, making him shiver.
“Ah…" said William laughing. “I think of you, what I wanted to do with you, these things…"
“It doesn't make sense.”
“Do you want me to tell you what I'm thinking of doing with you?” he whispered in her ear.
“No.” she walked away from him again.
“No?” he looked at her confused. I wanted to make sure if she was really denying it or just playing hard.
“I think we'd better not have sex without understanding each other…" said Catherine. William took a deep breath.
“What's up now?” he asked angrily.
“Nothing.”
“So that's fine.” said William visibly upset, turning his back to her, closed his eyes.
William did not insist on anything else, it was already late and tomorrow before the appointment they would have time to talk and resolve themselves, so he simply let his sleep cradle, totally ignoring the woman next to him who turned from one side to the other in bed.

Kensington Palace
Catherine's first participation in an official commitment with the Prince of Wales was a success, everything happened without any problem or error, Catherine did very well, on social networks and information channels everyone talked about it in a very positive way. William was happy and calm with the way everything happened.
“I said you would do well, love. It was perfect, you shone too much... By the way, you look so beautiful in this dress.” said William opening her coat, as soon as they entered his room.
“Did you think it was perfect?” asked Catherine.
“Yes, but now let's not talk about it... Let's do something else…" he replied, kissing her neck, while removing her coat. Catherine walked away from him.
“No, William. I said yesterday that we were only going to have sex after getting us right.” said Catherine crossing her arms.
“Ah, Kate. What is it? All you do now is reject me.” said William angrily.
“To reject you? William, in order to do something I need to want it too.”
“So say you don't want to! It will be much more sincere than saying that we need to get it right! Something I've been trying for days! You're the first to run away from the subject, Kate.” William shouted.
“Are you going to blame me? William, you are thinking that you are my owner wanting to prohibit who I talk to or stop talking to!” said Catherine angrily.
“You want to talk to a guy who only hurt you! Can't you see that? In exchange for what? I'm just trying to protect you!” replied William, he walked back and forth inside the room.
“If you say you're trying to protect me, you should at least listen to what I have to say, if you offer to go with me, I don't know... But no, you only impose rules and you want me to obey, I feel attached to you.” said Catherine, making William stop looking at her.
“Listen to what you're saying, Kate. That doesn't make sense... Attached to me? What do I arrest you in? The first and only thing I asked you was not to talk to that worm... There are many more things you do that annoy me, but I don't say anything.” William confessed.
“What? What things annoy you?” replied Catherine.
“Matt, for example…" said William with disdain.
“What does he have to do with it?” Catherine asked fearfully. William turned red with anger.
“Look at you... You like this guy. Even my hand you let go when he gets close.” said William embittered.
“Don't be an idiot!” exclaimed Catherine.
“I'm accepting all this like an idiot. My girl, my girlfriend flirting with someone else in front of me, but I'm really an idiot for accepting this.”
“It's good to know that you don't trust me.” Catherine said bitterly.
“I'm not blind Catherine. You two flirt all the time, I trust you, but I don't trust that asshole!”
“Matt would never do something like that, he's not like that, don't call him an asshole.” Catherine replied. William laughed with disdain.
“This is not getting anywhere. You say you want to solve it, but we only stay in this here... The same discussion as always.”
“I'm tired.” Catherine confessed.
“What do you mean you got tired?” asked William, stopping in front of her.
“Everything, William. I'm going to my house.” she said without looking him in the eye.
“No... We need to solve this.” said William desperately.
“I want to think William, I can't do that with you arresting me.” Catherine said angrily. William was so shocked that he even lost his voice.
In addition to the shock and sorrow, William was so irritated by Catherine's coldness that he didn't say anything when he saw her pick up her bag and leave the room without even looking back. At least in this, they both agreed, this discussion would not take them anywhere, it would only serve to hurt each other.
Catherine left William's apartment in great strides, got into his car and started and as soon as she passed through the gates of the Palace, she connected the phone device to the car and dialed a phone number that in two rings answered.
“Kate? Hi.” said a voice on the other side of the line.
“Hi, Matt. Can you come to my house?” Catherine replied trying to sound happy.
“Now?” asked Matt, confused.
“Yes.”
“I'll be there in less than 30 minutes.”
“Okay.” said Catherine, ending the call and drying her tears. Catherine drove to her house, trying to understand why the hell she called Matt to go to her house and deep down all she wanted most was to lie on her bed and cry until she emptied all the bad feeling that was in her heart.

Chapter 1
“A year and a few months later, Catherine can say about the question: How good it is to be in love, isn't it?”
Chelsea, London
London can get quite cold in winter, but nothing that a good cup of tea and wool socks does not soften the feeling, while the flames in the fireplace crackled, the warm and quiet air spread through Catherine's cozy apartment, who was sitting in front of the huge window facing Old Church St Street, she scribbled a sketchbook, she was finishing a paradisiacal landscape. Laying the pencil on the table, she admires her work while taking a sip of her hot tea.
“Love?” his voice sounded low and calm, just like that afternoon. Love. It had been some time since she had made a commitment, with the one who had always been her Love, everything seemed fine and Catherine still felt butterflies in her stomach every time she heard him call her that way. It was so good, so right.
“Yes?” said Catherine, smiling with the feeling of hearing William's voice.
“Have you finished your drawing?” he asked.
“I just finished... Look!” she got up from the chair, heading towards the couch, where William was lying. William wore gray sweatpants and a dark blue sweater, his eyes shone, his expression was sweet and gentle. He had just woken up from a nap.
“It's beautiful, simply beautiful!” he said, kindly. Catherine smiled, and he completed it. “It's just not more beautiful than you.”
“Don't you get tired?” she asked, laughing.
“Of what?” William questioned, at the same time that his right hand skirted the thin waist of the woman standing in front of him.
“To keep praising me.” Catherine felt a tight waist.
“Never... Come here, lie here with me.” he gently pulled Catherine's body and in a quick movement nestled her in his arms, Catherine quickly threw the sketchbook on the floor, producing a muffled sound through the fluffy carpet. His arms went up around William's head.
“I don't want you to leave...” said Catherine, her hands caressing between William's chin and ears.
“Don't think about it now, let's enjoy the time we have together, it's still early, beautiful...” William kisses the top of Catherine's head. “Do you want to watch a series?”
“Okay...” Catherine raises her head to look into William's eyes. ― Love, if I tell you something, do you promise not to be angry?” he looked at her intrigued.
“What is it?
“Promise or not?” she asked again. He nodded, swallowing it dry.
“I finished watching the new episodes of Game Of Thrones without you.” she spoke softly. William smiled relieved.
“Ah, Kate! Thank God! I was scared to death that you would be mad at me for watching without you.”
“WHAT? DID YOU WATCH IT WITHOUT ME?!” she hit his chest, making him laugh.
“But love, you also watched, we're even.” William held Catherine's body immobilizing her, so that she could no longer hit her chest. The laughter of both mixing and filling the whole room.
“Okay, now what? Shall we watch it together? Maybe my attention will turn to something else...” said Catherine, looking at him suggestively. William immediately understood the message and released it for her to take control, while he pulled the red blanket to cover Catherine's body.
“Ahhh, how I love watching series with you.” William spoke smiling, while Catherine was already nesting in his chest again.
A year and a few months ago, William had given Catherine a ring, in an attempt to show everything he felt, not that it was necessary, because everyone around William knew that he was completely in love with Catherine, just as she was with him. In addition to the ring, William always tried to make clear all the intentions he had with her. William wanted to build a life with Catherine and the relationship of the two gradually matured day after day.
Catherine gave up her teaching position at Richmond The American International University, by her own choice. When her relationship with William came to the public, it was at the end of the school year and it was already chaos, she was afraid of not being able to exercise her role as she should because it was in a place with a lot of people and she took the art of teaching very seriously, so she decided to leave the classes aside and focus only on her work at the National Gallery. Fortunately her boss was a kind gentleman named Newton, who always recognized Catherine's professionalism and qualities and offered her a promotion, now Catherine worked only internally with something that really Liked it, having its own office, away from prying eyes. Catherine is very grateful to have a good boss and great co-workers, because everyone is always very discreet and respects the privacy of the Prince of Wales when they meet him in the parking lot or through the corridors of the National Gallery, whenever he picks up Catherine at the end of the day or at lunchtime.
Everything in the National Gallery follows as in the past, John left as mysteriously as he entered, no one else talks about him, it's as if for other people he had never existed, but it's not like that for Catherine, even after everything that passed into his hands, it's hard to forget, but not even she talks about John, with anyone.
After everything you've been through with John, having a healthy relationship with someone like William is something new. William with Catherine is just a man... Beautiful, attentive, funny and very passionate, but William is a public person. A prince, an heir, a future King and it is not easy to date someone from royalty and no matter how much William makes no effort to protect Catherine, every now and then things get out of hand.
The media does everything to get information about Catherine and her relationship with William, but so far they have been cautious, their relationship although public, still remains very private, and they hope it will remain so.
“I hate Sunday nights.” said Catherine, discouraged. “Do you really have to go?” she pouted for him.
“Don't look at me like that, if not, I won't be able to get out that door.” he framed her face with both hands. “I really need it. Very early tomorrow, I have a meeting with my father. You know how he is, he likes to schedule things early in the morning and then I have another meeting with Rob, it will be very busy if I have to get out of here and then stop by KP.”
“I know, I know... I hope this week passes quickly.” said Catherine, trying to sound confident.
“Me too, love.” he kissed the tip of her nose. “Now I need to go... Not before I give you a kiss, of course... How could I go without kissing you?” he said smiling, his gaze interspersing between her eyes and her mouth. Catherine was smiling at him, noticing his intense look in her mouth, without thinking twice, she moistens her lips with the tip of her tongue, already waiting for him to approach.
William starts a sweet and calm kiss, making Catherine sigh on his lips, he releases his face to wrap his waist, Catherine's hands make a home on the back of his neck.
“I love you.” Catherine whispers, between the kiss.
“I love you more.” he smiles, putting several kisses in his mouth. With his left hand he gently squeezes her waist and with his other hand, he takes Catherine's right hand and takes her to his lips, depositing a kiss where his rose gold ring shone.
William slowly moves away from the brunette, taking the helmet from the table, opens the door and with a smile leaves his girlfriend's apartment closing the door behind him, leaving Catherine with butterflies in her stomach and a smile stamped on her face on a cold Sunday night.
Another week started in London, everything was fine... What else could happen?Chapter 2
“Did things get out of hand? The answer is no... Not yet.”
The National Gallery
One of the advantages of the promotion in her work was her new office, Catherine received the right to have her own room and decorate the environment the way she wanted, she asked Mr. Newton to use the old room she used to catalog the works of the Museum. For some reason, Catherine loved that room, maybe it was because of the large window that makes the room well lit or the light wooden floor that makes everything look comfortable or maybe it's the good old cream sofa that was the scene of many conversations between Catherine and August and of course... Her first official meeting with William was sitting on this couch where she ate her favorite dish in the company of William, where she felt very good next to him, it was also where they talked about various subjects from the most banal to the most serious. The first kiss did not happen there in that room, no matter how much they both wanted it very much, but of course he was the scene of countless kisses from the couple. The whole room witnessed several moments of Catherine, as many good moments as bad moments, since she started working in the National Gallery. Now the room that was seen by many as ''abandoned'', has a sign on its door with the name of Catherine Middleton, written in bold letters.
The fine drizzle made the air outside even colder, but Catherine was not feeling any of that, her pink cheeks smiled gently at Matt, while they drank a cup of tea. Matt was the employee who took John's place. As soon as he entered to work at the National Gallery, he made friends with all the other employees, especially Catherine and August, although he is younger than them, the connection between the three was immediate.
“Kate, your mouth is dirty” he gently wiped the corner of her mouth with the napkin. “right here...”
“Thank you, Matt. ― Catherine smiled disconcerted at the boy's proximity. ― Well, uh... Will we continue to talk about the new exhibition this winter?” completed Catherine, and felt August's confused look on her. At the time, she gave him another look of censorship. Matt didn't notice anything.
The three started a long conversation about the exhibition, Catherine occasionally made some notes. They were so inert at work that that moment was easily forgotten, they only stopped when the sound of Catherine's cell phone alarm went off, indicating that it was lunchtime.
August was the first to practically run out of the room, claiming ''intense starve'', but everyone knew that he did it every time he had the opportunity to have lunch with his husband. Matt left slower, wishing Catherine a good lunch and closed the door behind him. Maybe it was the cold, but that day Catherine did not feel hungry, with slow steps she went to the cafeteria while dialed William's number, by the time he should have finished the two meetings.
The call went straight to the mailbox. Well, maybe William hadn't finished yet.
Catherine decided to have a meal at the Museum's cafeteria, after removing her plate, she located the black-haired man.
“Can I sit with you? ― she said pointing to the vacant seat next to Matt.
“Of course you can!” Matt exclaimed, smiling. “I thought you were going to have lunch with William, if I had known I would have waited for you.”
“We are full of work here and William is also busy, he would be very busy.” she replied, starting to eat.
For a while, they were both silent just next to each other. Without any strange weather.
“After you finish lunch, shall we go to that new candy store around the corner?” Matt asked, making Catherine look in his direction. Matt can witness his face light up and something inside him woke up. Matt noticed that he loved to make Catherine smile.
“But of course yes! I've been wanting to go there for days.” she put the cutlery on the plate, moving the tray away a little, got up. “I've already finished, shall we?” Matt got up promptly and involuntarily took his and Catherine's tray, she just whispered a thank you.
Leaving the trays on the counter, they went walking and talking excitedly to the candy store, the fine drizzle kept falling over the city, the icy wind hitting their face, they left distracted that they didn't even remember to take an umbrella, Matt put on the hood of the sweater and Catherine wrapped herself in the scarf, as they entered the store they were taken by the hot and sweet air, a mixture of cocoa and hazelnut penetrated their nostrils, it was so wonderful and cozy that Catherine didn't even notice her phone ringing non-stop. Matt and the sweets were the only things that held her attention at that moment.
Buckingham Palace
A typical cold winter morning, the fine drizzle making everything even colder, he held a black umbrella, his well-illustrated black shoes being sprinkled with light drops, produced a trail on the sidewalk of Buckingham Palace. William took 10 minutes by car to get there, leaving the car in the parking lot, went alone to the office of his father, King Charles III. When his father scheduled this meeting, he did not say what the subject would be, William even questioned Rob, Natalie and even his father's secretary, but no one knew the reason, leaving William intrigued to know what all that was about.
Entering the Palace, soon an employee took his umbrella and William greeted everyone as he walked to the room where his father was already.
“Good morning, father.” greeted William, upon hearing his voice Charles got up from the chair and went to meet his son to give him a hug.
“Good morning, son.” said Charles, after placing a kiss on William's cheek. “Sit here.” he completed pointing to the couch. “Would you like some tea?”
“ No, dad... Thank you... How are you? What about Camilla?” he asked as he sat down.
“We're fine, we're fine... Camilla left early for an appointment in a hospital.” the king said kindly.
“Oh, that's great. So... Did you want to see me?” asked William.
“Yes, of course... I always want to see my children... Are you sure you don't want some tea? ― said Charles. William looked at him confused. Your father was always so direct and today he was acting in a strange way.
“Dad? Did something happen?” released William. Charles looked at him scared and denied it.
“No, no, no... It's no big deal... it's, uh... William... how are things with Catherine?” Charles wore a lower tone of voice than normal.
“They're great, dad...” William was still very confused, I didn't understand anything about that conversation. ― What is all this? ― Charles looked closely at William, as if he had tried to read his mind.
“Your brother... Your brother came to me, telling a story about a supposed photo in a bar, a brunette in Kenya, something about dancing... I was confused.” Charles spoke quietly and William turned pale. “William?”
“It's been over a year. Yeah, no, no, no... Is that in the media? Why didn't Harry talk to me?” William put his hands on his head, trying to think clearly.
“So it's true?” Charles questioned him.
“No, I mean... Yes, but that's not what you're thinking.” William got up to get a glass of water.
“Do you want to tell me?”
“Of course, I have nothing to hide.” said William, with some disdain.
“When I went to Jecca's house to visit Greater Kruger National Park, Kate and I were taking a break, it was a complicated period that we went through... Anyway, I went with Jecca to Jonah's bar and there I danced with this girl... That's all, a dance. Nothing much happened and I never had contact with her again.
“Well, does Catherine know?”
“Of what?”
“The existence of this girl.”
“I never thought it was relevant to tell, there was no big deal... How could I imagine that there would be a despicable worm taking pictures of me in an establishment that in theory should be better attended?” said William angrily. “I don't understand... Why the hell, did this come to light now?” William took the glass of water in one sip.
“I don't know the details, I just know what your brother told me... Jecca told him that she's circulating there, and they thought it best to warn you before it goes viral all over the world.
“I'm sure this won't affect my relationship with Catherine at all. She'll understand, she's mature.” said William looking away from his father.
“William.” called Charles, making William look into his eyes. “Catherine is an intelligent woman, she will understand.”
For some reason, William hated hearing this from his father.
“Do you believe me?” he asked.
“William, I said that Catherine is an intelligent and understanding woman, because she knows that you would not make the same mistake as your parents.” Charles sustained William's gaze, who sighed tired. William chose not to answer, he just nodded sitting down again.
It wasn't even past ten in the morning and William and only thought about his warm bed, his body was tired as if he had run all day, but the hours passed slowly. The meeting with his father was something he never imagined: a nightmare. And now he needed to find a way to solve this situation.
William hurried out of Buckingham Palace, towards Kensington Palace, where he would have the meeting with Rob and the rest of his team... The day was just beginning.
On the way back, the prince tried to soften the bad mood by listening to music, he knew that Catherine would be busy at work, so he didn't even send messages... Thinking about her at that moment caused her a certain fear. Things couldn't go wrong... Not now, for God's sake. After everything she went through, the last thing he wanted was to be another person hurting Catherine's feelings. No. That was nothing. A simple photo that means nothing, can't ruin a relationship. While pressing the steering wheel tightly, he decided that he would tell everything to Catherine and was confident that she would understand the situation.
William parked at Kensington Palace, the bad mood still predominated, but he would never dare to take it out on his team, went through the kitchen in search of an apple and went straight to the second meeting of the day.
The whole team was already prepared to wait for the Prince of Wales, Natalie was one of the most organized people William knew, he simply loved the way she organized her life, so as the topics of the meeting passed, William's bad mood dissipated. When the issues discussed end, William had to open the game and tell about the reason for the meeting with his father and his team would help him in whatever was necessary to clarify this misunderstanding. William noticed Natalie's look at Rob, and knew that she had been annoyed that he didn't go to the bar with him that day, not that it would make any difference.
As soon as the meeting is over, everyone is leaving the room. Natalie is saving some folders, so he takes advantage of the situation.
“Nat, don't be so hard on him, it's entirely my fault.” William says sincerely.
“I know it's not his fault, nor are you, actually.” Natalie speaks looking at him and with a sad smile leaves the office, leaving William alone with his thoughts.
It was lunchtime and William even thought about going to the National Gallery, but he thought it was better to have lunch at home, probably Mary had already prepared everything.
Mary was one of William's favorite people and of one thing he was sure: it was practically impossible to be sad next to her.
When he went down the stairs you can already feel the wonderful smell of homemade food coming from the kitchen and when passing through the door he saw that everything was ready waiting for him, Mary wore an apron and smiled maternally at him.
“Mary from heaven, what a delicious smell. That's why I love you, you know? Come, sit down,” William pulled the chair so that she would sit next to you. “let's have lunch.”
And in the midst of jokes, jokes and banal conversations, William had lunch completely forgetting the phone in the office upstairs.
Chelsea, London
The day went by so fast, that Catherine was only feeling tired when she closed the door of her apartment, threw her bag on the couch and was taking off her coat when the phone rang.
The day was so busy that they barely exchanged messages, but seeing the picture of William shining on his cell phone screen was a relief. She ran to answer and threw herself on the couch, looking at a clearly bathed William lying on her bed, smiling at her.
“Hi, my love.” Catherine was the first to speak.
“Hi, my beautiful.” his smile lit up even more. “How are you? Wow... your cheeks are so pink, are you just from work?”
“Yes, I just entered the house...” she sighed relieved. “I'm fine, and you? How was the meeting with your father? I tried to call you at lunchtime and then I saw that you got back to me... But as I told you in the message, with the new exhibition, we are very busy organizing everything... It was very busy today, I only stopped at lunchtime.”
“I thought I was running, my love. I hope things get organized...” William looked different. Insecure. Catherine noticed this and tried to cheer him up, got up from the couch and went towards the room.
“Is everything okay, William?” she looked at the cell phone screen, intrigued.
“Yes, it is, better now... Looking at you.” William was being sincere and Catherine smiled kindly at him.
“Don't you want to tell me how the conversation with your father went?” she said calmly.
“Love...” said William, swallowing it dry. “I didn't want to tell you that, so... By phone, but I want you to know from me.” Catherine was taken by surprise and stopped walking, held her cell phone with both hands and looked at William confused.
“You're scaring me, what happened?”
“So,” he coughed, to create courage. “remember that time I got everything wrong and advanced my trip to Kenya?” Catherine nodded. “I was very sad because I thought I had lost you and I went with Jecca to the bar there... From a friend, Jonah... I've already told you about Jonah, haven't I? And there, um... I ended up dancing with a girl.” Catherine's shocked look was clear, but she didn't interrupt, she just looked at him waiting for him to finish talking. “And love, I swear to God that we just talked, she advised me about you and it was just a dance, a little dance of nothing, which meant nothing.” William finished speaking and kept looking at Catherine's face, waiting for an answer.
“If it didn't mean anything, why are you telling me that today?” Catherine was shocked and confused.
“It seems that someone, um... took a picture and is now circulating there, Jecca told Harry and he told my father, so he scheduled a meeting with me. It hasn't gone viral yet, but it can, uh... become news here... You know how the press is... They're going to make my life hell.
“Is that why you're so nervous?” she asked, making William look perplexed.
“I'm nervous for you... I don't want to hurt you, I didn't tell you before because I didn't think it was relevant, it didn't mean anything. Nothing happened.”
“All right, William. I believe in you.” said Catherine and William sighed relieved.
“My team is already seeing what can be done. I don't want them to tell lies about you in the media and Kate, I'm sorry... I'm really sorry. All I wanted was to protect you.
“William, we're going to go through this together, aren't we?”
“Yes, my love. Absolutely.” William felt as if they had taken a huge weight off his back. “Kate, talking about good things... What are you going to do now?” he settled down, lying on his side on the bed.
“I'm going to take a shower.” she said laughing.
“What a delicious thing, so you can take off your clothes now.” he said laughing, making Catherine laugh.
“I'll call you in 15 minutes, okay?” she said smiling.
“Oh no, take off your clothes first...” protested William.
“You don't waste time, do you?” she said, watching William deny it with his head, while biting his lips looking glazed at the cell phone screen.
Later that night, after a long FaceTime conversation with William, Catherine was talking to herself.
“Is everything okay? Isn't it?” he whispered softly. And he added mentally: ''Maybe it's the cold, I don't know. At least I have candy.'' and he took out of his bag, a bag full of chocolates that he bought at the new candy store together with Matt.
While the TV was on in any movie, Catherine ate a chocolate and the rain fell torrentially outside.
Chapter 3
“Friends, news, distractions and tranquility.”
Catherine's desire came true, because fulfilling the demands of her work with August and Matt, the week passed so fast and her days seemed to have shortened, fortunately the exhibitions were all perfectly prepared and in the following weeks everything would return to the normality of a quiet day at work for Catherine.
Since Matt started working at the National Gallery, he has always been very friendly with Catherine, but the proximity was much greater with August and also with Elisa, Mr. Newton's secretary. Elisa was a short girl with long, very straight blonde hair and blue eyes, she was a sweet and very quiet girl, she rarely talked to the other employees of the Museum, except with Matt.
But during that week, Catherine began to talk even more with Matt, for some reason the level of intimacy between the two increased and they became even more comfortable in each other's presence, she began to trust him much more. Catherine thought she would feel strange for developing this friendly relationship with him, but on the contrary, she felt very good next to Matt, who is a great professional, making it very easy to work with him. Catherine felt that Matt was always available to her, and due to the last organizations of the exhibition he practically moved to her room and they had lunch together every day in the cafeteria and not even the cold or drizzle prevented them from walking the streets around the National Gallery, August accompanied them only at work, because during the break he left stealthily to meet her husband Arthur.
William had a busy week, but very different from Catherine, while she was surrounded by papers and working inside a comfortable room, away from prying eyes, only with his co-workers, William was surrounded by real photographers and correspondents, the only part he really liked was being close to the people. William loved meeting new people, listening to their story and somehow connecting with the "real world". William's best quality was knowing how to recognize that he was a privileged person, so he did everything to use this privilege and help the people who needed it most.
The Prince of Wales is the patron of Centrepoint, which is the UK's leading charity for young homeless people. On one of the days of this busy week, William spent the afternoon talking about fatherhood with his young and new father Joe, this made him think of Catherine and the life he planned to build with her. He also spent time observing some filming techniques from Becky, who was learning new video editing skills in the hope of finding a career in the media industry.
So were William's favorite commitments, to be close to people, as he once said to Catherine, he liked to be useful. And before leaving that institution, he pledged again that he would always help in whatever was necessary to draw attention to these solvable issues not only that day, but in the coming months and years. William believed that using his image and visibility would help, drawing attention to the action in helping those who are struggling.
William and Catherine did not see each other in person on any of those days, they only exchanged a few messages during the day and at night they always talked on FaceTime, where they always told what they had done during the day at work and also about any banal subject. William never got tired of flirting with her and making her smile and Catherine loved this affection coming from him.
It was finally Friday and August invited them to go to his house, both accepted the invitation, so now William was sitting on Catherine's bed with his back resting on the head of the bed and his legs stretched under the quilt, where more than seven pairs of clothes were scattered. Catherine went in and out of the closet, had already changed her clothes countless times and finally seemed to have found the one she liked the most. William had dressed up in his own apartment and went to Catherine's to pick him up about 45 minutes ago, but he did not dare to rush her, after all they had scheduled it at eight in the evening.
“What did you think?” said Catherine, opening her arms to show the chosen outfit. Catherine wore black tights, a dark green dress with a coat of the same tone on top, wore a pair of black boots. The fabric of the dress looked so soft and the pieces fit perfectly on her body.
“You look wonderful!” said William, getting up from the bed to surround her waist. “How lucky I am.”
“Thank you, Wills. ― said Catherine, staying on her toes, because even in heels she was shorter than him, she put a long kiss on her lips. “Shall we go?”
“Let's go!” William checked if his wallet and car key were in his pocket and then took Catherine's hand and went towards the car.
August's apartment was nearby, about 10 minutes later William parked in front of Catherine's friend's residence. The icy air was almost not even noticed, because as soon as they got out of the car, William took Catherine's hand and put it inside his own coat, she smiled at him as they walked to August's door. Earlier that day, August was very excited about this dinner, Catherine spent the whole afternoon trying to get information from him, but it was in vain.
August and Arthur welcomed them with great affection at their home, Arthur loved to cook and prepared a delicious dinner for them, William felt very comfortable with Catherine's friends. August was a very fun person, who spoke non-stop, Arthur was more reserved and always laughed at everything August said, they had been together for 8 years, but those who see from the outside think they are newly married. The house was so welcoming, the atmosphere exuded love and complicity, it was great to be in their company. After dinner, Arthur invited them to sit in the living room, while drinking wine, August was a little agitated than usual.
“For God's sake, August... Are you trying to kill me with anxiety?” said Catherine laughing. She was holding a glass of wine and William was sitting next to her, also enjoying the taste of a delicious Italian wine. Arthur laughed and looked at his husband.
“I still can't believe you could hold the news even for her. I have to confess, I'm so proud, I thought you wouldn't be able to keep it a secret.” Arthur laughed and took a sip of wine.
“Well, it was very very very very difficult, there were moments that I almost couldn't stand, I thought I was going to die...” said August, laughing and making everyone laugh. He put the cup on the coffee table. “Shall we tell you, love?”Arthur got up and went towards August, he was sitting in the armchair to the left of the sofa where William and Catherine were sitting, the man touched the armchair while caressing his husband's back. Catherine shook William's hand and they both looked closely at them.
“Kate... William... finally! We're going to be parents! We found our son, we found our boy.” exclaimed August, the joy was palpable.
“OH MY GOD!” Catherine screamed, pushing the cup to the coffee table and lifting in a jump. “What wonderful news, Augus!” two steps were enough for her to get to her friends, Catherine hugged August who had also gotten up with her scream. “I'm so happy for you.” she joined Arthur in the hug. William remained seated, but the smile was stamped on his face.
Catherine separated from their embrace with watery eyes.
William got up and congratulated Arthur with a warm hug, then hugged August as well.
“And then... Can you tell us how this happened?” William asked, while pulling Catherine to sit on his lap.
“So, it's been a while since we entered the documentation, Kate knows that we always wanted this...” he smiled at her who nodded. “and you know it's something very complicated, I honestly was almost discouraged, but Augus never let me lose hope. And then, three months ago, the updates started. First we got a call and then we went there to meet him.”Arthur and August's face lit up even more. “And it was perfect, he's the most beautiful thing I've ever seen in my life.”
“Our boy's name is Luke, and he is 1 year and 9 months old. He's wonderful, do you want to see a picture of him?”completed August.
“Of course!” said William and Catherine. August unlocked the cell phone, looking in the photo gallery, handed the cell phone into the hands of Catherine, who can't help but smile when looking at the photo. A boy with brown hair and big and bright eyes of the color of jabuticaba, a round nose and a shy smile, he was sitting under a carpet and wore a blue jacket. “Oh my God, he is so beautiful!” said Catherine, delighted.
“He's charming, look at that naughty face. Congratulations, guys. Your son is beautiful.” said William, smiling, as he caressed Catherine's arm. When they looked at the baby's photo, something inside them warmed up even more.
“This needs to be celebrated! Let's toast!” suggested Catherine. Everyone agreed.
When they went to toast, Arthur also said that he had been promoted in his work, he said that he had not told him before because the news of the approval of the adoption was much more important than a promotion, nothing would be match for this wonderful news.
Amid laughter, wine and joy, August told more details of the whole adoption process to Catherine and when Luke would come home with them, while William started a conversation with Arthur about his work.
“Kate, there's something I need to tell you...” August said, holding his shoulder.
“What is it?” asked Catherine.
“Arthur will be transferred to the York Unit, where he will lead the branch there, we are looking for houses, we want a bigger place than our apartment. We are in contact with a broker who showed us some.”
“So you're going to leave the Gallery?” she asked and he nodded. “I'm so happy for you, that I can't even be sad about not having my best friend with me every day.”
“Ah, Kate!” he exclaimed and hugged the brunette again. “I'm so relieved to finally tell you! I've wanted to have contact for a long time, but I was afraid things would go wrong and you would be one more person to be sad with us, and you know... I hate to see you sad.”
“I also hate to see you sad, I've noticed that you were more distant, always leaving in the breaks, and I'm so relieved to know that everything worked out and soon Luke will be with you and I can't wait to meet you.”
“I already talked to Mr. Newton and he gave me a letter of recommendation, next week is my last week. We want to fix everything before Luke arrives, so I'm leaving right away.”
“I'm so happy for you, but I'll miss you so much at work.”pondered Catherine.
“At least now you have Matt.” August replied. At that moment, William looked at Catherine. Arthur had gone to the room to get a piece to show William and he ended up paying attention to the conversation of the two while waiting for his friend's return.
“Oh, but it's not the same thing.” said Catherine and her cheeks blushed involuntarily. For some reason hearing Matt's name and receiving a curious look from William made her embarrassed.
“Matt? That guy who came in recently?” asked William. He knew exactly who it was, but he asked anyway.
“Yes, himself.” replied August.
“Ah.” that's what William just said. And he thanked God that Arthur returned, because he didn't like to hear the phrase "At least you have Matt." What did he mean by that? Catherine didn't talk about Matt, she rarely mentioned his name in conversations about work. William knew that he had no right to think like that, much less make a scene at his friends' house because of a phrase, even more so on a day like today when everyone is very happy.
“Look at that!” exclaimed Arthur and William turned his attention to him.
Catherine tried to disguise the embarrassment and started asking about baby things, so she and August started a long conversation about children's clothes, furniture and room decoration.
The night passed practically in the blink of an eye, it was past eleven thirty at night when they said goodbye to the couple of friends and went straight to Catherine's apartment, while talking about the news of August and Arthur.
“Kate,” said William, while taking off his shirt. “what did August mean by "at least now you have Matt"?”
“Oh, it's just that now Matt and I are getting closer, because of the exhibition, he's in front.” Catherine replied, she went into the closet to change her clothes. Leaving William alone in the room.
“You rarely talk about him and the way Augus spoke, it seems that you are more than co-workers...” said William.
“Will, will you want to talk about it?” Catherine came out of the closet wearing William's favorite sweater. “He's just my friend and we got a little closer because of work.” she approached slowly. “I don't want to talk about it,” stopping in front of him, she touched the tip of her finger on William's naked abdomen. “do you want to talk about it?” he denied, his eyes were fixed on Catherine's body and the subject Matt had been completely forgotten.
“I missed you so much this week.” said William, his hands grabbed her waist. He put a kiss on his right shoulder. “I love this sweater.” her kisses went up to her neck, who sighed as she felt his touch.
“I missed you every day and it's so cold outside, I'll need you to warm me up today.” Catherine said softly, her hands went up and down William's torso.
William held her chin with his fingertips, his face slowly approached hers and Catherine can feel his breath in her mouth. Catherine wanted to kiss him and as he approached, William retreated a little and smiled.
“Why did you do that?” she asked laughing, approaching again.
“Just to see how much you want.” he whispered in her ear, making Catherine shiver at the tone of her voice and kissed her.
Catherine returned the kiss immediately and on an impulse William squeezed her waist, she climbed on her lap, crossing her legs on his back who carried her to bed, without separating her mouth from hers. When Catherine felt her back hitting the soft quilt, she stopped the kiss to leave a slight bite on William's lips who smiled with her eyes closed because she felt her hands around her body, she slowly caressed her skin towards the south, stopping at the waistband of her pants, as she unbuttoned and opening the zipper the fabric was sliding down his thick legs, William nibbled his neck.
The prince got up quickly to finish taking off his pants and lay down again, his body glued to Catherine's.
“Five days without feeling you like this,” William pushed her legs away, hovering over her body. Your intimacies separated only by the fabric of the sweater and the box underwear. “can I warm you up like that?” Catherine looked at him in amaze, biting her lips.
“That's just how I want it, love.” Catherine trapped William between her legs, pushing his body into hers.
“Fuck, Kate...” his hands walked through her body. “how hot you are.” Catherine breathed with difficulty, feeling his hardness and her skin burned with desire.
“Your...” she whispered and he looked into her eyes. “I'm your hottie.”
Upon hearing this, something inside William exploded, he advanced against Catherine starting a voracious kiss, his agile hands pulling the fabric of the sweater, William wanted to feel her skin even more, separating the kiss just to pass the piece of clothing through her head. His blue eyes shone brightly as he contemplated her body that was covered only by the small panties that were soon taken off, as well as his underwear. William ran a finger through the intimacy of Catherine who moaned loudly. With his hand he stimulated Catherine's center and with his lips he licked and nibbled her breasts, making her shiver, moan and beg for him.
William made a trail of kisses through the brunette's body, until he reached her intimacy, when Catherine felt his tongue could not avoid the loud moan that came out of her mouth, her restless body was firmly held by William's hands, she on the other hand, clung to the quilt while feeling William's tongue giving her pleasure, the waves of orgasm invading her body.
Catherine's panting breath returned to normal and the prince affectionately massaged her thighs, while kissing her flat belly, in order to calm the spasms of her body. Catherine wasted no time and pulled him for a kiss, where she can feel her own taste mixed in his tongue.
Catherine grabbed William's back and his member slid into his hot and receptive entrance, he moaned in his mouth as he felt his penis being swallowed by her tight pussy. William started slow and firm lunges. Catherine moaned his name, seducing him, driving him crazy, making him reach the limit. William knew where Catherine's sensitive points were and encouraged her to reach the apex together, while whispering nonsense in her ear. Feeling that she was close, she increased the thrusts even more, the sound of their bodies colliding in a sensual and hot way. She exploded into an overwhelming orgasm and three lunges after William followed him pouring inside her while moaning her name. Before leaving her, William kissed her affectionately.
“I love you, my hottie.” he laughed and put another kiss on his lips. William got off her, and brought her to his chest. Catherine had her head resting on him and with her right index finger drew small circles on her bare chest.
“I love you,” she said laughing too. “you're hot too, you know? And very, very mine.”
“That I am yours, I have no doubts!” he completed and pressed against him. William and Catherine lay under the covers and talked until they fell asleep, not caring about wearing any clothes and having no idea what was to come.
sorry I have decided I cannot longer commit to doing the translations for stories. A few posts ago I posted a resource for you to do it yourself though x
To Anon who found the stories on Wattpad (with the k name). I am not posting it as someone said maybe I shouldn’t as she might not like it. But thank you x
You shouldnt share the wales gang stories. If she wanted them still up, she would have kept them up. That's someone's intellectual property
I am presuming you are the same person that has messaged me before about this issue. I reblogged her stories from somebody else's blog, they were technically still on tumblr. Yes, I have re-posted others from the internet archive and elsewhere. I have always said I will be happy to delete them if the original writer contacts me. It has not always been possible to contact the original writers.
People seem to gain joy from this blog and reading the old stories. I have poured a lot of time and effort to this for three years and it has been worth it. I was once a fan of the fiction and it is nice to see the stories being appreciated again even with likes. I can not say for sure, but I feel many of the writers would feel happy that their writing still entertains. Perhaps some would be unhappy or embarrassed but it is a balance I have weighed up and think it is worth it.
The Princess of Wales was attending the quarter finals of Rugby World Cup between England and Fiji. Several fans of her showed up to the game, including one wearing a hilarious mask with Catherine's face on it. Two men brought themselves to the stadium with posters made of cartons with French sentences, which translated to < divorce and marry me > & < Not him, Kate. Me >.
The princess was unaware of their act until the very end of the match when her secretary told her about it and showed a picture that was already viral around all of the 'royal' social media accounts.
**
Upon home return, William was waiting for her. "England is in the semi-finals, unlike Wales" said Catherine after seeing him, showing him her competitive side once more. William narrowed his eyes a little. His wife was rather confused, so she asked: "Is everything okay? It was a simple joke, you know that, right?.." she smiled but that facial expression was quickly replaced by a different one as she added: "Just like those posters you probably had seen".
"Posters" William sighed and then looked at her face, asking "What was your reaction ?" He asked, awaiting her explanation of the Intruders as he called them earlier. Catherine tried not to smile and said "I laughed and.. By the way, where are our kids?".
William rolled his eyes again after he did not get a direct response "And what? What else happened?" He asked once more.
Catherine hid a sigh and replied "And I assumed that you will behave in this way. Losing in a competition is not always an easy thing. Excuse me, Mr Wales, but I would like to see our children right now".
William sensed that his wife was teasing him now and couldn't help but smile as he stared at her way.
*
"I am so happy that England won, mummy. Hope they will win next week and then in the finals as well" George said.
They were playing a board game together with Charlotte and Louis. Orla was 'watching' them, occasionally barking, especially when Louis was the winner.
"She is rooting for me" he said and giggled
"Lupo used to do something similar with me," George said as he remembered their old dog and his playfulness. His mother caressed his shoulder. Thinking about Lupo and other dogs in her family that already passed away was not simple for her either, especially when an anniversary of Lupo's death was approaching.
Charlotte noticed her sudden sadness and asked, "Mummy, is everything okay?" Catherine, without saying anything, hugged her children and Orla.

The princess was pretending to be watching the TV in the living room late in the evening. William approached her and put his arm around her. "You've got no plans to go to sleep tonight? You should feel sleepy after your flight and all the emotions you had"
Catherine looked at him suspiciously. "Emotions? I feel like you've had more of those than me and that includes jealousy again. Am I right?".
William took a strand of her hair away from her face as he replied "You're not wrong. Well, maybe not jealousy but a bit of anger when you teased me by saying that losing in a competition is not easy" he said.
Catherine smirked "Well.. Usually you love when I am teasing you and this time you don't? This is unusual for you" she said.
"This is because you told a lie" William replied while looking into her eyes, then kissed her neck. Catherine laughed "So you think that you won. England was the winner and you are supporting Wales so you lost. This is logical."
"Both you and me know that it doesn't only mean the match itself, Mrs Wales but the posters. Those men lost, not me" William said and before Catherine could laugh, he kissed her on the neck once again, more passionately.
"Be careful" she giggled "I won't accept love bites marks. Do you know how difficult it is to cover that later?".
William only smirked as he said "The weather's getting colder so you can begin wearing turtlenecks soon, can't you?".
Catherine giggled and pushed him back. "Sorry for you, Mr Wales but you were right: I am feeling tired and sleepy right now. Your proof of winning must wait until tomorrow" she laughed and went to take a shower.
As a 'revenge' and to prevent William from joining her there, she closed the bathroom room with a key. William knocked when he realised what she did a few minutes later.
"Are you serious?" He asked and then smiled after hearing his wife's soft laugh.
*
"Aren't you sleeping?" He asked about thirty minutes later when he came to their bedroom after putting their youngest child to sleep.
"I can't" Catherine replied
"So you missed me anyway" he smiled.
Catherine shook her head and replied: "Today when I was playing with the children, all of a sudden George mentioned Lupo and you know that--.. his death anniversary is coming and it is still not easy sometimes to think about it even when Orla's with us" she sighed.
"Kate.." her husband said and pulled her closer to himself "Of course it is not possible to forget about him and the way he left us"
Catherine blinked a few times and then she could feel William's forehead kiss and then another touch of his lips - on hers.
She looked at him and William caressed her cheek as he said: "You told me to wait until tomorrow for something more so I will but it does not mean I will not try to lift your mood up a little bit if you want, Mrs Wales"
His wife nodded as she said "Yes, you are allowed to do that I think.. But that doesn't mean that you're a winner in everything. Wales lost" Catherine smirked after making a decision to tease him for the last time that evening and that way she got her 'revenge': lots of kisses on her face and a few, <almost invisible> love bites on her neck.
*
"Thank you" Catherine said sarcastically the next morning when she stood in front of a mirror, trying to cover the marks William left on her neck the night before.
"You can still wear turtlenecks, and there is nothing in our calendars until November so it will heal, right?"
"Yes, unless you plan to prove something again" Catherine scoffed a little
