The Keep's stone is true and solid, all the way through to the deeps. When she's inside, Dis can almost forget the still-strange sky above her, the whims and frenzies of the weather. There are things she has grown to love and hold dear about the surface world -- Alistair's crooked grin, Dhargus and his silly wagging tail, the respect she has been free to earn from others despite her brand, the stunning colors of the sunset -- but sometimes, when she is feeling lonely and small and unsure of herself, it is good to be surrounded by her roots. There are times that she hangs up her Warden-Commander's armor and sits on the floor in her quarters, Dhargus snoring at her side, and she puts her hands on the cool stone floor and dreams of Dust Town.
