Posted this in a Kris community first but all of tumbly deserves to fall for AAC Kris Propaganda!

So I headcanon Kris as autistic with verbal and speech delays! so obviously as a kid Kris uses AAC!!! they have laminated cards and a pencil and paper for when playing outside and such. And then a proper tablet with AAC app and text to speech for other times!

As a young teen Kris developes talking skills but they still experience verbal shut downs so the AAC tech still gets used! (they probably keep their cards in their backpack incase anything happens and have some kinda app just on their phone in a pinch)

I have never used AAC and dont experience verbal shut downs so if I got anything wrong please do lemme know <3

If yall hc Kris as mute in some way or another I definitely suggest giving them some sort of AAC instead of sign language or to go along with it!!! AAC representation is something we need more of U_U

Love ur hc of Kris with fainting spells. Can you expand on that?

Of course, I'm happy to!

I have a fainting disorder myself, and Kris's is based on my own, though the origin is different; Kris gets fainting spells as a result of their habit of, well. tearing out their soul. This has led to them getting head rushes when they stand up too fast, bruising really easily, getting cuts much easier, their body slowly giving out if they stand up too long/are too active, general joint and body aches...

It wasn't too severe at first, but it built up over time (plus the fact that I theorize/hc that we aren't Kris's original soul, so they also had a different soul within them for an extended period of time)

I think Noelle and Susie deck out all of Kris's disability aids with stickers, doodles, and the like.

Oh, and Asgore got Kris their first cane! I have some personal headcanons around Kris, Asgore, and Toriel, but I fear I'd make people angry at me LMAOOO

But yeah! Hits Kris with the disabled beam because I can :)

Is kris more worried about the cane breaking due to needing it as an aid, or due to the emotional value it holds?

I think it's both, but it definitely leans towards emotional value more than needing it as an aid.

Sure, you can replace broken objects rather easily - but that cane is from their father, with stickers made with their friends and partners, and specifically holds a lot of significance to them. It's almost a symbol of how much the people important to them help them keep standing and moving forward, and how much they care about them!

Hypothetically speaking, they could go to Malius if it DID break, but... as someone who forms very strong attachments to their items, the idea of something that important breaking is honestly incredibly distressing.

Hear me out on this idea. Since in deltarune Kris’s pencil becomes their sword it would be awesome if their cane you drew them with did so as well

I like the idea a lot, and was actually considering it before you sent this! Glad you gave me a chance to draw it :)c

I like doing weapon designs, but I wanted to keep the Balance Blade pretty simple; I think going over-the-top with something that doubles as a mobility aid would be antithetical to it lolll

But yeah, the Balance Blade is Kris's cane! It keeps the stickers on the dull side, and has a handguard :) I don't know if Kris WOULD use it as a sword much honestly, mostly due to concerns that it might break the cane if it breaks in the dark world, which. Kris does not want. They really like their cane.
