I reread some of my unfinished admech fics, and quietly cursed the asshole (me) who left them unfinished, because... well, looking back they're not half bad actually.
So... Who knows. Maybe once I get the techpriest cosplay to a more acceptable stage, I will write again?
Buck and Eddie ease into a relationship without a single word.
It's not like they plan it. They just never see a reason to put a stop to it once they notice what's going on.

It starts off small. Eddie and Buck are in the locker room changing out of their uniforms after a long shift. A small stumble and they bump into each other, smiling apologetically as they right themselves and continue.
It happens more frequently from then on. Hands reach out for balance and find the other. They move closer together whenever they're in the same room, gravitating towards each other like magnets. Hips bump, legs press against each other, and hands press reassuringly on an arm, a shoulder, or a back.
It escalates slightly after another long shift as Eddie and Buck both sink down onto a couch, exhausted, and lean against each other. They need a moment to catch their breath and Eddie's head ends up on Buck's shoulder. No one says anything. They don't move for at least five minutes.
The next step happens when they're having lunch together at the firehouse. Helping to bring food over from the kitchen to the table, Buck trips over his own feet and almost falls before Eddie is there to hold him up. Eddie's hands are on his waist and Buck leans into him, grateful and laughing at his clumsiness.
Their hands wander further from then on. When watching tv at the firehouse or at Eddie's house, hands end up on thighs. Passing each other in a corridor requires a gentle hand on the other's hip. Standing side by side for more than five seconds results in arms slung around each other and bodies pressed close.
Buck doesn't want Eddie to shave his moustache.
Not until he knows what it's like to kiss it.
-
"Are you saying what I think you're saying?"
"If you think I'm saying that I want to kiss you while you still have the moustache, then…" Buck took a deep breath and let it out in a rush and blurted, "Yes."
Eddie studied him silently for a moment, then grabbed his bag, said, "Follow me in your car," and left.
Buck hurried to gather his things.

for @buddie-month week 1: I didn't expect that
Eddie finds it difficult to talk about his feelings because it always leaves him far too vulnerable and exposed. So, when he finally decides it's time to tell Buck how he feels, he has a plan to get them both on equal footing.
-
Buck turned, slicking his wet hair back, and then yelped and covered himself comically with his hands when he saw Eddie standing there.
"Eddie!" he exclaimed, his face turning red. "I'm naked!"
"Obviously," Eddie replied.
"What have I done?" Eddie murmured, staring down at Buck with wide eyes. The two of them were on the couch, Buck pushed over and Eddie hovering above him.
"You just ruined our friendship," Buck said, staring back up at him.
"Yeah?" Eddie asked. "Like, how badly?"
"Like, it's being buried as we speak," Buck said, curling a hand around the back of Eddie's neck and beginning to guide him down. "It's dead."
"That's a shame," Eddie murmured just before their lips met for the second time that night.
"Terrible shame," Buck muttered against his mouth, grinning as they kissed.
Shoutout to @veronae-buddie who not only gave me the idea for this drabble but also helped me get it from my original 95 words to 100!! 😘
V's original idea: "I was picturing them making out and eddie pulling back and whispering "oh no what have I done, I've ruined our friendship" but in a like teasing way, and buck's grinning and is like "yep, totally destroyed it" and kisses him again"
Buck gets a text from Eddie that has him driving immediately to his best friend's house.
Hey. Can we stop dancing around each other and just kiss already?
The text was burned onto the backs of his eyelids. Every time he blinked, Buck saw the words Eddie had typed and sent to him. He couldn't help the bounce in his step as he got out of his car and headed up to Eddie's front door, his bottom lip caught anxiously between his teeth even as he grinned.
This was happening. This was actually happening!
Knocking rapidly on the front door to announce his presence, Buck then fit his spare key into the lock and turned the handle. His shoulder hit the frame in his excitement to push his way inside but he ignored it, eyes already searching the house for Eddie.
Somehow he'd been expecting Eddie to be just inside waiting for him, so Buck was disappointed when he shut the door behind him and still hadn't set eyes on the man.
"Eddie?" he called out.
Fishing his phone out of his pocket, he swiped open to his messages again and grinned down at the words. Then realised–
Oh. He'd never replied.
Grimacing, he quickly typed out I'm here and hit send.
I don't wanna be your friend (I wanna kiss your lips)

"Would you passionately kiss your best friend for one hundred dollars?" Chimney read from his phone.
"Are you kidding?" Buck exclaimed, slapping a hand down on the table. "I'd do it for free!"

In which Buck does not think before he acts.
