Meet Xivo: A fresh take on Nu Disco with timeless grooves 🪩

Every now and then, you come across an artist who isn’t trying to chase trends—they’re building a world of their own.

That’s exactly how I felt when I discovered Xivo.

Based in Mexico City, Xivo is a DJ and music producer whose sound lives somewhere between the golden era of Disco and the polished production of modern Nu Disco.

But what caught my attention wasn’t just the music.

It was the consistency.

His debut project, Disco Fancy, is built around that idea: bringing back the spirit of Disco through a contemporary lens.

We usually celebrate the person behind the decks.

The producer.

The DJ.

The artist.

But behind many independent projects, there’s often someone working quietly in the background, helping shape the bigger picture.

In Xivo’s case, that person is Charly Guzmán Puig.

As the project’s manager and creative strategist, Charly’s role goes far beyond booking shows or answering emails.

He’s focused on something much bigger:

Building an identity.

One of the first questions he challenged Xivo with was surprisingly simple:

“What makes your project different from everyone else’s?”

Not faster beats.

Not bigger drops.

Not following whatever trend happens to be popular.

Something people could instantly recognize.

That conversation became the beginning of a much bigger journey.

It encouraged Xivo to fully commit again to his path as a DJ and producer, not by copying what was already working, but by searching for a sound that genuinely felt like his own.

After months of experimenting, refining ideas and questioning every creative decision, that identity finally had a name:

Disco Fancy.

Today, every release, every Disco Sesh, every artwork and every visual follows the same philosophy:

Build a world, not just another track.

And maybe that’s what artist management should really be about.

Disco in Motion by Xivo somehow does both.
