Sometimes I get so angry at Discord for existing that I have to take a step back and remind myself he is a fictional character who is not real and has never done anything ever and in fact does not exist in our material reality.

by the way y'all, probably the best alternative for discord right now is steam chats

it has full server functionality and can hold 50+ members

it has voice chat, no screenshare (but watchparty and kosmi are good alternatives) and no face

big benefit is that steam is a private company not driven by corporate interests (hence why it's been so successful and non-controversial). however it's also extremely stable and has robust security measures
