It's so funny when I kinda praised (just kinda) IDW comic for featuring more female characters and queer characters compared to other TF continuities and this fandom immediately assumed I viewed IDW comic as some bastion of progressive and woke... This comic run is pretty much a white liberal wet dream that still maintains the status quo...

And I never once praised their storytelling and character development... Just at least acknowledge they finally gave the female characters more spotlight even though the bar was in hell... I simply just want the new continuities to at least do the bare minimum of IDW with female and queer characters, and no, Skybound Transformers so far hasn't done enough when they only featured 3 female characters and one vaguely non-binary character that dudebros still refer them as a "he"... And this is 2025 already...

There are legitimate reasons to criticize or dislike IDW and ES but I haaaate how homophobic dudebros of the TF fandom ride on the hate train for petty reasons like ES acknowledging pronouns or IDW having canonical LGBT representation. I love IDW and ES and I can recognize when its shitty at times, but if I openly speak about it, there's gonna be some bitch going ,,,yeah its so ass glad everyone hates idw now/es was cancelled. we dont need woke shit infecting our franchise''' like no this isnt a space for you to parade your shitstain of an existence everywhere go back to the garbage you crawled out of 🙄

I hate it when a ship becomes popular because of an AU. I'm not gonna name names cause it's not the fault of the AU creators but some people are so quick to confuse fanon and canon... Like no First Aid isn't a freak as in blood and guts he's barely presented as a freak in one continuity. It's IDW, and he's freakishly obsessed with random shit, not freakishly obsessed with violence. Istg whenever an AU that changes a lot of a character's personality gets popular I brace for the misinformation that's gonna get spread for the next 3 years

I'm sick of this fandom's obsession with using stupid euphenusms like pede, glossa, servo, derma, etc. instead of just fucking calling a foot a foot. You have to learn a whole fucking different language when you get in this fandom, and for no reason.

But the euphenism i hate the most is "oFflInE(d)" instead of "kill/die/dead/murder". Canon only ever used it because cartoons aren't allowed to say "kill/die/dead/murder", but most of the fandom just mindlessly clings to and parrots it without stopping to think for a second how stupid and unsuitable it sounds.

It completely ruins emotional impact and seriousness. The sentence is about a person dying, not about a computer losing the fucking WIFI connection!!

Cyberworld hasn't even come out and TF fans already weaponize that show to shit on ES.

This is similar to how homophobic Skybound stans used the popularity of their comic to justify "no homo" in Transformers story.

Why does this fandom gatekeep and fiercely protect Jazz in particular so hard? No matter what you're making Jazz do there's a legion of fans who'll go around and say it's racist, thereby discouraging people from using him, when he's a really awesome character and should be in more fics/continuities. I've sometimes found myself having similar worries about putting Jazz in stuff, worrying about whether or not people are gonna call the portrayal racist (my main thing is that I write a lot of smut, so I sometimes find myself worrying that the pearl-clutchers are gonna think I'm "fetishizing" black men by putting Jazz in there) and that just makes me think... isn't it more racist to discourage people to put Jazz in stuff at all? By fiercely guarding him like this you're going to get a lot of people to decide it's just not worth risking being called racist and just not put him in their fic, fan continuity, etc.

Jazz is awesome and we should encourage people to have fun with him, not censor themselves out of fear of the "everything with Jazz in it is racist" crowd.

Another weird thing I noticed: Why don't people do this to Blaster too? He also has heavy ties to American black culture, but you don't see people calling everything with Blaster in it racist or bigoted or whatever. He's not nearly as fiercely protected as Jazz and I can only assume it's because Blaster didn't appear in as many other Transformers continuities as Jazz has.
