Tell me more about Discretion Advised, pretty please. 😘
(Here's an Outtake I may or may never use for DA.)
The table was crowded but comfortable. Tommy had brought out the big folding leaf for the dining table, and Evan had helped him smooth the cloth over it while Sal grilled steaks out back. Now the food was mostly gone, and Tommy was reshuffling a well-worn deck, his sleeves pushed up and dimples deep from whatever joke Andy had told two minutes earlier.
“Dealer’s choice,” Sal said, tipping back his whiskey as he leaned into his chair. One arm slung around Evan’s shoulder, like it was nothing. Like it didn’t set Evan’s whole spine thrumming with heat and nerves. “But if we play bullshit again, I’m taking bribes.”
“We should do Jackbox after this,” Bree suggested. “Linda’s bringing the tablet.”
Evan tilted his head, curious. “Linda?”
“Andy's sister,” Tommy supplied, nodding at the stocky guy across the table with a shaved head and a mouth. “Works city legal.”
Andy snorted and reached for the chips. “Yeah, and she’s pissed off. Says the department’s gonna settle if they’re smart. That if the kid wins and fuck, she thinks he is that Station 23’s getting shut down for good.”
Evan’s hand twitched on his drink, and he lifted it slowly, trying not to rush the sip. Something carbonated and citrusy clung to the back of his throat. His smile stayed in place.
Tommy shuffled the deck again. “Howie said the firefighter dropped the suit a few weeks ago. That it’s between him and Nash now. Howie thinks the kid’ll be back in the field by the end of the quarter.”
Evan’s ears were ringing. Nash.
Andy scoffed. “Can’t believe they’re letting him back in. Linda said the kid aired all his station’s dirty laundry. You don’t come back from that.”
Bree frowned. “He got bombed on a fucking call, Andy. Maybe airing some shit was necessary.”
“Still,” Andy said. “Suing the city? Filing a complaint against the department? That kind of thing doesn’t just disappear. If my probie pulled that…”
“He’s not your probie,” Sal cut in.
Evan breathed out slowly through his nose.
Tommy laid the cards down, face flat, but his foot nudged Evan’s gently under the table. You okay? Evan blinked once and remembered the part he was playing and nodded, making sure to duck his head and give him a sheepish smile.
Andy leaned back. “All I’m saying is, if he couldn’t hack it, he shouldn’t have been out there in the first place. You don’t cry lawsuit just because shit gets hard. We’ve all had close calls.”
Evan didn’t mean to speak. But he did. “What if it wasn’t a close call?”
Andy squinted at him. “What?”
Evan looked down at his cards, not even seeing the hand. “You said it was just a close call. You all act like he’s suing because he wimped out. C’mon, you’re all firefighters, you’ve seen the footage. Watched as civilians lifted that engine off him. You heard his screams.”
Sal’s hand tightened slightly on the back of Evan’s chair.
“But maybe he sued because he spent months rehabbing, survived a blood clot caused by a screw in his leg, got back up, survived a tsunami, recertified, broke two records, and then his Captain still wouldn’t reinstate him, even though he was medically cleared to go back. So, his disability he had been living off for seven months was cut off and his credit was maxed. Then while suing the city, not for the money but to get his job back… he realized that something was still wrong with his leg and despite the city offering him 4.2 million dollars, he closed the case.”
Andy frowned. “You a firefighter?”
Evan glanced up. And this time, he didn’t smile. “Not anymore.”
For the girliez boychies and theyzies that are dealing with someone being purposefully challenging or insistently excalatingly argumentative, perhaps even unwittingly erratic (changes subjects often) aka compulsive pivit
Stop projecting things on what I said;
that weren't voiced.
Nor implied.
.
Don't impose your past into our uncurroupted present.
.
Would you like to take a second to divorce the reality of the situation from the nightmare our mentalities could blow it into?
.
Let's take a breath and circle back when we can respectfully see and gracefully handle one another as human beings calmly.
.
Would you like to have a separate conversation about what you just presented? Or can we prioritize our initial issue first?
Guinevere pops the lid off a safety bottle (push down & turn) to get a tiny treat. She's gotten quite good at this.
Note: These days, she only touches bottles I have given her. See the X on the lid? I think they can smell the Sharpie. Gwyn is opening this one because I let her sniff the treat inside, before I put the lid on and handed it to her. This is definitely a "use your discretion" puzzle. You don't want a dog opening your pill bottles to eat your pills.
How would the poly twins react if they found out their s/o has been kidnapped (for revenge persumeably)
I’m putting this under a read more because of a certain bullet point…Don’t say I didn’t warn you.
~Mod Inquisitor
The twins. S/o is kidnapped:
Whoever kidnapped s/o is going to die for sure
Probably be burned alive if Takeyasu has his way
(Sorry) If a certain despicable thing… happens to s/o the kidnappers will face a fate worse than death & I have no pity for them the should suffer
Ego’s will be boosted when they save s/o
Bonus if s/o is a badass:
When s/o saves themselves some egos will be dampened
Cause obviously they were hoping to be able to swoop in and save them
Takeyasu will pout over it, but will get over it when he gets to burn the place down while Nagayuki & s/o watch from far away (smoke is evil damnit, it smells horrible >:P)
tbh anything by twenty one pilots is v bpd relatable for me ,, but especially ode to sleep bc late night breakdowns and we don’t believe what’s on tv bc it seems to be like an fp/idealizing vibe (but in general tyler has v bpd relatable lyrics)
also crybaby by melanie martinez (but she’s super problematic as an artist so ,,,)
AND teen idle by marina and the diamonds is very relatable to me personally because i really feel the whole i-want-my-childhood-back thing ,, which is p common with bpd so i thought i might throw this in the mix !! ~ava
