For Toast & Jam: Beach House
"For Toast & Jam" is a portion of DISculture dedicated to the best songs that you should be listening to this week. Music has always creating imagery and stories in my mind, so this segment is for me to share those, as well as for you to comment what these songs make you think, how they make you feel, and what they make you see.
Each playlist will definitely have your emotions matching the environment, and each song can be downloaded by clicking the title, and you can go to the artist's official site by clicking their name.
NOW HERE IS "For Toast & Jam: Volume 1":
1. "Breakers" by Local Natives - One of my favorite songs to blast while at the beach. The guitar riffs and vocal harmonies implant imagery of waves and sunset, and the lyrics complete this iconic vision. You can support the band by buying their album "Hummingbird" on iTunes here.
2. "California" by Delta Spirit - What represents summer for than the "Golden State" itself, right? Carrying a very "Nirvana"-esque sound, Delta Spirit's token song is perfect to play while on a long ride, on a road trip, or just hanging with your friends eating some pizza.
3. "Lust For Life" by Girls - It's such an odd song, sung by a group of guys from the perspective of a girl, by a now-defunct band called "Girls", which only consisted of men. But disregarding that, this song has such a mellow vibe about it; something to play while you sit in your lawn chair and think about the good things going on in your life.
4. "Fruit Snacks" by Kyle - This is one of those very diverse songs that are mellow enough to chill out to, but energetic enough to bounce around to when you're alone or around your friends. Apparently, Kyle, the artist, which fruit snacks and patron and the song is what that taste sounded like. Anyways, a perfect song to listen to when you need to jump around this summer.
5. "Marguerite" by Made In Heights - Made In Heights is possibly one of the best groups that you'll never hear on the radio. This is definitely a song to play when you're hanging out or driving or just lying next to that special someone, and just imagine the palm trees and the passing scenery. You can follow them at their tumblr page, madeinheights, and keep updated on their new releases.
6. "Just Because" by Body Language - Finally, to round off the playlist, we have a nice electro-pop tune from the duo "Body Language". Makes you want to get a group of friends and just run around the park or the beach or just dive into your friends pool. Something to put a smile onto your face.
So there you have, drink some sweet tea or some lemonade or something with two fruits combined and bump some new james.
Until next time, have a blast and check out some other posts, and don't forget to comment which songs you liked below.
Stay tuned.
