Akise’s Ultimate Plan... ?
What was he expecting to accomplish by having Kamado rushed away, anyway?
Yes, I know that the point is moot: He never gets to enact it, whatever it was. But it’s interesting to try and speculate on what he THOUGHT he was going to pull off.
I mean, he makes it clear that he still considers Yuki the best candidate to take Deus’ place, and the only reason he doesn’t turn Kamado over to Yuki and Yuno is because of his distrust of Yuno.
And then Hinata tries to tell Yuki that he doesn’t have to kill Kamado - that in fact, doing so “will make things worse.” Huh. Okay?
So like... what’s the long game?
"Like all of my favorite finales, it’s poorly planned and lacking details.”
Near as I can figure, Akise’s drafted “Plan” goes something like this:
Use Hinata, Mao and Kouska to keep Kamado away from Yuki and Yuno
Try to speak to Yuki alone
Explain to Yuki that Yuno is deceiving him about what he can do if/when he becomes god
Somehow convince him to still try to become god even though his entire reason for becoming god is invalid (details hazy, fill in later)
Now we have to speculate: Try to help Yuki kill Yuno, I guess? Or maybe just kill her when he’s not looking, IDK. He’ll get over it if he buys #4 .... probably....?
Now Yuki can safely become god without cozying up to Yuno for a few days and then dying at her hands, right? So just let him kill Kamado... if we have to. I guess. I mean, I told Hinata that Yuki didn’t have to do that, so um....
........is this really the best I could come up with....... ?
Now... there are a number of ways you could TRY. to fill in these gaps.
Like, for #5, perhaps he figured that the use of the Apprentice diary was exactly the kind of power Yuki would need if he turned against Yuno - it would enable all of his friends to support Yuki via their own diaries, which could counterbalance even Yuno’s unique ability to foresee Yuki’s every move. (Because she can’t see anyone else’s, after all.)
This might be undone by the manga’s narration boxes. They seem to suggest that Akise somewhat expected Yuki to kill Hinata, Mao and Kosaka - and that this all fell within the acceptable parameters of Akise’s plan. Wait. WHAT?
Since Akise displays the ability to hack 11th’s Diary and repurpose it for himself, maybe he was going to somehow hack the remaining diaries to... uh... cancel the killing game?
You DID notice that the world is ending and there needs to be SOMEONE on the throne of space and time, right, Akise? I don’t see you somehow magically hacking Deus’s god brain to force him to choose a new god with a new method... I mean, this dude is happy to accept “end of all existence in this world” as a valid endgame point, as seen in the Redial manga.
Bottom line: It’s hard to fully piece together a logical progression through a solid plan here. And again, we don’t have to because we never have to see what it is. We are left to only imagine what he was up to. But I... can’t quite imagine something that fits what we seem to be given. Not easily, at any rate.
Maybe he had no real plan at all except “Save Yuki from Yuno. Accept his kisses and cuddles of gratitude, which of course I expect he will give me. All other priorities rescinded.”
