Toffebruary Day 17: Plans (Better late than never!)
Celena, about to tell Toffee there's a spell for that: Oh you haven't heard?
How about a napkin sketch for Day 6 of Toffebruary?
Prompt: Magic.
In the Disgrace AU, Celena is the one who taught Toffee everything he knows about magic and the four suits. So have a sketch of Celena teaching Toffee how to use his own powers as a fellow master of all four suits!
"I'll breathe when they try to suffocate me
Don't you underestimate me
'Cause I know that I won't go speechless"
The title card for the prologue/chapter 0 of One Pace From Disgrace. I plan to draw a title card for each chapter. And I know that fanfic writers tend to overdo the "these song lyrics go along with this chapter" trope, but unfortunately I'm a sucker for it. I usually have a music playlist going while drawing and writing, and it seemed fitting to share with you guys which song inspired which chapter and title card.
For the prologue, I listened to Speechless from Aladdin 2019 while drawing this card. It was perfect, really, considering Celena's history of staying shy and afraid even in the face of injustice, then forcing Lekmet to stay silent like she did.
WIP title card for the prologue of One Pace From Disgrace
Based on this, what do guys think the prologue is about?
"You know, people like us tend to forget how to just have fun."
Celena and Toffee have been on their fair share of magical adventures, despite his hatred of magic. She has plenty of powers and charmcasting techniques she purposely left out of the Book of Spells (Star just doesn't seem to get the concept of "cosmic secrets"), among them being extra-dimensional manipulation. She's pulled Toffee across space-time and into pocket dimensions several times, all while teaching him everything she knows about magic...including how to destroy it.
