My take on Star's redacted season 4 dress. What's this? A Festivia-inspired color scheme? On Star? It's more likely than you think.

Dialogue Practice #2
Toffee: We have to go now.
Moon: Right.
Star: Mom?! You're with him...?
Moon: I'm sorry Star. I can't go back. Not after everything I've learned.
Toffee: *opens portal*
Moon: *looks at Magic High Commission*
Moon: You were right, Star. Don't trust them.
Star: Mom, wait!
Moon *hurrying through the portal*:
I love you!
"I hold back the heartache, the lost paradise. I'm searching for answers behind the black-shot eyes."
My entry for the Lyric Redraw Challenge on Amino. Song of choice: Black-Shot Eyes by The Storm. This also acts as a title card for one of the chapters of One Pace From Disgrace, where Star searches for the origins of Festivia, knowing she'll inevitably have to cross paths with Toffee if she wants the truth. And this time, she's prepared for him.
Honestly, finally finding a time and place to put Celena's funeral in the story, you have no idea how many things it solves that I've beem struggling with. Having Star get her soul stolen by Toffee at the funeral instead of directly at St. Orville's gives them the time for a conversation that I've been looking for. Until then, it was just "MHC crystallizes Gadfly, Toffee gets pissed and accidently soul-robs Star, MHC gives him 5 minutes to fix his fuck-up, Star roams around inside Toffee's head and make a little conversation with him". There wasn't a whole lot of time to say anything.
But now there's a little breathing room. Star and Toffee decide to work things out at the funeral, only for the MHC to ruin everything again, and Toffee has to run away from the funeral with Star's half dead body (and set a few traps for the MHC). Now I actually have time for a decent conversation between them, and a little collaboration on how to fix the fuck-up (something Battle For Mewni seriously lacked).
"See the chains that I wrestle, and the score I will settle? I can see them walking hand in hand."
WIP for a challenge on the Star Vs Amino. Inspired by the song Black Shot Eyes by The Storm.
I finally found a place to write Celena's funeral into my story...and it's the last place I expected to.
I realized my whole problem is that I was making the day of her funeral, the day she gives Eclipsa her blessing, and the day she gives Star her last fortune all in the same day. But I don't have to do that. I can put Eclipsa's blessing and Star's fortune in the same day and place it before the coronation, and I've decided that Celena's funeral itself is going to be after the coronation. More specifically, I'm going to place it directly before the final confrontation between Star, Toffee, and the MHC at St. Orville's
Star: If black magic isn't bad, why is it literally killing you from the inside out?
Toffee: Corn's good for you, too, but try injecting it into your bloodstream and then we'll talk.
Sketch dumps from part two, arc 4 of my AU, aka the Star Arc. Needed to practice visualizing some pivotal moments, such as Toffee and Rasticore's argument, Moon discovering Toffee is Festivia's father, Moon refusing to go back to Mewni with Star, etc. Also wanted to remind myself that Toffee is slowing decaying from the black magic in his blood (poor guy loses his dimensional mace, too).
