Always remember your roots
Here's a quick project I worked up while I had COVID a couple weeks ago. Fast to dress and weave as a palette cleanser from the frustration of the Christmas towels.
I used knitpicks Dishie cotton yarn sett at 8epi for two hand towels and a washcloth. I bought the yarn originally for some Purlsoho knitted dish towels, but found it to be a little too heavy and absorbent. Like, they got wet and stayed wet.
Tin Tiles dishtowel by Purlsoho in Dishie Kenai:
It was a fun challenge to calculate what I could make with what I had-- all I've got left now is 34g of the orangey brown.
Here they are right off the loom!
And washed up:
I used the draft I designed for the first project I did on my own, which was lionbrand Touch of Linen sett at 10epi. I really like them, they're wonderfully soft and drapey. I'll probably make a separate post for the stuff I've made with the Touch of Linen yarn.
And here are the samples I made with the Yarnworker sampling looms I got for Christmas! Blue fringe is 12 epi, orange is 8. You can see I also played around with different fringes-- I don't really like the way regular fringe looks and twisted fringe takes a long fucking time. I'm interested in like a knotted macrame sort of situation but I think I need to actually look up how to do it instead of just making it up lol
Candle day! I’ve been working in ointments all week but I’m tired of washing oily dishes so I’m doing candles instead. Something no one ever tells you when you start a small herbal/witchcraft business is that you’ll do endless dish washing. Literally never ends...
Working on another Creme Brulee dish towel between big projects!
I've had a true weekend for the first time in ages, so I watched a lot of @criticalrole and crocheted a bunch of market bags.
Playing with the idea of reopening my etsy, like half of the world is right now.
Made this cotton face scrubbie with a subtle heart detail tonight. It knitted up quick and I love how the Dishie "sunshine" yarn looks. Gonna make a ton more of these!
