Joe got a bit hurt yesterday. I don't know how, but he dislocated his femur from his hip. He's recovering now, but he's stuck in my room and floor until we don't have to worry about it dislocating again. Hopefully he recovers fine, he's in a bit of pain, but he's still a loving boy.
I need advices
During night I dislocated my hip, not just subluxed, freaking dislocated and it hurts
Please do anyone have tips on what to do ? I can't find pattern for Kinesic Tape, heat does not help, ice neither, I can stand but not bend at all so sitting is fun, I really don't know what to do...
Fuck why my hip gotta play me like this. It's only the start of my work week.
Dealing with Infant Hip Displasia.
Elsie was born with a dislocated hip and has been wearing a series of contraptions since she was 2 weeks old. We did whatever we needed to do to help her little hip grow in the right direction. But it was hard. We dealt with it the best we could (with the help of leg warmers & photoshop). But it was really hard.
This was the first day she got her Pavlik harness. Our little 2 week old baby. It was as awful as it looks
Leg warmers helped us feel a little more fashionable.
Her skydiving lessons paid off!
After 6 weeks of wearing the Pavlik harness, the doctors said her hip was still not looking good. They upgraded her to the Rhino brace. It was much less cumbersome. Still way more than I wanted on my baby. But look at that trooper! Fist up, ready to fight!
After 8 weeks of wearing the Rhino brace, her hip was headed in the right direction and she only had to wear the brace at night. This is one of our favorite memories of her when she managed to wiggle her leg out of the brace. So proud of herself!
Today we found out that Elsie's hip is in the socket and we are done with contraptions! Happy 6 month birthday, baby! You're free! 🎉 We are brace-free and feeling fantastic! It was a long road. But worth every step. We would do it all again for our sweet girl!
In sharing this it is our hope that it will give other parents a little reassurance. When you’re in it it is easy to feel helpless, like things will always be this way. Obviously every situation is different but hopefully seeing our story, with a begininng, middle and end, will help someone else get through this.
Fear and Me
I wish this battle would finally be over, but that’s not how things played out…again. The fear is here with me, uninvited as usual. My mantra is: If you don’t move, you won’t break.I am alone until tomorrow. I will keep my phone with me, in case I break again.I am bruised from the last reduction. Will it be the last? If I am still, it will.A revision may fix what keeps separating.Everyone is afraid.…
Well then
My hip has been hurting these past few days.
And I’m just like
well hi there, hello there hip.
I haven’t thought about you in such a long time.
You haven’t shouted at me in like forever!
I kinda thought you were aligned.
But my hip gets it. There were other priorities it was allowing me to tend to first.
Our bodies are designed to be kind and that’s a beautiful beautiful thing.
My hip is demanding some attention and attention it will get.
So, I finally had some answers about my hip pain...
