GUYS, GUYS!!
It has absolutely nothing to do with HTTYD BUT it’s still important!
You surely don’t know about that but I’m a really big fan of Disney universe and I always dreamed about working there so I applied to a summer job.
And guess what? I just received this:
It’s an invitation to a job interview at Disneyland Paris!
I’M SOOOOO HAPPY RIGHT NOW!! And I just wanted to share this with you my dear friends!!
Hope you have a nice day!
Disney Interview Prep
I remember back when I was trying to prepare for my first Disney interview, I scoured the internet for anything that could help me. I desperately wanted an idea of what my interview would be like. Since then, I've passed 3 Disney interviews (hopefully, soon to be 4!!). So, I thought I would pay it forward and share the LONG list of practice questions that I've put together over the years.
_____________________________________________________________
Some general tips and tricks:
Dress to impress: a lot of Disney recruiters are more interested in getting a feel for your personality and character than they are in the answers you give.
Be personable: smile, make eye contact, don't hesitate to make jokes
Connect your answers to concrete examples, and use the STAR method to answer questions (S- situation, T- task, A-action, R- result): When asked for examples, always be clear with the situation, how you took action, and what the result was.
Do your research about the role you're interested in and tailor your answers to it: if you want to be in merchandise, showcase your courtesy and efficiency skills. If you want to be a lifeguard, showcase your safety skills.
Research the core values and culture of the Disney company: storytelling, the 5 keys, creativity, imagination, exceptional guest service, etc.

Welcome to the Blog!!

I've decided to try a new way of documenting my CRP so that I have something awesome to look back on when its all said and done.
Maybe this is a smidge preemptive, because I don't have the job yet... just an interview. But maybe, by just putting this out into the universe, it'll help make my dream a reality!
T-minus 23 days until the interview!!
The CEP Interview
Hey everyone!
Here’s a little explanation of my interview process for the Canada Cultural Exchange Program and some tips for the face to face interview! Fair warning: all interviews are a little awkward, and no matter what, you might feel as nervous as Lilo looks in this scene!
The Day of:
So it is 3 am
and my Disney Interview is officially tomorrow
I am so excited, I have been applying and talking about the CRP for 4 years now
and I need this more than ever
Disney International Program - Interview!
Hello Citizens of the Internet! So two days ago I had my interview for the program that my university offers in connection with the University of California Riverside, so I thought I would make a post explaining the process and what happened in the day, just in case it's of use to any of you guys!
3am
I was still awake, severely nervous and struggling to sleep. Honestly, it was like trying to sleep at Christmas as a kid. I ended up falling asleep at about 3:30am. Ouch.
7:15am
Woke up, did my makeup and got dressed (I don't have a picture of my outfit but I wore a black primark dress with silky sleeves, and a black blazer with tights and boots). I was ready crazily early as always, and after procrastinating for almost an hour, I left. 9:15am I had a presentation to attend that was done by two WDW Cast Members, plus a representative of UCR. This was really interesting as I learnt a lot more about the program I would be taking part in, as well as meeting the interviewers and seeing what they were like! To my relief, all three of the ladies were absolutely lovely, which made me so much more relaxed for the following interviews. 11-12 Interview time! I had two interviews, which I was NOT expecting! The first was with another girl, and for UCR. A few of the questions they asked were: -What previous experience have you had in customer service? -Tell me about yourself -Name a time that you gave excellent customer service -Have you ever lived alone? And then the second interview was with Disney! I felt so much more relaxed after having finished my UCR interview, I knew that I could talk about Disney for hours, so was much calmer. Again, the lady that interviewed me was SO lovely, and we laughed for most of the time, which again really comforted me. Some of the questions I was asked in here were: -Have you visited the park? -What would you do if you were serving a customer in merchandise and their card declined? -What would you do if you were working Space Mountain and a child in the family was 1cm too short? -Why did you apply for the program? And that was it! I then met some of my friends (including my best friend Lewis that I made a "Guess that Disney Song" Challenge with, see below!) and just got to relax! I now have the horrible task of waiting to hear back, so fingers very tightly crossed! Honestly though the interview was so laid back and hardly felt like an interview at all, so if any of you have your interviews coming up, don't stress, just keep smiling and you will be fab!! Thank you for the support guys it means the world! TTFN Rachel xox
The face to face interview
It feels surreal how fast the stage of the f2f interviews was over. I remember how far away they seemed at the very beginning.
My friend Hanna (@hannagoesthedistance) and I arrived in Frankfurt one day before the actual interview. We got up very early the next day and after meeting with two lovely girls at the main station in Frankfurt and getting ourselves breakfast, we made our way towards the hotel where the interviews took place.
We met Javier, Nick and Joy - the Disney recruiters. Joy checked us in in the morning. She was very very nice while welcoming us and asked every single person how they are while checking in. At the same time she tried to calm our nerves a little. After our check in Javier did the presentation while Nick and Joy commented once in a while. There was information on for example the roles available for the Germany pavilion, the housing and the visa we’ll need if accepted. Some people were surprised about the alcohol rules and didn’t hide their dislike (what appeared quite strange to me to be honest…I mean the legal drinking age of 21 is something most people know of?).
The presentation lasted about an hour and we were told to come back at least 15 minutes before our assigned interview time window. But otherwise Javier said it would be best to take a walk or get lunch to make sure we wouldn’t go crazy while waiting. Together with a few lovely girls and the boyfriend of one of the girls who came with her as support, we went to a small and very cute cafe. We stayed there for several hours. From there every one of us went back to the hotel for their own interview.
And concerning the interview itself…I was VERY nervous although many people told me there is absolutely no reason to panic. And guess what? It’s true! My interviewer was Nick and he really was incredibly awesome and nice. He asked why I wanted to do the program, if I have ever lived on my own and if I would be willing to work outside. He went through my Disney role checklist and asked again for my preferences and why I prefered food and beverage. Then we started to talk about German food…especially potato salad.
My best friend also had Nick as her interviewer. And I was so lucky to have her with me in Frankfurt! I can’t imagine how much more I would have been freaking out without her. A lot I guess.
And now we have to wait…We were told that we should have our results before the end of november at the latest. We’ll see…I’m so exited!
