disneymania
spent a few hours listening to Disneymania albums (as you do), and I’ve determined that when Everlife covers a song, it immediately turns it into a queer anthem
please, I’m begging you - go listen to the Everlife covers of “Reflection”, “Look Through My Eyes”, and especially “Strangers Like Me”, holy shit
I’ve loved their “Strangers Like Me” cover since a friend gave it to me on a mix CD in 2006, but the others are also so good and so gay
like, “Reflection” in particular is a massive trans mood! and “Strangers Like Me” is the exact feeling of realizing that other queer people exist, and finding something that you can relate to for the first time!
it’s amazing.
...and since I’m here, here are some of my other Disneymania faves:
“I’ll Try” by Jesse McCartney - I loved this when it came out, and I love it still
“Kiss the Girl” by Ashley Tisdale - this song rocks, and it manages to be gay as hell, even though it’s definitely supposed to be straight
“Part of Your World” by Skye Sweetnam - this one also rocks!
“Hawaiian Roller Coaster Ride” by Jump5 - ...I just like Jump5, okay? I saw them in concert once and everything, and I still listen to them if I need that upbeat nostalgia
(oh! Baha Men also covered “Hawaiian Roller Coaster Ride”! their version is fun as hell, and it’s on all of my summer playlists)
“When She Loved Me” by Jordan Pruitt - I almost forgot, but this one is gay too! Disney managed to make this into a lesbian breakup song, and it’s tragic
anyway, this has been: SBS obsessing over disney songs for most of an afternoon, apparently.
Today in Disney Channel History...
Disneymania 6, the sixth instalment in a series of compilation albums featuring Disney Channel stars singing classic Disney songs, was released (20 May, 2008)
the jonas brothers are back together, so this seems like as good a time as any to post this playlist of like 2006-2010 era disney channel songs.
Okay so these two albums (Disneymania 3 and one of the Disney Radio CDs) were my childhood, and I'm listening to them as I try to be productive, so I thought I would share
A playlist featuring Aly & AJ, Jesse McCartney, Rihanna, and others
Enjoy the nostalgias.
