Everlife - Go Figure (2005)
anyone remember dancing around your bedroom to these songs. ughhhhhhhh i still want a love like the second song
Life might not go the way we think we want, might even lead us through dark nights and across stormy seas, but we can’t give up.
Gena Showalter, Everlife
Today I'm working on a new system for my upcoming life simulation game, Everlife!
The existing Life Goals system gives players specific achievements to aim for, like reaching the top of a career track or living to 100.
Milestones are a new way to track the pivotal moments within each stage of life:
Examples include:
Got License
Attended Prom
Joined a Fraternity
Fell in Love
Endured Midlife Crisis
What Milestones do you hope to see in Everlife?
spent a few hours listening to Disneymania albums (as you do), and I’ve determined that when Everlife covers a song, it immediately turns it into a queer anthem
please, I’m begging you - go listen to the Everlife covers of “Reflection”, “Look Through My Eyes”, and especially “Strangers Like Me”, holy shit
I’ve loved their “Strangers Like Me” cover since a friend gave it to me on a mix CD in 2006, but the others are also so good and so gay
like, “Reflection” in particular is a massive trans mood! and “Strangers Like Me” is the exact feeling of realizing that other queer people exist, and finding something that you can relate to for the first time!
it’s amazing.
...and since I’m here, here are some of my other Disneymania faves:
“I’ll Try” by Jesse McCartney - I loved this when it came out, and I love it still
“Kiss the Girl” by Ashley Tisdale - this song rocks, and it manages to be gay as hell, even though it’s definitely supposed to be straight
“Part of Your World” by Skye Sweetnam - this one also rocks!
“Hawaiian Roller Coaster Ride” by Jump5 - ...I just like Jump5, okay? I saw them in concert once and everything, and I still listen to them if I need that upbeat nostalgia
(oh! Baha Men also covered “Hawaiian Roller Coaster Ride”! their version is fun as hell, and it’s on all of my summer playlists)
“When She Loved Me” by Jordan Pruitt - I almost forgot, but this one is gay too! Disney managed to make this into a lesbian breakup song, and it’s tragic
anyway, this has been: SBS obsessing over disney songs for most of an afternoon, apparently.
