Putting some good out to the universe
Happy Hump Day!!!!!! Hope everyone is having a great day! I wanted to jump on here and share a little something with you guys. Whether you know me well or not, you can tell that there is one thing in my life I am passionate about. That one thing isn’t actually a “thing”, but happens to be person. It’s my younger brother Ralph. My brother has been diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes for a little over 7 years and although he is used to the daily routine by now, time has not made it any easier to accept. I decided to do something a little outside my comfort zone and sign up to run a 10k… not just any 10k, but one that is part of Disney’s Marathon Weekend. The most amazing part about this opportunity is that I was able to choose to join an organization’s team that will allow me to fundraise money for them.
So like everything else in my life, I asked Ralph what he wants me to do. “What group would you like me to raise money for?” I asked. He asked what the money raised will be doing for these groups. I explained that the majority of these organizations are focusing their efforts to understanding certain disorders and coming up with new technology on how to cope with them. He instantly replied that he wanted me to raise money for Diabetes because he thinks this will help fund research for a possible cure in the future.
Therefore, I have chosen to join team JDRF, the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, to help raise funds for the millions of people that are either living with or affected by Type 1 Diabetes. Our family, like many others, looks forward to the day that our loved one no longer has to prick themself countless times, receive insulin injections, and can eat their favorite dessert without the anxiety that their sugar will spike. So I am kindly asking all my family and friends to make a donation to help me reach my fundraising goal to ensure that T1D research continues. It not only means a lot to my family but many others around the globe. If you have any questions about this race or T1D do not hesitate to send me a message! https://www2.jdrf.org/site/TR/Challenge/JDRFNationalChallenge?px=12226501&pg=personal&fr_id=7549
