Commander's Log // Entry 2 // 27 Jan 3312
After docking on the carrier "DSEV Odysseus" about a week ago it has finally arrived at the first carrier waypoint, where the ship based part of the expedition begins, the next waypoint a little over 20,000 lightyears away. As of writing this log I have travelled approximately 12,300 lightyears.
Overheating caused by attempting to charge the hyperspace drive while too close to large stars and injection of exotic matter from neutron stars into the drive has caused major damage to non critical flight assist systems and minor damage to more important modules. The hyperspace drive however is malfunctioning occasionally and sometimes fails to charge.
But more importantly here's some pictures of the cool stuff I found!
Some plants on rocky desert planets with minimal atmospheres, not too unlike what Mars is said to have looked like prior to being terraformed by the Federation
A pair of binary stars that orbit rather close to each other
Some ocean planets with carbon based life beneath their waters, unfortunately I'm yet to come across any earthlike planets
Overall nothing too interesting so far, no anomalies or extremely rare phenomena, however good pictures are always a success in my book. I will post another log entry once I reach the rendezvous point.
