Me looking into the future and wondering how much longer it will be before all the green places I love so much will look like this desert. The end of June and the beginning of July have felt more like August. Hot, dry, dusty. Our attempts at gardening and growing some herbs shriveling at the onslaught of heat and the intensity of the sun. Granted we are amateurs but it’s still concerning to watch a drought hardy plant wither in the course of a day. I’m not sure if I’ll be able to nurse that Rosemary plant back to health or if I should just cut it down now and save the crackling stems for other purposes… The ocean is burning, weather patterns are growing more extreme, and micro plastics might be the ultimate downfall of us all. And here I sit in my A/C musing on all the insanity and injustice in the world, as useless as the next person against the onslaught of time and the apathy of the powerful.
