They remind me just how fragile human life is...a beautiful, brief, glorious moment in time before we rot and decay for all eternity~
I guess so, yes.

.... Apollo wants desperately to believe that he’s going to wake up somewhere nicer than where he fell. A bell rings somewhere in his subconscious, faint and tinkling. Despair fills him.

[Surprise sketch of our threads combined! I’ve never been so excited for a plot skjdhkjdhd I may finish it later but I’ll post the sketch cause I’m not sure I’ll finish it today ksdhjdh]
This is new.
Caaan’t say the same.

"I’d like to see you try, Hawthorne. Is that a threat?”
Is he slowly going insane? He really can’t tell, but he isn’t about to let her win.
“Hold it- you...?”
What was that about Gavin? She’d...? When had...?
distanttracesofbeauty:
Dahlia keeps an even tone as she addresses her twin, eyeing her carefully. Iris seems absolutely terrified of her: good. She should be. The anniversary of Dahlia’s execution is nearing, and the powerful spirit’s energy is magnified because of it.
What’s the matter, Iris? Cat got your tongue? It’s only little old me.
She tilts her head to the side gently, but there’s no soft smile to accompany the familiar gesture.
How is life treating you, sister? You look well enough. Perhaps…perhaps you’re in love?
“I... Your execution date...” Is all she can make out, her expression quickly morphing into a pained one. All the words Iris wanted to say and even now she can’t say them. All the apologies she’s ever wanted to make for being a failure to Dahlia, for not being there... They can’t make it past her throat, much less past her lips.
(I’m so sorry...)
“I-I...suppose I’m doing...okay? I thought...this would be the time that I...finally realize your gone. It never hit me, while in prison, but now...” They at least gave Iris the ashes. No body, but that’s fair; she had gotten ill enough on the intrusive thoughts about it, the nightmares that haunted her.
Ashes and a tombstone were fine enough.
Though confusion fills her eyes at Dahlia’s last guess. She... She isn’t wrong, as usual, but the sudden topic has Iris feeling chills. How did she...? What tells does she give that Dahlia knows so well...?
“I... Why do you ask?”
"...miss Hawthorne, I have one request for you. Shut the fuck up and remain in the grave you were buried in." It's almost close to Naoto glaring at the redhead and she takes a break before continuing with the same tension in her voice. "Mr. Edgeworth ISN'T spineless, more like the opposite: Anyone who dares to claim so has no idea how resourceful and calm he is. Besides, taking advantage of one's weak spots is a weak, cowardly move."
More like you are the coward, daughter of a demon. It wasn't his fault DL-6 had happened and that it had left aftermaths. Similarly she wasn't approaching Tokyo airport with a ten-foot pole. 'Take that, Hawthorne.'

Oh, so you do know my name. Interesting. Maybe your useless mother told you more than she should have~
"What do you want?"
