Thinking every District has something like the Covey from Twelve, just nomads who got trapped in the Districts with their own customs and cultures.
And by that I mean full blown cultures, wedding ceremonies, stuff like coming of age ceremonies and things like that.
I admit I mostly got this idea after reading about Hunters of Artemis and high priestess’ essentially went “what if District Seven had wandering hunters who swore off love and relationships?”
With those who do basically being exiled and left to the Districts? Maybe one of Lamina’s parents is one or something.
víctor of the 68th hunger games at age 15 // district 7 // victor of “titus’ games”, winter forest arena // “snow’s princess” “the perfect little victor” “the cannibal victor”
HER GAMES OVERVIEW
• survived for nearly 3 weeks in a sub-zero forest arena
• fan favourite from the beginning, she was young (only just 15) and funny, and deliberately over-sexualised herself in the interviews running up to the games to get sponsors
• therefore once in the realities of the arena, she was gifted things like furs and hot drinks, and when she eventually resorted to cannibalism she was forgiven, unlike titus (one of the last few left in there with her)
• for the first week she hid from everybody with her district partner, using the cameras as a reality show and putting on her best performance for the capitol
• her district partner was killed by the career pack at the end of the first week and, with enough of the competition dead, she came out of hiding and started killing
• she was sent twin daggers whilst in the arena, and got two out of the five remaining careers (district one boy and district two girl) within the hour of her district partner’s death
• she proved to be a bloodthirsty competitor, to the capitol’s delight, and racked up a body count of eight in the next week
• at the beginning of week three, food had completely ran out, and there were five of them left in the arena: herself, titus, a district five boy, a district ten boy, and the last career - a district four girl called aemma; this was when the cannibalism started
• in this final week, danae and aemma grew close, forming an alliance, sharing danae’s gifts from sponsors, and huddling for warmth at night, #danaemma trending amongst sponsors in the capitol
• titus did it first, and an avalanche took him out the next day, then it was aemma, grotesquely ripping off one of titus’ arms as the helicarrier took him from the arena, then danae, hysterically (the capitol always thought she looked pretty when she cried) biting a chunk from her own arm before aemma returned with parts of titus’ corpse
• on the last day, the emaciated boys from five and ten made a last ditch attempt at winning, and shot aemma with an arrow from where they were in a tree
• danae then turned utterly feral with grief and anger, a lot stronger than the boys due to her dip into cannibalism, and graphically murdered the two of them with her daggers, winning her games sat in the snow, soaked with blood, and a fresh blizzard coming down, covering the three bodies surrounding her
• she was heralded as “the perfect victor” as she returned home (or should i say moved to the capitol), she was the tragic, funny, martyr of a victor the capitol wanted, and ended up completely despised by her home district
• she reacted as pleasantly as she could to president snow’s plan to pimp her out, and often specifically sought him out to express her ‘support’ towards him and gain his trust, marking her as an enemy to the rest of the victors
• she spent most of her year in the capitol, becoming close to the ‘higher-ups’ and gaining access to a plethora of information - not finnick’s current events, plans, or politics, but the history of panem, what life was like before the districts, the alleged “america”
• she had herself a ‘boyfriend’ back home for appearances, who not-so-secretly resented her for being a ‘district traitor’
• she fell pregnant at nineteen, her boyfriend back home being the father (after a rare hate-fuck) - three years after president snow ordered her to have her tubes tied, and she paid off the surgeons to say that she had
• now pregnant, hated by her district and the disappointment of the capitol, she was called in to be a mentor for the 71st games, for one johanna mason...

masters of camouflage, the dryads live in the trees of district seven. for an inexperienced eye, they can easily be looked over. with a strong connection, they can bring any tree to life. watch out, as their sappy spit is the opposite of healing.
Because of the alphabetical proximity of their names, Wesley had a front row seat when little Maple Reeves landed herself in detention. At first, Wesley had laughed along with the rest of the class, but his amusement soured when he saw just how upset she was about getting into trouble. Wesley wore trouble like it was a second skin, so maybe he shouldn’t have been so surprised that Maple did not seem to know how to deal with the punishment. They were opposites in more ways than one, after all.
Although he couldn’t explain exactly why, Wesley didn’t like seeing her that upset. It troubled him all day, even though he tried to shake off the feeling. Still, he couldn’t get over how outrageous it was that she was being treated like a bad student. He’d cheated off of her tests enough times to know that she wasn’t the sort of student who should be sent to detention. Who cared if she wasn’t paying attention? She was still one of the best students in the class.
It was not that her love of learning stopped. It was still there, but there was almost a certain amount of boredom. The teacher did not go as fast as she might have liked. She felt like she learned everything that they had to offer and because of how school was structured, she was stuck in her class and could not jump ahead. So sometimes, that translated to staring out the window and daydreaming or stifling a yawn behind her hand while she forced herself to listen. However, he favorite past time was to write. She'd do it on scraps of paper or in the back of her notebooks. It didn't matter what. Sometimes it was poems, sometimes it was little stories. She liked to pass them to her friends when she finished them. She was always so careful. She made sure that she never got caught doing it and so far it had worked.
When the reaping finally began, I think I forgot how to breathe as soon as the escort reached their hand into that bowl because I swear I felt like I was going to pass out. That feeling definitely didn't get any better when I heard the name that echoed around the town square. It wasn't mine ... but it was Fox's. I don't really remember much else from that day because the shock of everything had clearly just overwhelmed me. I know that my brother was safe and that we all got to say our goodbyes to Fox before she was shipped off to the Capitol to prepare. Between the nerves and fear that I had been experiencing that whole morning combined with the way I felt after hearing my sister's name ... it was all a little bit too much for me I guess and I just sort of shutdown in a way I suppose. My mom said that it's normal and that I was simply dealing with shock but it pains me to not even be able to remember what I said to Fox in our last moments together.
