Role: Disgraced “prince” of the Water Tribes

Personality: At the start of the story, Sokka is bitter and calculating, often complaining about benders and their negative qualities. He's very responsible, taking their role as the head of their crew seriously. However, although he may seem tough and prickly, Sokka is still easy to prod out of his shell and will become chatty and talkative, especially about the things that he's passionate about. One of the things unique about Sokka is that he'll prioritize the bigger goal rather than their own personal things; in other words, Sokka isn't as selfish as you would think. Sokka is intelligent, creative, and good at coming up with quick ideas. Upon joining Team Avatar, he was quickly chosen as the strategist.

Speaking of Team Avatar, he grew more humble during their journey and during their time in Toph’s merry band of misfits, and more prone to pranking the others. Of course, Zuko and Azula didn’t quite find it as hilarious as the others.

Description: Sokka has dark skin with even darker hair; the sides of their head is shaved and the rest of their hair is pulled into a ponytail. He has a braid going down the left side of their face that ends in a blue bead. Sokka has dull blue eyes and a large slash scar over their left eye. He wears a fluffy dark blue shawl with pale blue moon-shapes and white fur lining; their pants are two-toned blue and black, with high brown boots, belt, and black gloves.

Backstory: Sokka spent their childhood watching their sister take all of their father’s love. He watched her refuse things that he would’ve done anything to get or keep for mere seconds. He watched as she tantrumed and yelled at her teachers; eventually, Sokka had enough and yelled at her to stop. Upon an awkward confrontation with their father, Sokka received a slash scar over their left eye and was banished, only coming back when he had the Avatar.

Co-Writer Oz is here now.

Evening, my name is Oswald. Known online as either @/Radio_St4t1c or @0zmodeus I have been Co-writing DITR for quite some time now but most of my contributions have been behind the scenes, I'm a writer first, artist second. I provide the ideas while Myra draws them. I am also the designer of White Mocha Cookie, Ice Fissure Cookie, and Red Velvet's 2nd watcher costume. The creation of White Mocha was one of my first contributions to this story and he has since become a core part of it. I'm also responsible for most if not all of the backstory for this au's version of Red Velvet Cookie. As well as contributing several pieces of lore and world building. I more or less keep everything organized and try to look out for any sort of plot holes.

Of course, I don't wish to discredit Myra's writing as well as she was the original creator of the au, but we've agreed that I've contributed enough to be considers its co-writer. I have my own stories and writing that will be released sometime in the future but for now I simply work backstage. I'm always open to answering any confusing plot questions or anything to do with character motives. In the future I will tag all my posts with "Co-Writer Oz 「🌙」"

Two underrated moments in ditr: 

Toris finally snapping and calling Gilbert a freeloader, making it absolutely clear that despite Ed and Raivis’s touching offer for Gil to be part of their family, he is most certainly not, and when Ed tries to intervene, Toris snaps at Ed to shut up and that he should have obeyed Ivan.

Ed, Toris, and Gil lasting about 5 seconds scolding Raivis before they devolve into a yelling match at each other, which involves: 

Ed telling Gilbert he needs to “develop a sense of self-preservation” 

Toris telling Gil to back the fuck up cause he’s only known Raivis for 2 days. 

Gilbert suggesting that the reason Raivis likes him so much is because he’s sick of Ed and Toris cause they’re dusty and boring.

Ed trying to step in but Toris shutting him down yet AGAIN because he still thinks Ed was a fucking idiot for disobeying Ivan. 

Raivis standing there as they argue over who can take better care of him until he has to scream for the three of them to shut up.
