Rolex Submariner 1680 onboard Space Shuttle The November 1995 space shuttle “Atlantis” STS-74 was the 4th mission of the 1995-1998 US/Russian Shuttle-Mir program and the 2nd docking with the Russian space station. During the 4 year program, many spaceflight firsts ocurred, first NASA astronaut to fly onboard a Soyuz capsule (March 1995 - Norman Thagard) and first NASA astronaut to spacewalk in a Russian Orlan space suit (April 1997 - Jerry Linenger). US Marine Corps aviator, STS-74 shuttle commander Kenneth Cameron made his third & final spaceflight, a special occasion during which he wore his Rolex Submariner 1680 “Red” diving toolwatch 8 days 4 hours 30 minutes in space. This was the third time a Rolex Submariner was flown in space, as US Navy Captain NASA astronaut William Shepherd had worn his Rolex Submariner 5513 during 1990 Discovery STS-41 and 1992 Columbia STS-52.
