Seconds before tragedy strikes...
This arc is so overlooked, honestly!
I loved the story of the two clans and this quote hit hard:
Gintama Stills for Every (Canon) Episode → [196/316] “Not Losing to the Wind”
↳ “Only after blundering was I able to see. Only after suffering loss was I able to understand. You must watch the things that are important with your own two eyes.”
Relatable issues with the first Spider Man trilogy
Please... take care.
A Gintama chapter a day keeps the ending away...Lesson 289
MY FAVORITE MOMENTS IN LESSON 289:
Crystel is such a sweetie. I actually wished that she had taken a more active role in the battle since she has shown she is a capable onmyouji in that tiny glimpse we saw at the start of the arc. Of course it is to her credit that Gedoumaru was summoned, but I would’ve loved to see her SPELLFIGHT.
The demon-slaying dynamic duo.
Teamwork! (Kagura’s contribution is the best!)
I loved her smile too.
The happy ending where everyone made up (except for Douman and Crystel).
Gedoumaru is so sweet too!
Awwww! But honestly, I think Gintoki deserved at least a hug from Crystel.
Poor Douman. He and Zenzou should form a club.
I was glad she realized what Gin-chan and the others did, but I still wish she was present to express her thanks to them directly.
SHIPS TALLY:
SeiDou: I was glad they made up and became friendsies again. That’s enough to open the door for future possibilities in my imagination.
GinGedou: sure, she’s not technically a human being and despite her appearance probably is much older than him, but I can still work with that. I’m not thrilled about the master/servant relationship, but then again, it’s obvious if they were ever to get together, she’d be the boss so it’s all just meaningless titles anyway. I can totally get on this ship.
Disclaimer: Gintama is not only about shipping. Gintama is hilarious, clever, exciting, poignant, heart-breaking, loving, brilliant, and just so freaking amazing. It is only due to Sorachi-sama’s generosity that I can enjoy Gintama on yet another level, the shippy level, and I am forever grateful for that. GINTAMA IS LIFE AND LOVE.

Gintama Stills for Every (Canon) Episode → [195/316] “Not Losing to the Rain!”
↳ “I'm sorry to say that it won't be possible for us to change the weather for you. But there is one thing we can do. Your gloomy face... We can clear it up for you.”
