A personal post. For months now, I've been working harder than I ever have before on my mental health. We're talking therapy up to four times a week, for the past eight or nine weeks, with no breaks. Digging it all up, looking it in the eye, working out how to be unafraid of it all, and then going home and doing everything else that needs doing. I've learned and practiced dozens of new skills, and mostly I am feeling a marked improvement, which is excellent. I've been referring to this as being in recovery, which is true. But I'm very tired, too. It's such hard work, exhausting down to the bones of my soul. It can be one step forward, one step back, sometimes. Last night was a bad one, and this morning, I am still raw. It's hard, guys, doing important work like this. Really hard. But I am still here. I am still myself. (Kitty spirits Lily and Glow have reminded me of that!)
