I have hit peak video game RPG. Last night in Divinity 2 my character both

Fought a god and ended the fight by getting hit so hard the god died (reflective damage for the win!). In my long career of playing large, strong, tank-y men, this is no contest my most epic tank.

Out of absolutely nowhere got an extremely drawn-out romantic scene with his companion, during which the sentient ship we've been sailing on manifested a whole new room for us to sleep together in. My poor foundational partner's character has been attempting to flirt with her companion this whole game, while my disaster bi character has been pursuing every single bad idea hookup the game has offered him but never once flirting with his companion, and yet it's my guy who's getting to find true love. I spent the entire sequence laughing delightedly and somewhat maniacally.

The Baulders Gate 3 cast, could realistically meet, the Divinity 2: Original Sin cast

And all those lil comics people have made of that hypothetical, are all being carried on the back of a necromancer that gets easily bored

Explanation for clarity,

Tarquin is an npc you can meet in Divinity, later you can ask what he plans to do next and he says he's going to travel to another world

Gustavchen a reference to bg3's project name (also where Tav comes from and is named after the developers dog I believe) and then 'the beings that feed on minds' are mindflayers/illithids

Then while going around good ol Baulders Gate you can find a letter on a desk mentioning how this man basically isekai'd himself into bg3
