I have to kill whoever runs this blog
Was listening to a podcast with Alex Saavedra of Eyeball records, where he talks, among many things, about this upcoming generation and he says:
"This demographic of, like 16-22... it's a very mysterious demographic. It's a weird age, right now, a weird time, and kids need a lot of help. Like my peers' children are fucked up. Like, we did not do a good job raising them. They have problems. They need help and that's why I'm glad we're able to do Eyeball the way we do it now, in this fashion, to be able to help them."
This was from August and it really resonated with me because of the mess we have been seeing over the bad behavior of (mainly younger) fans at L.S. Dunes shows. When we, as the older set of musicians and fans express frustration about the kids, we need to remember that it is our responsibility to help them out.
It is our job to make the rules clear, to set good examples, to provide direction, and to provide places where these kids can go so that they can get into the scene.
If we hold true to DIY and punk ethics, then it is our job to foster this generation into something better, not just leave them to rot.
I took my broken glasses and fixed them by adding a chain and charms to keep them weighted and balanced!
Got this pair of jeans I've not been wearing for three years, so instead of throwing 'em away I'm turning 'em into crust shorts. Needed new shorts for the summer, getting a pair for free: I love DIY.
Yes I am misanthropic and wish someone would nuke the entire planet already. Yes I am an outspoken environmentalist and human rights activist who cares about the planet and everyone living on it. We exist.
unfortunately I am also an evil human on this evil planet so I might as well use this evil reality to my own evil advantage and be as evil and sexy as possible while I still can but I can’t be very sexy without my 3 layers of clothing at all times because evil global warming is ruining my evil plan to mind control everyone with the power of evil sexy ambiguously queer androgyny.

I am having the very strange experience of having the wrong opinion and wanting to fight about it. @drubathetuba @messymaelstrom i’d be really interested what your takes are
