I am not a happy cat
So I make wands I hand carve them with a craft knife and smooth them out with steel files big hard core ones.
I wash the sticks I think are good to carve, I scrape off the bark with is usually quite on there and then carve the actual wand design on the wood, I smooth it out make any alterations then give it another once over with the file. This can take anywhere from 4 to 6 hours depending on the design. Because I work on them with out any breaks my hand cramp and I most likely cut myself (i did on my knuckles).
These wands are not fragile I pick strong sticks for a reason, i give with a test i try braking them with quite abit of force so i know it wont break while I'm making it or while the person is using it.
I made one for my brother, took 4 1/2 hours not that complicated of a design washed of the remaining wood power of it for him dryed it then give it to him. I walked out cleaned my file ( it took like two mins max) got my phone because I forgot to take a picture and he had already broken it, snapped in half and he says hes deleted the memory of him snapping it so he doesnt know how he snapped it, it must be my fault. We've super glued it back together and were letting it dry overnight I'm not happy as im sure you can tell.
