a package of care

I haven't sat down to write (actually write) a blog post for some time. the reason is two fold: 1, I don't have much time to write. and 2, I don't have much to say.

if I wrote a blog every day it would likely follow one of two major themes: 1, the enormous amount of work given by the creative circus. and 2, how much I miss my family. the first theme is incredibly redundant and the second is rather sad. therefore, to avoid redundancy and sadness, I've just been posting work ... until today.

after returning from a 6-hour thumbnail marathon at panera, I found this not-so-little box of treasures waiting outside my door. I instantly knew: katie and dots. 

the contents contained a card with numbered clues, alluding to each of the (of course, beautifully wrapped) mini-packages inside. through tears and laughter I guessed and unwrapped each one. from pomegranates and dottie's famous dilly beans, to circus ornaments and a miniature glass pelican ... I felt the love in every stitch and every little gift. 

truth: I miss home more than I admit.

in my never-ending quest to truly define the meaning of "home", katie and dottie's thoughtfulness offers some insight: whether you're there or not, perhaps home is a place where the people you love reside ... and really awesome care packages come from.
