"Recipes and DIYs can be dangerous and wasteful" - say professional cosmetic creators about some of the recipes out there today. Blogs and books go out of date, and do we really know the credentials behind the recipe? Creating cosmetics has increased in popularity since we began to realise how many unnecessary preservatives are in commercially made products. Personally when I started doing DIY's I just followed any booklet or online recipe out there. I quickly realised there is a real secret to getting recipes right and which ones are safe and stable especially around our littlies. Most recipes out there I had noticed do not explain contraindications (things that worsen some conditions). There are even cases where some ingredients can interact with medications so its super important to know at least a little about what ingredient does what.
