Yeah I'll be honest. Reading the interviews with David Jenkins about Izzy and his s2 arc, plus the last few episodes....I have basically no hope that Izzy is going to even apologize for pushing Ed further into his bad place and belittling him for being a soft "namby-pamby". Tbh Izzy's character arc this season feels like a complete 180 from s1 and I'm not loving it. He's not a priority and I'm glad the season is going so well...but like, I've been in the situation where you and someone else aren't getting along, you both say/do some uncool stuff, but only one person apologizes and the other gets off scot free. And it feels so fucking bad. To me, what's happening with Izzy feels like a bully is verbally abusing you so you hit back, but then you get in trouble for throwing the punch with no regard whatsoever for the bully's part in it all.
Don't get me wrong - I'm pretty neutral on Izzy. I could get behind the Izzy redemption arc...if it was clicking with me. And it's just not. It feels really flat and forced from where we left things last season (remember Izzy smiling maniacally after losing a toe and saying Blackbeard is himself again? Yeah. Would love to acknowledge that a smidge.)
Idk. Very open to hearing other people's opinions but again, not interested in an argument or the dizcourse. Izzy fanatics pls dni thank you.
