#vinyloftheday today is a pensive, mostly mellow, mostly instrumental jazz fusion outing from #Dizrythmia. their debut record, came out in the late '80s on the Antilles label, and I remember first finding it as a cassette at the Warehouse in Santa Clara. A super group of sorts, involving @jakkojakszyk, pandit dinesh, danny thompson, and #gavinharrison. It's a lush, understated record that evokes a kind of spacious vibe not unlike pat metheny meets shakti. They only made one other record, several decades later with a slightly different lineup (adding Richard Barbieri), but it's also worth seeking out. #vinyl #quarantunes (at SoFA District) https://www.instagram.com/p/CMhuox7DygQ/?igshid=1pvlmukfolhu3
The 'blue folder' from Dizrythmia era - part tour program, part press kit. Rob Gillies and Noel Crombie apparently came up with the design, with Gillies doing the group portraits. Circa 1977 (not necessarily in correct order...)
