I should've clarified "favorite design update from SMTI to SMTII that isn't Beelzebub?", I realized right after I sent.
So I went with Beelzebub because not a whole lot of demons actually got tangible upgrades or new artwork going from 1 to 2. The archangels, Mara, some of the angel orders, and a few other stragglers like Salamander come to mind but there's not too much to choose from otherwise. But I'll go with one that's less immediately obvious:
SMT2 Bodyconian is a huge upgrade. The fan and boa give her a much more evocative early '90s club vibe, like you've just stepped into Juliana's and are getting blasted in the face by DJ Sick. P-U-S-S-S-S-Y-Y-Y!!!!!! (If you want more context, see the old Bodyconian crib.)
