Friday night, Brazilian liquor brand, Cachaça 51 hosted the launch of their innovative music app, DJ-51 with a party at Villain in tandem with their participation at Williamsburg, Brooklyn’s Northside Festival.
Guests poured in (pun most definitely intended!) all night to use the app and enjoy a series of custom cocktails created specially for the eve by mixologist Matthew Houlihan. The ‘Fresh Finish’ featured carrot and ginger topped off with Cachaça 51, while ‘Only The Wise’ was summer in a cup with blueberry and lemon notes. Blending individual tastes of people in the room using their Spotify libraries, DJ-51, well, “DJ’ed” the event with the help of attendees -- a perfect mix, just like the harmonious blend of liquids in a perfect cocktail. The playlist reflected the collective musical taste of all the fab attendees, from guests like DJ Mick Boogie, vlogger Rachel Martino, blogger Jesse Llyod and media from HelloBeautiful, PIX11, Complex, and Cosmopolitan. Music was on point thanks to all who packed in, so it’s no wonder we partied the night away with an eclectic array of tunes ranging from Walk the Moon, Drake, SBTRKT, Beyonce, and Jamie xx. Yes, we did ALL the dance moves!
