Caipirinha

Brazil's signature drink, the caipirinha is a classic well deserving of its reputation. While the recipe may seem, to casual observation, overly similar to the daquiri, the unique notes of cachaça turn this into a very distinctive experience.

-2 oz cachaça (Leblon)

-3/4 of a lime (slices)

-2 sugarcubes

Put lime slices and sugarcubes in glass. Muddle well. Add cachaça. Muddle some more. Add ice and stir.

Cachaça's a spirit I love, and one that is tragically slept on stateside. It'll certainly taste 'different' to most people without experience in the category, or grassier rums, but I think a good caipirinha will make a believer of most. It's a really special drink.
