Hello my friend, I have returned. This time I instead of a question I have a fic request if you don't mind. I would like to see what would happen if Toph had to choose between Kanto or Sokka?
Hi hi!
I’m sorry this took me forever omg but I remembered you sent this and that I have a fic that kind of fits this scenario
In the fic I’m referring to—Long Way Down—Toph is with Kanto and he dies before she finds out that she’s pregnant. It’s in Toph’s perspective, but I believe that had it been in Sokka’s and written prior to where the events of the fic start, we would be able to observe how Sokka takes a step back from Toph because he can see how happy she is living her life alongside the person she loves. No jealousy, no drama, just initially unrequited love that later blooms into something more when Toph has healed.
I don’t love the idea of Toph choosing between either of them, and I don’t think she would. I feel like she’d much rather take herself out of the equation as a whole, actually lol. So this was the best I could come up with!
I hope this kind of works for your request haha

Send me fic requests and asks about Tokka and Kantoph or anything at all :)
Hello my friend, I realized it has been a while since I sent an ask, so I'm requesting the unhealthy relationship prompt #4 if you want to.
Hey hey! Thanks for the request, been a minute since I've seen you in my inbox!
This one got a little long, so I uploaded the rest of it to AO3 :)
I hope you enjoy!

4. “Everything was going great until you decided that your pride was more important.”
They were in bed when he told her that he loved her for the first time.
It was the morning after a stuffy banquet that neither of them had wanted to attend, but were dragged to anyway thanks to Katara’s insisting. Toph nor Sokka was having a lot of fun and somehow, someway, they ended up locked in each other’s embrace, unable to let go.
And strangely enough, it felt right like nothing else had before. It felt like it was something that was bound to happen; like their bodies were made for each other and each other only.
His hands were desperate at first, and so were hers admittedly, but then, all movements slowed to the pace of honey dripping into a bowl. They enjoyed the feeling of their hands on each other’s skin, their taste, their heat — everything.
They knew each other up and down, like their own selves. It was the kind of familiarity one could only have if they’d been friends with someone for as long as Toph and Sokka had. And it was beautiful.
They woke up in a tangle of extremities, and her head was on his chest, her hair tickling his nose. He assumed that the tickle was what awoke him.
Attempting to not wake her, Sokka took a deep breath and tried to stand, though as soon as he moved, Toph grunted lowly as her eyes fluttered open and her palm flattened against his chest.
“Morning,” he whispered as if speaking above the tone he did would burst the perfect, little bubble of a dream he found himself in.
She rubbed her eyes and turned her head up to face him. “Morning.”
And good grief, she was beautiful. How it had taken him so long to accept that he had thought so for the longest time, he didn’t know. But she was beautiful and the thought of not having her the way he’d had her the night before again made him sick. So he said it.
“I love you.”
The words just slipped out, he didn’t even process that he’d said them until Toph propped herself up on her elbow, her hand still firmly on his chest, likely to feel his pulse and figure out if he was lying. He wasn’t.
He had figured out that he wasn’t almost immediately because, Spirits, he really did love this woman. They had gone through so much together, gone through almost every major life change by each other’s side, and he still hadn’t managed to scare her off. He loved her in every way that was possible.
Katara had spoken to him some days prior to the banquet, and he supposed that this had been the catalyst for his actions the night before and his admission that morning. She’d said that it was one thing to find your love in someone, but it was another to find it in your dearest friend. And that had gotten him thinking and believing that he had found his love in his dearest friend.
Anxiously, he waited for Toph to give him a response and for the longest time, she remained silent, studying his pulse. After a bit of a while, she cuddled right back into his side and quietly said, “Ditto.”
Sokka half expected that Toph would stand up, laugh in his face, and leave his apartment without looking back. He expected her to think he was kidding or otherwise being friendly. He never expected her to actually respond the way she did.
‘Ditto’ was the best he was going to get. And he was happy with it. Because he really did love her.
So he did what he knew best and kissed the small smile off her lips.
Hello dear friend, I know I already asked about what Suki's reaction was but how did the rest if the gaang react to Toph and Sokka dating?
Hello hello, bud! Love seeing you in my inbox :D
I've written about this in a fic before hehe, so I have definitely thought about this!
To make this response short, I don't think anyone in the Gaang would be surprised about the relationship happening at some point. But I do think that they'd be surprised about when it happened and when Toph and Sokka finally decide to confront their feelings for each other.
Katara would be the first to notice that there are more-than-friendship vibes there. And she'd be the one to point them out to Aang and Zuko. So it wouldn't be surprising to them at all, I think. At first, maybe Aang specifically would be like "what?! them two?! no, never!" but would most definitely become more attentive and start opening his eyes lol. As for Zuko, he would be indifferent to it, as long as they're both happy, which he realizes they are and that's something that settles him.
If Toph and Sokka got together and didn't tell anyone about it, I'm sure Katara would be butthurt about it because they should have told her, in her opinion, of course. She's been rooting for them this whole time and they had the audacity to keep it from her? Incredible. LOL
In short, they'd all be happy about it because it was about damn time haha.

I honestly can't remember which ask I've sent you already, but here comes another one. What do Toph and Sokka do if one of them gets sick?
Hi hi!
This is so important wowow. I actually wrote a fic for Tokka Week about Sokka coming over to check in on Toph while she's sick haha, so I'll just use that as a bit of a reference for my hcs :D
So if Toph gets sick, I can see Sokka going out of his way to help her feel better. I happen to think that Toph is just the worst kind of patient because it isn't often she gets sick, so when she does, it just feels like the end of the world. It debilitates her to no end and it's the only time she's ever not doing something work-related, yk? But he tries to get some food in her, maybe some broth. Just something warm in her system.
She would be so annoyed by the fact that he's trying to make her eat, though, because she'd probably feel so sick that she just doesn't want to deal with the consequences of what might come from it lol. He'd also bring her medicine and have to practically force it down her throat, but he coerces her to take it because the idea of feeling better wins over.
I also see a lot of cuddling and nursing haha. Like, Toph would also probably start feeling better, but she enjoys Sokka's closeness a little too much, so she.... delays her recovery in a way. Whenever he asks if she's feeling better, she's like "ahh, yeah? but don't move, I might need another cool compress on my head soon."
If Sokka's sick, Toph would just visit him and tell him to quit his whining because it never did anyone any good. She'd also very likely tell him that she doesn't want his germs on her, but she'd still do her best to help nurse him back to health. Her heart drops a little every time she hears him cough or whenever she checks for a fever – which she does every five minutes, at least. All she wants is for him to feel better. He's so tired and weak that she can't stand to experience him this way.
And when she's about to leave him be for the night, he just grabs her wrist and asks her to stay and she's so close to just saying no because she shouldn't, right? The cold is probably making him delirious, but she nods and sits back down, and lets him lay on her lap while she gives him little headscratches.
For both of them, if they're established as a couple, the fluff and the comfort are at an overload haha. Just take the cuddling I mentioned earlier and dial it up. There'd be less restraint in how they act toward each other, so it'd just be cute and fluffy and sniffly lol

Hello dearest friend, do you think Sokka's death had anything to do with Toph's search for enlightenment?
Hello hello!
Interesting question lol. Maybe it did have something to do with it; maybe his death served as a last straw. She needed to get out of Republic City, of the place she could connect him to, I suppose. Toph probably didn’t want to have to deal with any more grief or pain or anything of the sort and she just ended up running away from it.
I don’t really love the whole searching-for-enlightenment bit in the plot. It just seems out of character to me in a way, you know? But in terms of your question, I do think it makes sense that she’d up and leave when Sokka died just because she didn’t want to force herself to cope with his loss.

Hi yah pal, back with another question. What do you think happened to suki? And is she alright with Toph dating Sokka?
Hello, hello!
I've thought about this a lot and I disagree with a lot of what people put out there when it comes to Suki and Tokka, or just Suki in general in the eyes of Tokka shippers.
I happen to think that Suki was alright with Toph and Sokka's relationship. I like the idea of Sukka growing up and growing apart and realizing that they're just no longer compatible, but still share love for each other.
I don't like seeing Suki be villainized or be the bad guy in Tokka fics, though – I don't find it to be realistic. This is not to say that I haven't enjoyed fics in which this is the premise, but I just wouldn't do it in my own work.
The same goes for her dying in order for Sokka and Toph to be together. I agree that it makes the story tragic, but Sokka wouldn't be one to move on from Suki like that and make a move on Toph right away.
But I love love love that first bit I mentioned – Sukka growing apart in terms of their romantic relationship and them just shifting into a friendship. I happen to feel that Suki is the one to help Sokka kind of navigate how he feels about Toph without being in his face about it like, say, Katara would lol. She'd be like "well, you do seem kind of into her."
So, in short, yes, I do think that Suki would be okay with Toph and Sokka dating. She'd be one of their biggest supporters and because she knows Sokka so well, she'd be able to help him make less of a mess of his feelings for her.

Once more I return with a question, do Toph and Sokka do anything for the holidays? That is if they even have a holiday like Christmas in their world.
Hello!
I decided to go ahead and get this one done considering Christmas is in, like, two days lol
This is a great question, oooh. I'm thinking more of a modern setting, alternate universe type of thing rather than their own world because they’re not Christian so let's see!
I think Sokka would want to go all out of Christmas decorations and activities and Toph would be the one to just go with it because she wants him to be happy lol. Doesn't mean she won't make fun of him or bully him for it, though. There's a lot of that.
And he constantly asks for her opinion on what color scheme to use, blue and silver, red and silver, red and gold, and she'd just deadpan and say "you...want to try asking me that again with more feeling?" and it ofc takes a minute to register. And he goes "I'm going to go ask Katara."
He also tries to talk her into watching movies with him, and she does so just to placate him, but then she discovers The nightmare Before Christmas and it's over for them. That's their Christmas movie and no one can judge them for it. It's their thing!
I can definitely picture Katara questioning them about their choice of Christmas movie, and Toph just goes "it has Christmas in the title, okay?" And she just drops it because how can she argue with that logic or she just doesn't have the energy to argue with the two of them
I also know for sure that he dragged Toph outside when it snowed. She hates the cold and would much rather stay inside during the holiday, but he kept challenging her to a snowball fight and she just couldn't decline
They'd also make cookies and other baked goods together. Toph would just sit and listen to him hum, feeling him all excited to not have burned the cookies that were just in the oven and what not lol
OH OH and Sokka loves Christmas music, especially the jazzy, big band numbers, so he plays them all the time. And he pulls a reluctant Toph up into his arms and dances with her. Just sways with her as "White Christmas" play in the background, his face in her hair and her head on his chest
But all in all, I think they would stay inside and lounge around, have a lazy day in, open gifts to and from each other, eat, watch and listen to movies.... being all cute and shit :))

That's all I've got for you, friend! I hope these are enough to keep your Tokka heart content :D
