I've been working on this piece since March (assuming from the WIP I sent you a while back lol) since I didn't want to miss giving you a gift this time (last year I never ended finishing my other piece and felt bad not giving you anything/gen). I had a lot of fun with this one and hope you like it just as much! While I was drawing, I've also written something along with it. It was supposed to be just a small note but ended up being a big letter, lol. So, I hope you'll bear with me through this one:

To Vanuh,

I know I've said this before in the past, but I really want you to know you've been a huge inspiration to me and a positive light online for the past couple years. Back when I first discovered your blog, I've stopped drawing altogether after a fallout with a friend and haven't felt the want to draw in a very long while. Even if it was unintentional and unknowingly, you've brought me out of that hole and gave me motivation to do art again. I don't know how else to express my gratitude and my admiration for you; not only as an artist, but also as a person. Despite what you may say about yourself, you've always seen kind to us and been real, and what I mean by that, even through the small rambles you post–including in the tags–you seem to never be too afraid to speak your mind on certain topics that you want to voice out (ex: AI art, specific creators, small parts about yourself and life, etc). I don't write this to say that I know you like that, but from the perspective of a follower and your doodles and rants, you've become a person I look up to on the internet and as an artist I aspire to be like. Though we not be mutuals, I hope to interact with you more in the future, and maybe get to know you as well (that is if you're comfortable, of course. No pressure/gen). And I say this with the upmost sincerity: Thank you, Vanuh. For being a beacon of light in this world to us (and a wonderful artist, obviously). Thank you for being my inspiration. And thank you for just being, well, you. Just keep being yourself as I know (and others will agree) you're a beautiful person (and I mean that as in your Soul. Pun intended/j). Well, I hope this wasn't too long, but I meant every word I wrote. Truly. Happy 20th Birthday, Vanuh, and may today be full of whimsy and your following days be blessed.

My Brother Dear (A poem)

Okay, so school is now over, yippee! Now, all I gotta do is wait for summer school. But in the meantime, why not take a little thing I did for my English final. It's a little poem I wrote, and I think it turned out nice. A video goes along with it, but eheh, not sharing my irl voice online, sorry :3

But, I hope you guys like what I wrote either way, it's meant as an ode to my brother/best-friend. If you don't like it, that's also okay! Just thought I might share something a little different, y'know?

Life. It's quite strange, is it not?

Especially with people, some will let you thrive,

And your enemies, will leave you to rot.

And those who are true, are never easy to find.

Despite these setbacks, I've always had you.

Meeting amongst the water, only years one and two.

Five little steps away, living door to door,

It's the best wish a child, a friend, could ever wish for.

We called ourselves best friends,

Others said like siblings.

Siblings. I like that word a lot, don't you?

I guess for us it's quite fitting, I hope you also feel it too.

Together since the beginning, now only a memory away.

You're still here, I know, but it still seems like yesterday

We'd be laughing until we cried, talking till we fought,

Eventually, we'd reconcile. Side by side in slumber, the day now only a mere thought.

The day you had gone away, something in me broke.

"This is all just a dream, right?" Begging as I choked.

Now in the present, even in absence, I still feel you near.

My friend, if you also ever feel alone, know you're still my brother dear.

There may be times you may not want to believe it,

But you are one among billion that's unable to be replaced.

Not only as a friend or brother, but a nephew and one's kit.

Truly, you're special enough to not go to waste.

Every time you ring me a call, it's as if I hear your knock on the door.

Each answering with joyous vigor, the results never a bore.

Almost 3,000 miles away, we'll forever remain oh so close

Because out of the many fish in the sea, it was each other that we chose.

With each year that passes by, I know you've grown up so much.

Our lives and routines now so different, but never staying out of touch.

And trust me when I say, if the world was about to end,

I'd choose you every time, because little brother, you're my best friend.
