#Repost @velosmith ・・・ Dirty Kanza is a tough event. Period. Over the past few days, the social medias are full of riders posting finishing photos. What’s not evident in these photos are the countless, dark, cold and lonely training hours. In the supporting role are the machines of Kanza. Each bike is as unique as their rider and the training programs to arrive at the finish line. In an eventual post to our blog we will dive into seven bikes that survived #dk200. What worked, what didn’t, what the riders wouldn’t change and what they would. This Seven Evergreen SL belongs to LG. So far this season this bike has conquered Haleakala in Maui, Landrun100, Barry Roubiax and now DK200. The S&S couplers make the bike easy to break down and be packed in a standard 26”x12”x12” case allowing it to slip by oversized luggage fees and the need for an oversized rental car at arrivals. SRAM eTap allows for simplicity in packing with the elimination of wires or cables for shifting and provides ample gearing for huge adventuring. Titanium makes the frame tough as nails and nearly impervious to travel, gravel and abuse. Repost from @allisonzmuda This all started back in November. We agreed to sign up and race Dirty Kanza on single speeds. The SS Ladies category didn't exist yet, some of us had not ridden gravel before, a lot of us had not ridden any sort of long distance, most of us didn't even have a proper SS bike yet. But we signed up anyway. We trained, hung out, planned, raised money to help support our support crew, and raced many other races to prepare for what we were about to take on. DK 200 = 11 SS Ladies started, and 11 SS Ladies finished. 100% finishing rate. Every single one of us crossed that finish line. We all crushed it! Feels good to be back in Kansas. One of our #dk200 bikes this year is a custom painted #traildonkey 2.0. We just grabbed these photos out on what will be tomorrow's race course which looks beautiful! Cheers to @spray.bike for making creative expression easier and @squidbikes for the assist. 🍻

Adam from @slohibikeco had the other custom painted #traildonkey at #dk200. He had a clean, fast 207 miles and finished smiling. Adam got a last minute DK entry and didn't have a rig ready to go so we took the opportunity to practice our paint skills for his build.
