It’s Lai-hoe Again could I get a request for a friend of a Kanato holding teddy 🧸💜

Ayo here is Kanato uwu. hope your friend likes it! Despite his questionable personality, I do really enjoy drawing him a lot. Out of all the diaboy I think he has the most distinct and unique features that make it easy yet interesting for me to draw. Very good to capture the mood? with as he has such a special vibe hehe... plus it was a stressful week so kinda nice to vent art through drawing him too (i feel u Kanato... sadge man sadge)

♡ despite what he might say, he loves spending time with you.

♡ he's got some deep ass trust & abandonment issues, so you better be careful. REALLY careful.

♡ deep down, he's just a very troubled person... you must have patience. He will constantly tell you how "evil" and "twisted" he is (and so will his siblings), but that's not true at all. That's just what they made him think. After all those years of trauma, he needs a façade to protect himself from getting hurt again, so he tries to be as cold as possible... but, in reality, he just wants to be loved. </3

♡ he's actually really sweet once he starts trusting you, but he needs time for that.

♡ he loves sleeping next to you, mainly because he gets nightmares pretty much every single night, and you're the only thing that avoids them. But never forget, Teddy must be there too.

♡ he experiences depressive and manic episodes basically every day, so expect mood swings. Helping him through them isn't easy at all and he often gets agressive, treat him with lots of kindness. It's not his fault, he can't control his own emotions.

♡ if there's one thing Kanato enjoys, it's baking with you. You two spend hours baking cookies, pies, cakes, pancakes... basically, anything sweet. If he's feeling nicer than usual, he'll let you have a taste and you'll eat them together. He always looks so happy when he's eating.

♡ you probably already know this, but he loves singing and he's amazing at it. So, in case you also enjoy singing, he'll ask you to join him, and your voices will blend together in a beautiful harmony. If you're not that good at it, he'll let you listen to him if you promise you'll behave. He doesn't let anyone else hear his (gorgeous) voice, so you should feel lucky as hell.

♡ he loves dressing you up, doing your makeup, styling your hair... but you always end up looking like a doll.

♡ he will occasionally let you do HIS makeup, but he has to be in a good mood, a very good mood.

♡ his favorite color is pink (yeah, it's canonically not purple. Surpise!), so if you're planning on gifting him something, make sure it's pink. He'll like it twice as much.

♡ he's reaaaaally clingy, but it takes him a long time to trust you, like I said before. Once you break through his walls, he'll be kissing, hugging and caressing you all day long. He'll also bite you a lot, but well... I guess you can't help it.

♡  when it comes to naughty time, he's... well... he's not that shy. At all. But I'll let you think about it on you own (and maybe write a different post about it ;)).

♡ he doesn't like petnames too much, so he'll just call you by your name. At least he doesn't call you "bitch", so be thankful.

♡ however, he's a natural degrader. Sorry. He just can't help it, he loves insulting you in various ways (but he always sounds fancy).

♡ he uses a gentle tone when he's talking to you, and it's actually adorable. He's usually way rougher when he's with his siblings. Well, he's not that gentle when he's mad... but that's a whole different story.

♡ don't even think about making him jealous. Seriously, don't. You won't make it out alive.

♡ overall, all you need is LOTS of patience and empathy. He needs constant reassurement and affection, but it'll be worth it. Having Kanato as your lover means having someone you can always rely on, someone who will fight for (and with) you, someone who'll take care of you in his own way, someone who'll protect you from others, someone who'll be madly in love with you unconditionally. As you can see, not everything's so bad.

Kanato's Teddy 3D model

As the sequel to Subaru's dagger, I made a more finished piece. It's Kanato's Teddy! This time UV mapped it and texture painted as well to get similar texture and stitching seams like the original art!

UV mapping and shading process in Blender. (slapped in Kanato's room image for the background real quick lel) haven’t rigged it tho

had a lot of fun doing this and I think I will continue on by creating other dl objects, props, and their rooms in 3D, and maybe even other otome games as well! Comment to be tagged in future posts of this series!

I started watching DL gameplay (not yet Kanato’s route; just finished Laito’s), but man Yui’s personality is damn great in the game (sucks what happened in the anime; as far as I can remember.. been a long time)

Laito is such a good manipulator, interesting character but I can’t forget him and uh Cordelia.. 🛐
