something i wrote somewhen in 2019

i wasn't really convinced in posting it, so i took a break and decide later, but ended up forgetting for..... it's may 2021 now

"Deceit?"

He immediatly stopped, heart racing fast in his chest. His hands were still covering his eyes

"Are you crying?" the voice was worried, apparently

He didn't even bother drying off his tears, or getting up, when he raises his head

The three sides are ~all~ there and the lights have been turned on

Lie? Avoid the question?

...

Tell the truth?

They kept staring at him until Morality picked up Deceit's hat from the floor, who he just then noticed had fell off, and, kneeling in front of the dark side, put it back on his head

"What..." the dad figure started, doubting if asking, but continued with a soft smile, "What is wrong, kiddo?"

Deceit would never admit it, but he suddently had the urge to just jump in one of his famous hugs and sob in that embrace, but refrained himself from doing so

He noticed Anxiety and Logic were still watching surprised

He's going to regret this

"I..."

I miss him! Just say it!

But then Virgil was- Anxiety was staring at him with a cautious and angry gaze

"I'm..."

Deceit's face changed completely in a dark one as he stood up

"I'm leaving", his voice has never sounded so serious

While Pa- Morality processed what was happening, the other one was already walking away

The heart side looked at the other two for suggestions

All of a sudden Logic spoke up, "His room is gone"

Deceit stopped on his steps

Tears, again? Seriously?

"Deceit"

Steps

"Hey..."

Slow steps now

Denying it didn't mean it was true. He knew they could see him crying even if he was turned against them

Since it was hard for him to tell the truth, he would just show them

He turned to the light sides again, didn't expect to find Patton so close to him, though

Wait, no, what was he going to-

...

"You miss him too, don't you?" Morality said with a sweet calming tone, hugging the liar

It was so hard trying not to tear up yet again

Logic came, "Feelings are not a burden"

"I...I don't know what you're talking about!", though his hiccups were betraying him

"You don't have to deceive to us. Haha...", Morality tried to brighten the mood a little

"I c- ", a hiccup, "I can't just- ", another one, "I can't just stop being Deceit, c- can I? Heh"

Not even himself laughed at that

Patton tightened the hug. He wanted to make Deceit feel better, but now he was crying too

Deceit wasn't hugging back, but he let himself cry freely, comforted by the fact that... that Roman was actually loved

And he had amazing friends, too
