I enjoy Rogue Trader a lot so far, it's a great game with a very interesting world, but did anyone tell the devs they don't have to include "romance" if they aren't in the mood? 🤔 Tyranny worked perfectly well without romance. And to see the romance writing gap between RT and Wotr, well, it surprised me, to say the least.

I get it, I get it, appealing to the cishets is important to sell games or something. But having 3 pushy women who urgently, and very clumsily-written, want to start something with my male yet gay main character, but not a single main game option to romance for said male gay character (yes, I refuse to count the one that makes no logical sense to recruit for almost any RT at all, I had to read some spoilers) is a tiny bit sus. Just saying. Not something I expected from Owlcat. I'd be jelly of the players with more options, but nah, tbh, I was curious and clicked through the flirt options anyway and then through the ones of the male romance via toybox before reloading. (Toyboxing romances is not my cup of tea, sadly, it always seems off to me.) And the flirting you can do feels so ... awkward and clumsy and impersonal and rushed, even if you go with the gender restrictions. Very strange, thinking of how well-done all the Wotr romances are and how almost all of them start in ways that make sense. The last time I had a romance encounter pushed that awkwardly was in Mass Effect 1, apparently an inspiration for RT in more ways than one. 😂 Anyway, I'm having fun, don't worry.

(A cambion's anatomy can be quite a fascinating topic. Haarlep is willing to show a few specifics about their reproductive organs on a slightly displeased test subject. Of course, you are eager to learn, aren't you?)

2. “A Deal Worth Taking” (Baldur’s Gate) – 370 kudos

(A short while after the game Raphael makes another quite explicit deal with his favorite client. And comes to regret it. Or does he?)

I always respond, because comments make me all excited and happy. Even the smallest bring a smile to my face and the longer ones encourage me to talk a bit about my thoughts, if the commenter is interested. :3

Let me thinkkk … “A Fiend's Folly”, probably. Or well, atm “Below” (Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous), because it’s a very angsty story and it still lacks the last chapters that might make it less so. 😂

7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

“Mistakes we make” (Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous)

(An added scene a while after not-a-date during act III, not directly tied to an in-game event, but a lot to Daeran’s aversion against demons and my knight commander’s prideful conviction to be able to negotiate with anyone he encounters.)

It’s hurt/comfort and writing it made me all cozy and warm.

8. Do you get hate on fics?

Surprisingly not. I expected some petty attacks when stepping into the Hazbin Hotel fandom with my views on Alastor (people are crazy about him and about wanting to be right with their interpretation), but luckily everyone only was sweet in comments on my fics. :3

9. Do you write smut?

Passionately so. Kinky stuff, rarely vanilla. It’s the thing I can always write easily, even when exhausted.

10. Do you write crossovers?

Not in fanfiction form, but I think about crossovers occasionally or discuss them.

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

If so, I do not know.

12. Have you ever had a fic translated?

My very first fanfictions (when I was a teen), I wrote in German. And tried to translate some, but never got far. Later I switched to writing fanfiction in English right away.

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?

Small things with friends, occasionally. With you @dujour13. :3 And with classmates back in school.

@tentiebear and I did this year’s owlcatober project together, a Raphael/Haarlep/Dark Urge story a while ago, and plan a Hazbin Hotel longfic I'm excited for! 👀❤️

14. What's your favorite all-time ship?

The OC ships I have with my boys. :3

For Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous: Salvadore/Daeran will always be dear to my heart.

I love the complicated challenge that is the relationship of my Dark Urge Cian, Raphael, and Haarlep (Baldur's Gate 3).

And then there is Vox/Alastor (Hazbin Hotel), a ship that drives me crazy in the best of ways and never fails to inspire me in its toxic, messy, intriguing complexity.

15. What's the WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

I actually am determined to finish mostly all of WIP stories I have going on. I probably won’t add chapters to “Bird of Passage” (Baldur’s Gate), but this was just a small thing to collect thoughts anyway.

I have to change my plan for “Since Our Last Goodbye” (Hazbin Hotel), a bit, after season 2, despite it being canon-divergent. But I’m highly inspired to continue the story.

16. Are there recurring themes you've noticed in your writing?

I’m a sucker for hurt/comfort, yearning, powerplay (non-sexual too), complicated relationships with a deep connection behind, hell and devils and deals, characters being smart and one step ahead at all times, and/or full of themselves, and then seeing them struggle. And all of this shows in my faves and in my writing, I think. 😂

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

Writing is my strongest passion, and I’m perfectionistic about it and stand in my own way with the thought that every sentence I produce has to be good.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?

I don’t feel confident enough in any other language but German and English. Spanish I’d attempt (and did), because I can ask my boyfriend, hehe.

20. Favorite fic you've ever written?

Oh, a hard one … “Devil May Care” is dear to me for personal reasons. But rn the Hazbin obsession goes strong and I’m horribly proud of “Since Our Last Goodbye”.

For anyone struggling to keep going rn: Sometimes it helps to focus on the next enjoyable thing ahead, even if small. A cup of hot chocolate, another little treat, the series you want to continue, the book you were looking forward to.

The Raphael fandom on tumblr is mostly very chill, and I'm intensely grateful for that. Still, every once in a while I see one of the "Raphael is like this or that in bed and everyone else is wrong" comments appear and that's a bit tiring. Honestly, what is Haarlep supposed to say to that question? - Haarlep of all people? I mean, it really doesn't matter how Raph is in bed for the answer to be laughing and a "No", everything else would be out of character for Haarlep. If he was the best they ever had (probably not, but that's not the point) they wouldn't admit it. Why should they? I don't think Haarlep, gift of Mephistopheles and a potential spy, trapped there with Raph and probably not the most happy incubus in the world, is especially interested in praising Raph's abilities. And I don't mean this in the "Haarlep definitely lies there" way, I'm saying it's a possibility that it's not true, it's also a possibility that it is. If it is, "not good in bed" can mean tons of things. Coming too fast, like Tav/Durge can guess (but it's only this, a guess), or being selfish or being lazy or being disinterested, or just not as good as an actual sex demon. Also, Raphael fucks his incubus and makes them look like him. It's like masturbation, why would he give a damn if his masturbation toy enjoys it? Even if there is/was more between them at certain points, they're stuck with each other for a while now, probably bored. That Raphael only ever bottomed for Haarlep is a completely independent statement in no correlation with his abilities in bed. It, furthermore, could also be either true or a lie, "speak with dead" doesn't force the corpse to be honest. Nonetheless, it at least is likely to be true. Still, it doesn't tell a thing about Raphael's habits of being a top or bottom with anyone who is not Haarlep. Long rambling short: Please just let people imagine what they want, the game doesn't truly give anything that restricts us in this regard. Haarlep having a point and Raphael being selfish in bed and therefore not a good lover? Amazing, go for it. Raphael being selfish with Haarlep but actually a great lover the moment he is interested in someone and/or wants to show off? Beautiful, love that. Raphael needing some exercise with someone who isn't his incubus after too much time he had no interest in other partners? Great and fun! Raphael being a pillow princess always and kind of lazy in bed? Wonderful, tell me more. Raphael being actually quite dominant when he's not with his incubus? Or a switch who enjoys both? Wonderful! I like it! Raphael not giving Haarlep any information about who he is interested in and how he likes to fuck because his dad sent them? And therefore went for this little degrading game where Haarlep looks like him and always does all the work instead? Well yeah, that's my personal headcanon, don't mind me. Long rambling short: No reason at all to be so insistent about this headcanon or that or to comment how wrong someone's headcanon is, just let people live and imagine and enjoy. 🙏❤️

I thought about how I fell in love with Raphael the moment he opened his mouth for the very first time but I feel that for some he was an acquired taste. Sooo, Raphael Nation, I'm curious:

When/how did your love for our devil start?

I was Iost right when he appeared, reciting children's poems, all sinister bard.

It was his cambion form he got me with, horns and claws, wings and burning eyes.

His theatrics during act 2 were irresistible.

I needed to visit his house and learn more about him to find myself captivated.

Tragically, I fell for him during the battle when he sang his own villain song.

It just hit me along the way, I can't tell what moment caused it / all of them.

The Haarlep scene; the incubus got to me first but they are a double deal to me.

His fandom and the art/stories caused my love for him.

I needed a second (or third, etc.) playthrough before it came to my obsession.

I want to study Raphael fans like a bug, just show me the results.
