This is my meme for dmf project 1, which resulted in van Eyck's Man in a red Turban wearing Carmen Miranda's headpiece and subsequently losing some of the fruit. I would remove the stars from the image if I could redo it.

YAY!! - a little slow, but still YAY!!
This is my final meme/art appropriation. I chose to use the art installation/sculpture by Michelangelo Pistoletto, Venus of the Rags, which is currently housed in the Tate in London.
I first caught my eye whilst flicking through a book, looking for possible images to appropriate. I thought there were a number of things that could be done with it, but most of my ideas were beyond me. I had initially wanted the pile of clothes to gradually disappear, and for Venus to turn around (I don't really know why this was what I wanted), but on realising it was beyond my ability to work out how to do that by myself, I came up with the idea above.
It turns out the big pile of clothing was really crying out for a bunch of (admittedly giant) flies. It's not sophisticated, but I think it is effective in it's way.
I made this meme using gifmaker.me, which I found after trying all of the suggested sites to be the simplest, because you can change the size of the images very easliy if they're not perfect first time. It ended up being 15 frames, 360 x 282 pixels, 1.31mb.
If I was to make another art appropriation meme, I think I might make something more impressive, but maybe with less frames. This was very time consuming, hand(mouse)-painting all of the flies.
I did have a lot of trouble uploading the image/s to tumblr, but that was because I hadn't reduced the size enough, and I solved that issue.
testing ......again
Having some issues here too.
FINAL meme gif thinggy
The first thing that came to mind when looking at this contemplative/ deep in thought angel...PIE!! I don't know why I thought of pie one of the mysteries to my mind. Any who this is my final Meme Gif thinggy-ma-bob and I'd have to say I'm happy with the outcomes :D
Appropriation Meme!! Jeffery Smart
Finished!! a little simple but I like adding a bit of colour to some of Jeffery Smarts dark urban scenes!
Project 1: conclusion
Text Portrait
Until staring this course I didn't know that Photoshop had the ability to make animations (never looking in the window tool bar) getting a grasp of making new frames and the use of tweens to making animation more smooth it showed that arranging pictures & text is easy.
After going through all the words relating to me I came up with two, Ink and Nick. I didn't realize up til this point that both words almost had all the letters in my name making them the best words to play with.
The best part of this part of the GIF project was since I was going to animate everything it gave me the chance to draw up countless story boards to broaden my ideas, this making using Photoshop easier and quick to figure out what I wanted to do.
There were particular effects that I wanted to achieve but was concern that I would make it more difficult for myself with my idea, remembering that I was using Photoshop I realized that I still required the use of layers and I can turn them off when not on use. This furthering the endless possibilities (this require some more story boarding to figure out what layers I did not need on what frames)
Meme
Since I spent a lot of time on making my first GIF I had to quickly come up with a meme, as I had a passing knowledge of Francis Bacon I made it quick and easy on choosing an artist. The next step was how to use it, this was made easier knowing that there was on image that my chosen artist he did his own take on Pope Innocence X Diego Velázquez with a more disturbing approach to it.
The guideline was not to use Photoshop for generating our meme apart from preparing it, so I used a lot JPGs’ to complete my meme ready to up load.
When using Giffninja.com I found it pretty strait forward to upload like other site revolving around pictures (like tumblr) the only difference that it has a habit of arranging images in the wrong order (not sure if everyone had this issue but me) but was not too much of a hassle using my JPGs’ as reference and rearranging into the correct order. Uploading was different to tumblr since the GIF was in HTML format which tumblr had a function that was easy to use to post through the text function.
