How many of us had a really pleasant experience when calling a customer service? I bet almost all of us will say NO to this.
Usually we are being greet by this automated (robot like) voice reciting the menus. But a few years ago, Norway’s DNB Bank had done a really remarkable take on this.
On December 2011, DNB Bank wanted to leverage their sponsorship for the famous Norwegian Broadcasting Boys Choir. With the help of their creative agency, Try/Apt, they chosen a very unusual media choice and ended up giving charm to one of the most charmless "touch points" of any companies, its automated customer service.
For the month of December 2011, when we called DNB Bank to check on our balance accounts, instead of the usual bot reciting the menus, we will be greeted with the beautiful voices of the boys from Norwegian Broadcasting Boys Choir singing every menus of the DNB tele banking services. No wonder the campaign was being called, "Merry Paycheck" :)
