I NEED all of you to watch this. Listen to her words.
The level of respect I have for this woman is astounding.
Y’all, Julia Louis-Dreyfus is hilarious.
“Joe Biden goes to church regularly... and he doesn’t even need tear gas or federalized troops to get there!” (DNC2020 Night 4)
Milwaukee — In the early evening of Aug. 20, around 500 people gathered in Dontre Hamilton (officially Red Arrow) Park in downtown Milwaukee to mark the final day of the Democratic National Convention. The turnout in spite of the pandemic and the vastly diminished physical presence in the city for the convention was a testament to the hard work and dedication of the organizers with the Coalition to March on the DNC.
“No matter who anybody votes for, no matter who wins, we’re always going to be out in the streets. We’re always going to be fighting for justice,” said Omar Flores, an organizer with the Milwaukee Alliance Against Racist & Political Repression and a leader in the coalition.
I honestly feel ill.
But I’m still gonna vote
The democratic convention’s first day just ended with Michelle Obama’s incredible speech.
As usual she killed it, of course, and made a heartfelt appeal to Go Out and Vote. (Which really you fucking should, God, Americans dont pull another 2016. With the shit with the USPS, please go find out where/how to vote)
But there was a moment where called Trump inadequate to lead with words that will echo throughout the campaign:
‘Donald Trump is the wrong president for our country. He has had more than enough time to prove that he can do the job, but he is clearly in over his head. He cannot meet this moment. He simply cannot be who we need him to be for us. It is what it is.’
It is what it is.
“It is what it is.” Those words are forever attached to the tragedy that is the Trump response to the COVID crisis as he dismissed the deaths of thousands of people yet again.
“It is what it is.” Has the power, pain, and rage of a 170,000 dead people and their families and many more to come.
“It is what it is.” Damn right, damn fucking right.
I'm really liking all of these "I'm a Republican, BUT..." speeches.
Could have avoided this whole thing by not supporting the party of intrinsically selfish policies in the first place.
