Yes, you read that right. The small, creepy-crawly beasts your players usually squash without a second thought?

They're big now. And they're hungry.

These oversized horrors are ready to scuttle, crawl, and chomp their way through your next encounter. Throw them into your dungeon, forest, or plague-ridden village and watch your players squirm.

Brehms Tierleben

Thanks to the beautiful illustrations from Brehms Tierleben, the classic zoological work by Alfred Brehm, we had access to an extraordinary collection of public domain images featuring flies, beetles, bugs, bees, and more. A heartfelt thank you to Brehm and his many illustrators, their work is truly remarkable!

Note on Animal Sizes

Size is a crucial factor and is fully incorporated into the stat blocks design. Large insects behave differently than smaller ones because they can hide less for example. We imagined the following sizes and used them in the title of the monster.

Small / Great insects are imagined to be about the size of a small dog, roughly 30+ centimeters (around 12 inches). Picture a huge fly the size of a pan crawling over your body.

Medium-sized / Massive creatures are imagined to be the size of a small human, between 1 to 2 meters tall. For example, a hornet the size of a person, with a sting as large as a dagger.

Large / Giant insects are as big as a horse or a car. Imagine a massive bumblebee sitting on you, crushing you with its weight.

Huge / Colossal insects are as big as a house.

Gargantuan / Titanic insects are larger than a house. Gargantuan has no limit and monster can be as big as a mountain.

Monster Manifest

Like previously the Bandits, these monster are designed based on the MonsterManifest. The concept is quite long so you can find a quick overview on page 3 in the images on the left side.
