okay im finally FINALLY gonna do an official teens gender hcs post so u guys can understand my view of these weird little guys. spoilers theyre all nonbinary bc im nonbinary and i love them

normal: he/him but open to trying other pronouns (hes too afraid to ask though). wishes he could just be a binary trans dude (bc that would be easier for him) but in actuality has no idea what his gender really is and the thought of putting a label on it stresses him out so whenever he gets asked about his gender hes just sweating nervously like "aaahhh idk man im just a teen idk haha" (hes like dood. just. teengender)

scary: she/they/goth/dark/etc. transfem girlflux so sometimes shes very girl and other times shes very not girl. this is part of why she says shes not like other girls

lincoln: he/him. bigender. a boy who is a girl sometimes (but tries not to think about it too hard)

taylor: he/ze/sword/flame/etc (neopronoun hoarder like scary but nobody can remember all of them). transmasc demiboy but also a xenogender hoarder (likes to coin his own xenogenders)

hermie: pronouns of the character theyre playing but otherwise they/them. genderfraud (aka "genderfluid but in a fake way"). finds it easier to "play" a gender than to address the fact that they dont have one of their own

❤️‍🔥 romantic hc: hermie fantasizes more often than theyd like to admit about being carried bridal style. at first they think their fascination w the pose is bc they wish to be able to lift someone like that onstage, thinking that being able to literally sweep someone off their feet would make for a wonderfully romantic scene in a play. they ask for help learning how to do it from normal one day (only bc they know hes on the cheer team and can easily lift people, no other reason), but after hermie tries and fails to lift a costume mannequin that isnt even that heavy, normals just like "ur being too awkward w it!! u gotta do it like this!!" and lifts hermie up effortlessly and hermies just like. oh 😳. hermie from then on is like "uhhhh well now u gotta keep teaching me" even though they know theyre probably just not strong enough to learn how to do it but it leads to them practicing how to do that and then normal ends up showing them other tricks and stuff and hermie tries to teach him stuff too and it basically leads to them learning to dance and stuff together and hermie slowly realizes oh they just really like being held. by normal. WHY DID I JUST END UP WRITING AN ENTIRE OAKWORTHY FIC PLOT WHAT fellow writers get on this ‼️ (bc i have too many other projects to do)

🧸 childhood hc: hermie discovered their love for dc when they decided to ditch class one day back in sixth grade. they were like "hehe im so sneaky and dastardly for not doing as i was told" but really all they did was sneak to the school library. but they were like "im not gonna read regular boring books.... im gonna read the books w PICTURES" and then picked up a batman comic randomly. at first they were just happy about the fact that they were breaking a rule but then as they read they realized they were actually getting really invested in the comic. becoming particularly fascinated w the villains. they ended up coming back to the library during lunch every day and just eating lunch in there (since they didnt have anyone to sit w anyway) and reading batman comics. if they werent able to finish one during lunch then they would just smuggle it in their backpack and take it home w them. they realized they actually liked reading them at home better though bc then they could pace around their room dramatically reading aloud. they never ended up taking them back either so their entire comic collection at home is just stolen books (their parents tried to buy them some of their own to try to discourage their theft but they threw them away bc "those ones dont count")

hero hcs bc she deserves some rad facts of her own

- heros fave original anime (as in not a disney remake) is saiki k. she relates to saiki bc she too wishes to be an ordinary person w/o any special powers or destiny. saiki was also her trans awakening bc during middle school she read the manga and when saiki was able to just decide to switch genders she was like "why dont i just do that??"

- hero barely gets acne. shes actually been blessed w pretty good skin. but as soon as normal started getting acne, she subconsciously started developing a skin picking disorder out of anxiety thats left her skin looking just as bad as his (however she gets worried whenever normal takes too long in the bathroom and always tries to stop him whenever he starts to pick at his own skin)

- hero met erica and margarita through taylor and decided to introduce them to anime during the two months where margaritas dad was too busy watching anime w taylors friends so she could spite him. turns out she really really likes both these girls now. and they really really like anime (and hero too) now

- hero loves to accessorize. she particularly loves to collect hairclips and chewelry necklaces. shes also the one who taught normal how to make kandi

- hero is a decent driver but an awful parker. u can always tell which car is hers bc it will be super embarrassingly crooked. normal usually has to really squeeze in between cars when he gets out from the passenger seat

- hero is a big fan of funny novelty t-shirts. whenever shes not wearing something fandom specific u can bet that shell be wearing a shirt w some stupid text on it that she clearly bought on impulse

- hero likes to spend her tip money on little treats after every work day. sometimes even non vegan stuff bc she thinks she deserves a break every now and then (which is quite often for her). she always just lies and says work ran late

- hero actually prefers frozen yogurt over ice cream but would never admit that to her family. shell get ice cream when hanging out w others but takes herself out to froyo

- hero considers hermie one of The Girls and also treats her like a little sister (i mean they are siblings in law). sometimes she invites them to girls night or other things when hermie gets left out and gives him advice about her brother

- hero is a top student at her school and practically runs the stem program there (she wants to major in astronomy when she goes to college). she has the potential to be super good at pe too but purposefully doesnt put in her full effort so she can at least appear average at that

- hero chooses guys to have crushes on. she just picks whatever weird guy she comes across and then writes self insert fanfics about them. she might be a lesbian but doesnt even realize that (just give her time shes having fun for now)

- hero is actually a very talented writer but unfortunately she wastes her potential on the stupidest most obscure fandoms. she makes fun of normal for what he writes about but she is not much better than him

- hero swears that as soon as she gets her braces off, shes gonna be chewing bubblegum all the time. can u tell that shes very much an oral stimmer

- heros fave color is teal. her old worn out teal hoodie is one of her comfort items and she wears it most of the time

- heros glasses have been crooked since she got them and it annoys her all the time but she just hasnt gotten around to getting them fixed

💄 appearance hc: hermie ofc did not know until learning that theyre half likely that they could shapeshift. they didnt realize that from the moment their parents adopted them, they were shapeshifting to appear human. they originally based their appearance on their human parents, w black hair and green eyes. every time they bleached and dyed their hair or applied makeup, they didnt realize that the process was unnecessary. they didnt realize that each aspect of their appearance was a conscious decision, and each flaw they had was simply created from them being insecure about not having a certain insecurity. acne popping up on their face or their teeth shifting to become crooked or their hair becoming greasy whenever they heard their peers complaining about all these things. but as soon as they were alone, reading comics in their room, those flaws melted away, and they became more like the comic book characters w their smooth skin and symmetrical teeth and perfect hair. all w/o realizing why they always felt so exhausted just by existing in their body.

😶 random hc: im gonna expand upon the shapeshifting thing! bc hermie is half demon, i dont believe he was actually burned by the hot cheese in the papa johns incident. esp since only his legs wouldve been burned, instead of exactly the whole left half like two face. in my mind, the two face burns were just another shapeshifting thing before hermie really realized that he was a shapeshifter. but after learning about their real parents, they slowly lost control over their shapeshifting on the left side of their body, and more of their demon/likely traits began shifting back on that side. as much as they may try to appear as certain characters on their right side, they cant hide their true self on their left.

another hermie childhood one okay awesome!! this is actually great bc literally the other night i was going nuts thinking about hermies life before transferring to san dimas high sooo

🧸 childhood hc: hermie was straight up DEVASTATED when their parents revealed to them that santa isnt real. they had written letters to him every year, acting like they were friends, trying to get into his good graces. the promise of santas gifts was the only reason they kept their behavior good. but after one letter where they asked for something a bit too out there (their own computer), their parents had to explain that santa couldnt get them one bc he wasnt real. hermie felt absolutely betrayed by this and kept this grudge for the rest of their life. they hadnt needed to act like a good kid to please some magic man who broke into their house every winter?? their parents were just lying to them to get them to stop their mischief?? from then on, hermie, instead of writing friendly letters to santa, gave blunt presentations for their parents on why they should get certain things despite their track record of naughtiness. and nowadays? theyre still mad at their parents for what they did, but now they get to be like "hey fuck u st nick IS real and hes my fucking half brother"
