The Lazy DM’s Forge of Foes Review
I wrote this review over a year ago and represent it here with a few minor revisions. The recent fracas on X (Twitter) about the anti-colonialism article has brought this book into the spotlight. It's at the END of the book.
I enjoy a lot of the Sly Flourish books, mailing list, YouTube channel and blog. This book is dynamite for new and experienced Game Masters. It was written by Teos Abadia, Scott Fitzgerald Gray, and Michael E. “Sly Flourish” Shea. There is a wealth of advice for building and running monsters within its pages. My main interest in this book besides expanding my already vast knowledge of monster…

I have very positive things to say about The Lazy DM's Forge of Foes. It's some of the best GM/DM advice money can buy. Good job, all!

Hey dnd nerds, anyone ever use the Ring of the Grammarian in your games? (It allows you change a single letter in a spell to change it to a new spell, for example I have used it to make a Mage Band - little ghostlike wizards appeared and played music; also Firecall - stuck my head in a fireplace to talk to someone far away like a floo call in Potter)
Anyone have some awesome ideas for new spells? I’ve googled it and found a few, but tumblr never lets me down for fun d&d ideas :)
