trickery of fate.
Do soulmates really exist? I'm not sure if I like that; you know, the idea of having one person in this entire world who you're supposed to be with. Having one person in this world of about 6,840,507,000 who is made for you, who will understand every part of you --the bad and the good -- who knows you in and out and despite your flaws and imperfections, appreciates you. The one person who will love you, probably unconditionally.
Because, what if you never meet that person? What if, through some trickery of fate, you never meet this one person. It's fate, isn't it. You can't just find out the whereabouts of your soulmate and then trek around the world in search of him or her. It's fated, whether or not you'll meet. And I don't think that everyone does, to be honest. And the ones who do meet their soulmates, often have to let them go. Things happen, problems arise and not every one overcomes obstacles as much as we'd like to believe that they do. Divorces happen. Great couples break up. Nick Lachey and Jessica Simpson don't make it through the long haul. And, somehow Brucas turns into Leyton and nothing but a faint ghost of a friendship remains of that great couple. In other words, shit happens. And not everyone makes it through life with their soulmate by their side. Then what happens? Are you destined to be trapped in a perpetual state of melancholic unhappiness? Wouldn't you be better off believing that you don't have a soulmate; that there isn't one person who you are meant to be tethered to? Because chances are, your love will last but your journey together won't. So why let yourself believe that by losing your soulmate, you've lost your only chance at true happiness?
In the end, more often than not, love isn't enough. And the idea of having a soulmate in this world gives the false perception that it is.
